  1. Wow, great list! I need one to keep me organized and motivated. I better start jotting down some project ideas. I like it when another hunter comes through and gives me suggestions on stand locations or clearings to create. Always helpful to have a second set of eyes, but I wouldn't want you to add to your already long list!
  2. Life is a journey, not a destination! Enjoy the ride. We may head south for 3 or 4 weeks at the end of March. I have a few stops planned out already, south to the Great Smokey Mountains, Savannah, FLA Panhandle, then west to New Orleans, then Corpus Christi, Dallas, up towards Grand Rapids, then back east to home. Some places we have been, some are new to us. Loose plan, we will stop along the way and be open to hanging the agenda on a moments notice. I do plan to stop in as many ammo places as I can!
  3. Love that area. Congratulations on the new house.
  4. Was it Ridgefeild? My brother in law lives there, great little town!
  5. What the hell are you guys eating? Never mind, I don't want to know! At my friends cabin last year we used an outdoor toilet in below zero temps. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, and I don't remember a smell. The cold certainly makes you concentrate on getting down to business though.
  6. Pro tip: Cut out a new toilet seat from rigid insulation in place of whatever is there now. Life saving in those negative temp situations.
  7. My daughter and her husband went to Buffalo today to visit their 101 year old Nanna. They stopped for lunch afterwards. In all of the places in all of Buffalo, they pick the Yelling Goat!! If I had of known, I would have had them be on the lookout for @turkeyfeathers and suggested they get the Berbere wings.
  8. @luberhill what’s the name of the sushi restaurant, we are always looking for new places to try.
  9. My wife and I are competing and I’ve beat her every time so far. But she is better at these games than I am, so I know eventually she will prevail.
  10. Fun new game for any puzzle people. You have to guess the 5 letter word in 5 guesses or less. Each time you guess, the puzzle will tell you if you got any of the letters in the word correct, and if they are in the correct place. Only one word puzzle a day! Takes just a few minutes and is a fun little game. Find it here: https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
  11. He was the headline dinner entertainment at one of our hotel conferences many years ago. I was on a special committee at the time, so the President of the company put me and my wife in the front row center. For some reason, Louie thought I was the Company President and roasted "me". I kept laughing at everything, including some real insults. Louie took that as permission and really let loose! The President who was sitting several rows back was fuming and not laughing! After the show we had a meet and greet with him and when I was introduced Louie realized his mistake and said Oh My God, your not the President! I'm not going to get paid for this gig! We have a picture of the meet and greet somewhere.
  12. I'll credit this to my sister who told me this last week: "60 may be the new 40, but 10pm is the new midnight"
  13. It's is a good idea to sear the entire outside of the meat before putting into the crockpot, or even the dutch oven. Use a very hot pan with a high heat type of oil. Scrape all the fond into your pot. If you do shred it and use it in tacos, I like to take half of it and crisp it up in bacon grease so you get a mix of soft meat with crispy. But your end product looks great and I am sure will taste great!
  14. Did you complete your trout challenge for January? It might be in jeopardy!
  15. My buddy makes goose breast pastrami that is outstanding!
  16. I just saw a pile of Hornaday Sabots 12ga at Runnings on Rte 31 in Clay. They had at least 50 boxes.
  17. That reminds me, I need to put diesel anti gel in my tractor tank! I do have a block heater and it’s parked indoors so I might be ok.
  18. I am waiting with baited breath!
  19. @Chef already answered! But I’ve never used an instapot (for anything, we don’t have one). Dutch oven is the way to deer shank nirvana.
  20. Otto

    She's OK

I will be thinking about you and your wife today, best wishes!
  21. Didn't Stormy use duct tape to attach his scope to a rifle too?
