I've enjoyed positive results and success with the Magnus Stinger & Buzzcut heads.

So I had two gardens going this year, one at camp. And planned to can the excess produce. Wound up picking and eating most of it instead. Well for next year the gardening plan will be a little different. Anyway I found this video on canning that I wanted to post. The guy doesn't use extra spices or cider vinegar but has a calm explanation about the process. Enjoy.

Wait - whaaaat?? -
Plot progress is cool to notice over time. Planting anything for Turkey or going mostly for Deer?

55# works well for me.

Two things right off the bat; I seem to have strained/sprained my right elbow. If I put any weight or pull on it - yeah. This is going to affect finish up plantings & time, other projects at camp not to mention bow practice. Also while the logging is done on my property the landing is still being used for about another week. I have agreed to that so my neighbor can get some logging finished up on his side. Shots from the stand - expanded areas next to one of the clover/chicory plots. Went over them best I could with a steel rake after they were cleared and I clipped allot of exposed roots with the ratcheting sheers. I'm sure that didn't help the elbow. But now, the plan is drop an annual in them until next year. Avg ph is 5.8 - you all might think I'm off my rocker but since these are woodland plots not huge fields I'm planning to drop a few tons of topsoil on these next year. Stretch plot expanded a bit. Expanded plot area that sort of tee's up against one of the clover plots - planned annual again for this year. Standing close to where another stand is, a new path covering the left side of a marsh. And a new path up onto the right side. Do deer use these? Im no detective but... Bunch of paths cleared up - could be planted, not sure I can get to them this year. The muddy areas smoothed out for the most part. Loger used the skidder and grabbed some dirt off the sides - it's drying up now can walk on most of it - up close it looks like some sort of lava flow. An finally (for this post) here's an area among many now on the property that gets lots of light, and where the skidder went through leaving a shallow trench of sorts. The plan is - for next year - utilize spots like this to plant a dozen or so apple trees, maybe some hazelnut etc. Plenty of dirt to slice off, chop up and use to bury them planting up to pouch level. Beats the dog snot out of trying to dig in the ground up there. Pic shows two cherry trees.

I have a Cooper John sight - very happy with it. I believe they are made in Auburn NY. I wouldn't be happy if they weren't standing behind their jazz either. Just wondering if the op communication was with Copper John or the the bow package manufacturer. I would think they would want to make it right.

I am thinking if the residents had to fork over for most of the funding instead of using other peoples money there would be a much different outlook. As long as communities can use or access some sort of taxpayer funds or donations then this contraceptive malarkey will go on. Two basic rules for participating bowhunters should be passing some sort of interview & shot test, and not gut the deer in the same area.

I like 16'-18' for two main reasons. It's a comfortable, workable height for me. Ladder stands over 18', including a 15' with an extension section seem to be a chore to set-up and secure. With a climber I find myself maybe a foot +/- higher - sticks and a hang on maybe a foot +/- lower. I don't like having to climb into a stand so to say, should be able to more or less step into it. 25'+ - not for me, might as well piss myself now.

Greetings neighbor; check the 'ingredients list' on those throw and grow bags - if you see high % of ryegrasses this usually translates to yeah it looks good growing but that doesn't mean it's the forage deer are looking for that time of season. I sometimes hunt in the 7M & 7R areas, I would like to suggest antler king fall/winter/spring mix - it's winter rye & peas annual mix. It is mildly shade & ph tolerant. If you plant over labor day weekend at the latest it'll give those plots a chance. Then, grow back in the spring and go to seed head, maybe just in time for spring Turkey. Then, you can wack it down, and go in with a perennial such as a good clover/chicory mix. If you can get back there with a 4x i'd also suggest borrowing/renting a good rear tine tiller after spring. Good hunting. (btw you can order that mix from gander and have it shipped to store - takes about 10 days or so.)

I hear that on the rocks. And it's not just that it's the roots & vines a tiller will bind up on. I picked up a belt drive rear tine tiller and at least with that it sort of stops when that happens. Before that once I rented an 8hp rear tine frankin-tiller, had a mind of it's own chain drive. Would tend to launch itself, hated that thing by the end of the day. So anyway now I use the highst depth setting for the work.

It's no smart phone but I have a 530g-Tracfone triple minutes - doesn't suck.

Got stung by some kind of wasp or hornet the other day while working a plot.
-
Look forward to a few years from now. If all goes well that's when you'll wonder why you didn't grab a Bow a long time ago. Good hunting.

Cool video clip - it dosen't seem to be that high of the ground either.

First up - the date on the cam is wrong, and I don't care at least it works. But if anyone is intersted notice the day number and then the time. I have tracks in and out of the place, the deer don't seem to bug out just because the work is going on. Thought that was important to illustrate as alot of people including myself thought logging activity will spook deer out of the area.
-
No idea what the bug in 2nd pic is but I dig it's camo.

Cool pics thanks for sharing. The Turkey in that pic is closer than it appears.

You can pick up an arrow puller from the same place you got the target. It works - ok.

*pink fletching* good video.

Here's something from buckmasters on avoiding the death grip.
