Live from the rifle range
steve863 replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
That is a minute of moose group no matter how you turn the picture! -
So, you think you got snookered by Trump? You've got to give him credit for being a master with his roadshow and theatrics. He is a modern day PT Barnum and he has a great ability to make suckers out of people. I do think he will win a second term, most especially with the cast of clowns that the democrats are throwing up against him, but his true colors will show in the second term when he no longer has to appeal to the people who voted for him since he cannot run for a third term. Historically he has not been loyal to anyone or anything, so in my opinion it will be his next term that will define him.

How old were you when you learned to shoot?
steve863 replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in General Chit Chat
My uncle got me started on hunting at 14 which was the legal age to hunt small game at the time, but the one thing he did not do enough of was have me shoot at targets to improve my shooting ability. He'd pretty much give me the ammo to hunt with, but didn't really want to burn too much of it at targets for practice. I'd say I was in my 20's already before I really learned the skill of shooting by going to the rifle range frequently on my own. -

Actually, maybe knocking out ones baby teeth with the recoil of a Weatherby rifle is good childhood preventive dentistry since Biz seems to have a good set of teeth in adulthood. He certainly likes to show them off in the numerous pictures he's posted of himself. LOL -

A .224 is too much for a 4 year old as you unfortunately found out. Mom must have been real happy when you came home all bloodied up and missing some baby teeth, huh?? -

What in the world? Don't want to rag on your father, but who gives a 4 year old a Weatherby to shoot?? -
I think if you poll the people on the street in NYC a good many might agree with you, although there are also plenty who wouldn't. The problem is that it don't matter what the people think. The NYC council along with the Mayor are nothing but a bunch of idiot clowns who will decide for themselves. This could most definitely become law. The crazier and stupider the idea or issue, the more likely it will be supported by these nutjobs in NYC.

Getting some animal blood on your clothes is what it's all about. It means "mission accomplished"!!

Just seems like going to your doctor can be hazardous to ones health. You might come out in worse shape than you go in, if you come out at all! LOL
-
Sounds like you use the same doctor that the crazies, druggies, derelicts, and ex-Riker's Islands inmates use. LOL

This NYC boy is showing you country boy's how to get it done!!

That's a good one! I've had the same box of 10 shells for the last 15 years, so I haven't spent much money either. I have 9 left. The one shell I shot was just because I wanted to check to see if the gun still works. LOL

I hope that I am wrong about Halle, but it is well known fact that the vast majority of celebrities are very liberal in every way imaginable and very anti-gun. You'd have plenty to add to your ass hat list.
-
That's good. Hopefully she's the real deal. She definitely looks like she knows how to handle guns.
-
I will give her that. She most definitely looks like she is enjoying herself.
-
LOL, it's funny how everyone is having an orgasm over this video. I bet if you questioned her, she'd be totally anti-gun and anti 2nd amendment like most all celebrities. They tote and shoot guns in the movies and on TV, yet they don't want anyone in the real world to have any.

1000 guns confiscated from home in CA
steve863 replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Honestly, we shouldn't be comparing this case with Waco. David Koresh was a nut job who thought he was the second coming of Christ, so in my opinion he created his own problems with the government and many others. And unfortunately his stupidity led to the deaths of many people. -

I guess what triggered this search and seizure is that he may have had a few guns that were deemed illegal in CA, but otherwise having 1000 guns should not be an issue if everything else is kosher. -

I don't know of any law that would make it illegal for someone to own 1000 guns even if they weren't a federal firearms dealer. I'm sure there are people out there that may have that many or more. If a person has done nothing illegal with these guns, what's the problem with owning them? Some people have lots of money, like to collect things, so 1000 guns would not be an insane amount to accumulate. -
I noticed a few weeks ago on the DEC website that registration would begin at 4:00AM this morning for a course out on Long Island. I was up at 4:00 and luckily got to register my son for the class. By 4:15 there were only 7 seats out of the 30 remaining. All filled and registration closed by 7:00 AM. Unbelievable how quickly these classes get filled. Very easy to miss out on one and then you might have to wait months for another one.

Must have been a tough hunt. You look a little pale.

My uncle lent me his guns the first few years that I hunted. The first gun of my very own was bought by myself. It was a Remington 700 BDL in .270 which I still hunt with today, although the stock has needed to be replaced. It's 35 years old now, but still puts down the deer I shoot at so why change things?

AT, you get my vote for being the most dedicated and successful hunter on this forum coming out of NYC! Hats off to you man! Not many around NYC anymore with your type of desire and dedication to our sport.

I think you are right about people upstate not getting out to vote. At least in the Gubernatorial election, they could have done much more to oust Cuomo if they made more of an effort to get everyone out to vote. We also need to understand that not everyone upstate is a republican, neither. I think people sometimes seem to forget that. NYC is most definitely going back to being a dump. Have you been here lately? Derelicts all over the streets and subways every morning smelling them up to high hell. Road, bridges, subways crumbling in general. DiBlasio seems to care mighty little about any of this. Crime too, has been increasing. Crime generally is not as bad as some make it sound, but certainly going the wrong way compared to recent years where things were getting much better.
