My favorite is " Merry Christmas from the Family" by Robert Earl Keene... Honorable mention goes to " Walkin' round in Women's Underwear" and " Grandma got run over by a Reindeer".....

I picked up some lovely sea scallops for me and The Mermaid....I plan to pan sear them in a HOT skillet in butter/olive oil and wash them down with Genny Light.. Haven't decided on the accompaniments yet, but since I have a pound and a half of the scallops, I may just do a salad ..

If you practice baiting enough you may eventually become a Master Baiter... Fisherman's definition of a Master Baiter...A person who can thread 24 live nightcrawlers on a size # 24 dry fly hook....

Yeah....Don't shoot the neighbor's dog....<<grin>>.....

There are 3 stages in a man's life.....Stud, Dud, and THUD.... I'm somewhere between DUD and THUD.....Hehehehe.. Heck, if I take off my shirt I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy....

Fried oysters, cottage cheese and a green salad washed down with Genny Light.... Probably the oysters will work for me but not for The Mermaid... All dressed up and nowhere to go once again....<<sigh>>......

Never go in the woods without toilet paper......In fact, never go ANYWHERE without toilet paper.... -
Shucks, DB, I'd never cover THEM up....Most of my body has gone to hell, but I've still got pretty nice nipples for an old fat guy....Hehehehe...

DAMN !! Looks to me to be about as much fun as guy can have with his clothes on.... Sign me up....I wanna shoot a shotgun with buckshot, though, two guns with extended magazines and somebody loading and passing me a full one when I pass him back the empty one.. YEEEEE- HAW !!

I had a misfire the last day of MZ season last year....My rifle is a an early 1970s TC Hawken sidelock and I was using #11 caps and 3F Triple 7....It is the only misfire I have had in 40 years of hunting with that rifle... However, one was enough, so this year I bought one of those nipple thingies for my rifle that would accept 209 primers... It goes BANG every time now....There are a couple of downsides to the new priming system....It employs a screw on nipple that would be very easy to lose in the leaves or the snow, and is slower to reload... Also, the 209 primers tend to stick in the device after firing, further slowing the reloading process...

I have spent a lot of time in Canada...The working class Canadians are some of the best people I have ever met...Honest, hard working folks... However, many of the " political elite" Canadians should be lined up and shot... OOPS !!... Sorry....Did I say something politically incorrect ??

Icefishing at it's most basic level is a very simple and inexpensive sport to get started in.. All you need is a jigging rod, a few ice jigs, something to cut a hole with and a skimmer to keep the hole clean, plus a tube of spikes or waxworms or mousie grubs for bait....Go to a lake or pond that has bluegills, crappies or perch and watch what the other guys are doing...Keep your bait within a foot or two the bottom...You may not fill a bucket, but you'll probably catch enough fish for a meal...Visit with other fishermen...Ice fishermen are generally a friendly bunch and will share info.. From there you may decide to invest in more gear, like portable shelters, fish finders, etc....But you can also fish with the very most basic the rest of your life and still have fun and catch enough fish to keep you fed... One tip.....Light line, small jigs and small baits usually work best for ice fishing...Those panfish are not nearly as aggressive in cold water as they are in the summer....However, the flesh is firmer when they are taken from cold water...In my opinion, few fish are as succulent as panfish taken through the ice..

Sum up your season- partys over ! .........

She's definitely warming up, but I have one more evening in my stand...This thaw has melted the snow off my clover and forage oats and the deer are working it again...Last night 2 does & 2 fawns came out, but stayed out of range of my old Hawken EXCEPT one bambi that got a wild hair and ran over and stood about 50 yards from me....It was pretty small and I decided I wasn't THAT hungry...Perhaps this evening he'll come back and bring his Mom with him...Hehehehe.... -
Good luck....I have heard that it is sometimes possible to break a dog from gunshyness, but I have never known anyone who had any luck doing it... Knowledgable dog trainers probably have some methods ....

Just for clarification, are talking actual "inside" tenderloins, or loins/backstraps ? Locally, when someone mentions tenderloins they are usually referring to the backstraps... -
Damn, that's NUTZ....Poor guy....

The pizza I could take or leave...The squid.....YUM !!!!!....

Tom Kelly offered an appropriate analogy in his book " The Tenth Legion".... With my apologies to Col. Kelly, it went something like this... The Sultan's Son has been given the keys to his Dad's harem for the weekend... A buck private has a weekend pass and $50 in his pocket... They are both after the same thing...Which one do you suppose will have to employ greater skill and effort to achieve his goal ?

Al Bundy and Norm Peterson are my two primary role models.... SECONDS on Kelly !!

Congrats, Goosey !!....Good job !!...

I had sliced deer heart sauteed in butter and a big green salad and washed down with Genny Light... Nice low cholesterol meal....I guess I can afford it now and then...Last check my cholesterol level was 59...

Okay, what is a predator slam ? A red fox, a grey fox and a coyote in the same day ? Add a werewolf ( or dogman) and would it be a Super Slam ?? I guess the werewolf or dogman would make it a SUPERNATURAL Slam...
