  1. HAHA! Yep, my wife says the same thing when we're in the truck. "this is like sitting on the couch" You gotta love a full size truck for comfort. The term "rides like a truck" does not have the same meaning that it used to. The Colt has only been out for a week or two. I ordered it, won't even find out exactly how much it is until they locate one. Also ordered a Sig P225 A1. Should have stayed at my desk...
  2. I think when you're a big guy you tend to do the "lean" no matter what ya drive. I'm getting away from this desk for a few minutes right now, I clearly don' have enough work to keep me busy. I'm going to see if I can order the new Colt King Cobra Target for my wife.
  3. I know, I'm sorry. I tried to edit it quickly. I'm acting like a little bitch today...
  4. Couldn't agree more. I'm thinking about getting another one for ME and an enclosed trailer to pull the ATV and other hunting gear for two months a year, when it's time to replace my truck.
  5. THIS EXACTLY! It's funny, we do the same "rides" we used to on the bikes in the Wrangler with the top and doors off. We have more fun in the jeep lately than we ever did on the Harleys. Maybe getting older has something to do with that, but I'll take it!
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2_O_f01vpU Plenty of places to off-road in the north east.
  7. Seriously. Man would my wife smack you into place! LOL! At 52 years old, and all of 102 lbs, when she isn't whipping her dirt bike off of jumps she's getting her jeep muddy. Haters gonna hate. I'll say it again. It's a JEEP thing, you wouldn't understand. I'm 6'5, 270. It's a bit tight for me if I'm wearing bulky winter clothing, but once those doors are off who cares! I love that my wife loves them, but I wouldn't be able to do without the room and bed of a truck personally. At this stage of my life anyway.
  8. I have never done this before, now feel like a complete bonehead for not thinking of it. I'm going to pick up some Sawyer spray and start using it. With all of the work we have been doing on the new lease these last few weeks, we haven't had any ticks on us. We've been lucky I guess.
  9. We also have a doe with triplets. A lot of fawns on the property, many seem to be very small and heavily spotted still. Maybe a lot of does were bred late last fall? I don't know, it just seems late for tiny fawns to be running around.
  10. My wife has been driving Jeeps for 30 years. They are as reliable as anything else out there. We have never had a major problem with any of them. Wranglers ride like you expect them too, a little stiff, but they are purpose built, not a luxury car. I personally do not like how the new JL steering feels, but that's just me. My wife currently has an '18 Sahara Unlimited and like every other Jeep she has had, she loves it so much she's going to "Keep this thing forever!" I hope so, because they aren't cheap as you are finding out I'm sure. The only other vehicles that hold resale as well as a Wrangler is a Toyota Tacoma or 4 Runner so don't even worry about that. My Ram Hemi gets better mileage, but who cares, if I was worried about gas mileage I wouldn't buy trucks. She averages 18mpg with an even split highway and city driving. I'm not sure how asking these questions helps you decision though, go drive one. You will know instantly if you are in love. If you're not, don't feel bad, remember just like the bumper stickers say... "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" Oh, and my Boss just sold her 2007 JK "farm truck" with 290,000 miles on it for $4,500...

  12. I'm going back to fixed this year, going to see how the Magnus Black Hornet Ser-Razors fly this weekend.
  13. We moved away from climbers and hang-ons 6 years ago and went to ladders. We love them. I used a blind for the first time last year and it was awesome once the snow and cold hit. Saying that, I picked up a new Summit Titan earlier this year and am planning on using that this year too.
  14. probably the property owners tractor...
  15. I carry a field tip in my pocket, works as well as the tool in my opinion. PITA even with the tool. Still my favorite nock though.
  16. Definitely a crew cab with kids. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in the "these are better than those" discussions with a lease. If you are leasing they are all good options, you will be out of it in 3 years anyway and it will be under warranty. Go look at all of them and see what fits you best and see who will work the best deal with you. I've had a few different trucks and different brands, but haven't even looked at this year's new models so I can't comment on "what is better" for me, and that may not be better for you anyway. A couple of friends and one of my sons works for NYS's largest dealer group, they all tell me to get a Toyota or Ford for my next truck. I haven't owned either, but my next one will most likely be one of those two. I do love the new Ram HD's though!
  17. You got another tag for that $15, an antlerless only tag was the second one you purchased, you can use either of them in either bow or MZ season.
  18. If you think that makes the building safe then you need to ask a high-schooler how they get back in after skipping a few classes.
  19. I guess if could be if you wanted to hunt with it installed, depends on the size of the blind too. I put it in position when I leave the blind to prevent it from caving in from heavy snow, no other reason. When I arrive at the blind I clear the snow, if any, and remove the support.
  20. I think you can use just about anything. I made one using a telescoping paint roller extension pole I had laying around. On the threaded end, that would go into the roller handle, I formed a ball of dental impression material over the threads and into position on the top center hub, once it hardened, it created a mould of the hub and won't slip off. It works well. By buddy uses a piece of 2x4, he drilled a 1" hole in the end of the board to fit over the hub screw. It stays in place and works perfectly.
  21. MAD BOMBER!! I have a whole collection of them, they are my favorite cold weather tree stand head gear by far.
