  1. Gotcha covered, Biz !! Drove through there many times when I was stationed in NYC from 1971-1973... However I never paid much attention to anything south and east of The Jewish Alps....
  2. I'll have to check the map, Biz.....hehehehe...
  3. I don't even know where Orange County IS,, but I know wood ducks like beaver ponds, small rivers with lots of timber around them and secluded little potholes, especially with lots of brush and some timber...Good luck !
  4. Leica Trinivoid 8 x 42....They're a bit on the heavy side, but they are high quality, and after using quality binocs it's tough to go back to the cheaper stuff...I bought them back when I was doing a lot of out of state spot and stalk hunts, but they work just as well stillhunting deer in the woods...
  5. I'm retired from a local industry...My job title was engineering technician, but much of my hands on work involved machining and polishing glass and ceramic items for scientists and engineers in my company's R&D facility.... My present job is to do as much hunting and fishing as I can, while keeping The Mermaid happy enough so she doesn't kick me out...I'm too old to be looking for a new place to live...
  6. I'll take you out this coming spring, Ya Big Chooch....PINKIE SWEAR.!!
  7. Sweet shooter, eagle...I really like you, but I wish you couldn't s**t until you gave me that rifle....Hehehehe...
  8. Nice adult bear....I am guessing around 300 lb....
  9. You gotta hunt where the ducks are.....I have found a few choice hideaways over the years, but often your choices are limited by water, access, etc.
  10. You have made me see the error of my ways, Grampy... I have decided to take Moog gobbler hunting next spring to see if we can break the little feller's cherry....<,GRIN>>.... Now if I can only find a blind big enough for the both of us......
  11. I agree with what you say, 7600....But in my example there are usually other people hunting nearby, and shooting at birds at ranges that it is nearly impossible to kill them ( 75 yards PLUS) is only ruining the hunting for any other hunters in the same general area... If there are any hunters here who can kill ducks at 75 yards with even the SLIGHEST amount of regularity with legal shot loads, I'd like to hear from them, as long as they have proof and documentation of their ability..
  12. What TF said......Using electronic calls has always been illegal in NY in the spring...MANY years ago it was legal in the fall, but has been illegal for at least 3o years...
  13. How about saving me a nice leg of lamb ??.....<<smile>>...
  14. Moog is a big chooch....I think he's Tony Soprano's nephew....Hehehe..
  15. I have never had the pleasure of hunting with a well trained turkey dog, but in years past I have used my lab and springers to scatter flocks, with good effect..One time we scattered a flock and I walked back to the truck to take the dogs home...I was only gone perhaps a half hour or 45 minutes, but by the time I got back my 3 partners had already called up and killed 3 birds..
  16. Sky -busting morons who shoot at ducks and geese way out of range, usually when they are starting to circle come in...
  17. Looks like the right tool for the job to this old white boy....hehehehe... Now wait a minute....If a 2.5x scope is GOOD, wouldn't a 3 x 9 x 40MM be 3 or 4 times BETTER ??....
  18. That is damn near PERFECT, My Friend !!.....Dead deer.. !!..
  19. Hmmmm...By that same line of reasoning, I should have run over that family of four coons in the road on my way duck hunting yesterday morning...I braked (safely) and let them go.. Tonite, somebody's teenage daughter might see that same family of ringtails, swerve to miss them and hit a big tree and be killed... I'll feel SOOOO guilty for not running over the little varmints when I had the chance <<sigh>>...
  20. Very cool, Al..!!.. Why do they call 'em wetbacks ? Looks like those guys are only getting their CHINS wet....hehehehe.... First time I ever saw a coatimundi ( sp ?) on trailcam, too....
  21. Pygmy

    And Tagged out

Old fat guy ?? Shucks, you still have milk on your whiskers....<<GRIN>>... Nice buck, G Man...Good shooting, my Friend !
  22. You ARE a hardhead, Steve...Hehehehe. I had blood running off the end of my nose all 4 times I got nailed....The last time was with my 7m08, the lightest kicker of them all.. I had two black eyes for two weeks from that one...
