  1. Might be a long island shot (pun) but if you know a range/club near by i'd bet they could help you find one.
  2. Feeders, salt blocks, food - mineral blocks, all that is illegal in NY. When your in Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, etc., try not to trip over the pallets of that jazz stacked on the floor or shelves. One day I think some of these restrictions will get lifted. And then this state will see a sharp increase in welfare animals such as wild bore. Personaly I think a mineral block would help local deer but the right time to use them would be in the spring. All that other chemical waste people dump on their property they can keep imo. Food plots and care of natural browse is fairly popular. Forgot to add; not sure what area your near but look up a local fish & game - rod & gun club to sight in. Good luck.
  3. Long time ago I used to grind then freeze. Back then it was one or two of mine and help out with another or so. Then I got into archery and process more of my own plus others. From a time saving point I bag & freeze for later.
  4. Usually 2. No tags for my area so going for those helps prevent stand burn out on the property. Speaking of, I think the cams have given me a feel for whats out there and what could be there for next year if they hang around.
  5. Bunch of good size does, 4's & 6's around since the place was logged. Here's two shots.
  6. I've had deer within feet of me munching away, staring with that 'somethings not quite right with that tree' look. I was wearing a grey hooded fleece jacket. But thats not the point. I like to blend into my stand / spot and try not to give the game something to stare at. New camo has arrived. I like it. I typically one size up so I can layer under. Heads up - had a slight shipping issue you all might want to be aware of. I had the package shipped to work, UPS drivers very familiar with the place. Address label has 4 lines, the shipper - printed the phone # below my name instead of the company name above the address. Caused an 'exception'. I had to call ups and they got word back to the driver in time and the package was delivered.

    Corn Fields

Not trying to change the subject but this reminds me of watching Turkeys in a cornfield, before and after manure is spread. Yeah I try not to think about it to much

    Why?

If trespassers (and thieves) were subject to proper punishment then a deterrent to the issue would be in place. But noooo, the system protects them for the most part and gives them rights. Knowing that what respect would they have for my property or anyone else's?
  10. Nice buck there. With all those tall weeds in the wind you probably get a ton of empty pics.
  11. Late August stretch plot about two weeks on - check out the back of the plot.
  12. What the -- somebody glued a dead chicken to it's head.
  13. Well then there you have it. Otherwise, this makes no scene to me. Good luck this season.
  14. Straight from the mossyoak store http://store.mossyoak.com/ When I ordered there was less then a dozen in stock. Tried the usuals, cabellas, wingsupply, etc all out.
  15. Thats a nice buck - cool tine one the one side.
  16. Thats some luck right there - hope the kielbasi is cured right. I must admit when I read the thread title first thing I thought of was boobs.
  17. Last month had the Jeep in the shop - mouse nest in the air cleaner. I use those jaws plastic reusable traps, good traps btw, catch one or two every weekend at camp. Thinking about building one of those 5gal bucket traps.
  18. No doubt paying attention to the wind can better your chances, it seems wise to play it. Then there's state land wma's where I doubt others do. So I usually get in with my climber 17'+ and park it.
  19. Just placed an order for some mossyoak - bottomland camo and realized for the past 5 years I've bought probably 80% of my hunting clothes online. It's mostly the same story & patterns at retail outlets. Not that their clothes are bad but I wasn't finding the patterns I liked. Bottomland is similar to a treebark pattern, works for me. I also have some ultimate bark pattern that I like. I also have a jump suit in something of the original treebark pattern. Ripped the butt on it near the end of last season, so duct tape had yet one more purpose.
