Simple possession of a rifle in a shotgun-only hunting area isn't illegal. Unless it was loaded and you were hunting with it. I'd have fought that ticket to the top. Until last year, Cayuga County was a SG-only county. Was it illegal for me to transport my .17HMR (unloaded) to the range during hunting season? NO

If a Trooper or ECO asks a question about anything that's not in plain view (trunk or under seats) they'll be told to come back with a warrant. I take the Constitution seriously. I took an oath to defend and uphold it, and that oath didn't end when my enlistment ended.

I cut the top off, slice them lengthwise and make a boat, then cut out all the seeds. For filling, I use on package of cream cheese, softened, some Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, liquid smoke, taco sauce, taco seasoning (dry), chicken wing sauce, and some taco cheese. Mix it well, then fill the peppers, wrap in bacon, and smoke at 225* for 3 hrs. I try to use the cheapest, thinnest bacon I can find. It crisps up better than the good thick bacon.

Nice. I love my TC Pro Hunter FX, but if it were in the budget, I'd have one of these as well.

I don't hang mine at all. They're at the processor the night I shoot them. If I were to cut them myself, I'd get it skinned and in the shade asap then cut it either tonight or first thing in the morning. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

It obviously wasn't close enough. You missed the boiler room by over 2 feet. You took a bad shot and got lucky. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

Congrats. In the future, I'd caution you against taking a shot at a running deer. You got lucky this time. Most often, shots on running deer results in wounded deer that die days later. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

Costs of putting in a larger plot.

That's about it. We left a couple feet at the stump to wrap a chain around after digging up the roots with the back hoe. Then we cut the rest of the stump down for firewood and the roots went to the bonfire -
Awesome story man. Congrats.

From DEC website. Clearing of land for farming doesn't qualify under either of these activities. -
It's 7M. I don't know what the hunting pressure is like, but it's in a fairly rural area. I drive by it on 23 quite regularly and I haven't noticed any increase in traffic since bow season started. I will say, however, that there are a bunch of deer in the fields that I can see from 23 near it. Give it a shot if you're fairly local to the area.

We worked up to our current size plots. Every spring, my dad cuts the firewood he'll need for the upcoming winter from the edges of our plot, then we'll dig out the stumps and smooth out the ground and get it ready for planting. We probably gain 1/4 to 1/2 acre every year. We started doing everything with our quads but since they've gotten bigger, I have a farmer buddy who plants our plots, around 5 acres each right now. We switch it up every year, but one gets planted with corn for his cows, and the other gets clover, chicory and turnips. All I buy is the seeds for the food plot. He does all the "farming" in exchange for the use of the other plot. -

Trespassers on my land get to meet my 140# Rottweiler until someone with a badge shows up. As SteveB found out this weekend (he wasn't trespassing, he was invited), he's a big baby, but strangers don't know that!

Real nice. Glad you kept after him. I've got buddies that just give up if they don't see the deer drop. Nice deer, too.

We've got chasing here in 7j/7h. Man I wish gun season opened next week instead of 16th.

Wife and I went to Dick's last night and got ours. 2 7J's for me and 2 7H's for her. Brings our total to 8, 4 in each area. First 3 are going in my freezer, then one to my mother in law, one to my brother in law, one to my sister, then donate the last ones if I get them
