And everything was on that 1 piece of paper other the your back tag and a party permit if you got one,Not that roll of toilet paper junk you get now.And if you have a life time lic. and apply for Archery and MZ. loader you get a duplicate and another roll of toilet paper.Someone must have relatives in DECALS,paper companies and ink and printer companies. Well that's progress in the computer world.

Good deal.. Be sure you shoot a few groups before you started "upgrading" it. It may great just the way it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is that new do this. /www.winchesterguns.com/customerserviceqna/detail.asp?id=223hoot -

Buy yourself some chicken wire ( as Gro said 6' is better ) no need for ant type of pipe or tubes for the size trees you are getting.Chicken wire will stop just about anything from getting to the trunks and branches.I just make a 3' dia. circle and tie the ends together, use rebar to hold the wire in place, when it is time to weed wack I just lift the wire up do it and put it back down..Also have a circle of mulch around the trunks. -
NYS Thruway Exit 16 area has a lane marked for cars and trucks with trailers. Besides my car trailer I also towed my popup trailer with no problem in EZ pass lane, they must have a camera also.
-
I never had do do anything when towing my open 2 axle car trailer. Just pull into the correct lane at the toll both, and they charge you Extra for the trailer. did this at least 2 times a month from L.I. to N.J. and to Albany area and back for years.
-
Mine have been up for the last 6 years year round., Tug and jump up and down on them every spring.Just replace ratchet straps.I have coated cable holding most to the trees with locks,no problems so far.

I have gotten bare root trees and plants shipped by UPS or FedEx from the DEC, Millers and Musser and never had a problem with any of them, I even had potted plants shipped. -

The true tree tubes are not Pipe. They are sheet rolled into a round shape so you can take them off when you want to, they use zip or tie raps to keep them closed. Most better nurseries carry them. People use pvc type pipe because the have it or it is cheaper. But you have to cut them apart to get them off. -
I pray for some warm weather! It is warmer down there then up here by 10 - 15 degrees. About a foot and a half of fresh snow here. SOB I have not seen any deer movement here for the last 3 days, the must be snuggled up under the pines.

I think that is kind of important to be able to enjoy putting some shots through any rifle that I own. I agree also most barrels should ( as they say have to be seasoned ) or broken in. With a number of shots threw them. -
Bubba the pictures you posted on Grows stove story were great,in my next life I would love to have a cabin as that. Is there sleeping room up stairs or storage?.

strange and scariest things while hunting or fishing NY
thphm replied to noodle one's topic in General Chit Chat
On a party boat early spring the first week of flounder season near one of the inlets. ( now you have to be a person that surfcasts in and around the inlets of Long Island to understand why this is scary.) I think Greaybeard can relate to this. One of the people hooks into something and it had to be big the rod was bent pretty good, one of the mates go over to help, the finally got it up and it was a pair of chest waders. The turned it upside down and out came a few eels. Was the person wearing them smart enough to get out of them or hmmm,we will never know. -

I had one of the early Tika T3 hunters in 30 - 06 with a wood stock, it shot fine but did not impress my by all of the plastic that is used on it. I never had a Savage rifle so I could not say how they are. At the time I could have and should have bought a real rifle as the Sako not its knockoff. -
New Years Eve our parents would leave most of my cousins and myself at our grandparents house for the night,My grand parents had 8 children so there were plenty of cousins sleeping overnight. Our parents would come back new years day and spend most of the day recouping and eating afterwards. The uncles would go to the local bar and bring back tap beer in the metal container the took with them. A happy and healthy new year too all.

What are you having ?. I will start, My folks would say every year about this time you should eat Hearing for the new year, It is supposed to bring you good luck, So I picked up a jar of pickled hearing for new years eve. Then I was thinking about the holiday seasons past and what my grandparents would make. And they all came from Europe at the time of the first world war. So I started looking up how to make what they made. That would taste the same.Nothing was written down by then it all came from memory. The first which I enjoyed the most was Babka ( Polish Easter bread )I found a recipie which sounded right.I made it and ( it's amazing how your taste buds remember how thing taste )It tasted just like I remembered. Another was Perogies, I made potato/ onion version. And the main one Kielbasa ( smoked version) instead of beef and pork I made Venison and pork. In natural casings. My neighbor has a smoker, We will see how they taste when finished.
-
I ordered a bunch of pine and spruce from Musser at the end of the year, We will see if the price changes on delivery in the Spring.
-
Did you notice the price of apples has not dropped that much from last ( bad ) year from this year a ( great ) year. And now they are complaining there were so many apples they could not get enough people to pick them and they are saying they also do not have room to store them. Ha Ha.
