Mask. Although it does get the coffee, bacon, pickled egg, mustard, tuna, garlic breath smell a bit.

Wild how she locked on and stuck around, & tried to get you to budge. Good hunting.

Good stuff. First year I planted winter rye deer didn't seem to get into it. This year it's responsible for 1 tag so far. And a few in it I passed on. Will be planting it again next year. It's nice to know local deer are getting use out of the plots.

Headed back to camp Friday for a few days. It'll give me a chance to try and sneak around the property - as long as a little rain muffles the potato chips.
-
Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I have to mention - I did bratwurst & Italian this year and cooked some up at camp. First year I ever made my own. Friggin turned out great

Lull could mean you've been patterned.

Irons with the Wolf this season, as with last season. Fun to hunt with that thing. All my shots with it have been 50 yards or under. Might scope it next year though, after getting the place logged there's more lane opportunities.

Nice, why's he off limits?

Solar - 12v socket charger, when needed (at camp).

A little surfing, ok. When you have to sit down because the tree is going to whip back on you, meh..

When your keep your butt dry seat cover - doesn't. Tree stand settling noises. That one die hard mosquito.

Got home the other day to process a deer and discovered my spare tires & rims got took. Sheriff filled out a report and then we talked about hunting & food plots for a few minutes.

Gotta like those shakes

Would have taken the larger buck if possible. Presuming both are typical - not drops or freaks then antler / point has little to do with that decision.

magnumhunt; is there a general southern exposure on the property near this cabin? My off grid camp is solar powered. Fridge, ventalation, lights, recharge power tools etc.

Picked up a David Brown 885 diesel. With a bucket, good meat on the rear tires, tire chains incl. I also have the original user/owners manual. It could use a bit of work but she's functional & purrs like a kitten.

After a nice cold morning two doe bounced into the winter rye plot. Took one. The other stayed in the area a few seconds after the shot broadside. She seemed puzzled, could have doubled but I let her walk. Told myself only one doe off the property this year. Good hunting.

Spotted 3 bucks in the stretch plot (clover/chicory) soon after sunup. 2-4's and a 6. 20 minutes later a nice bodied 4 walkes into the adjactent plot, just to my left 25 yards. Now he's broadside, eating. I'm at full draw, but drew down decided to let him pass. Now he's in the plot generaly right in front of me 25-30 yards, from the clover/chicory into the winter rye, for the next 20 frackin minutes. Would have been an easy shot, opening day buck - yeaup .. About a half hour later I hear some mild bleating, moma doe steps into the clover/chicory plot and in comes her two yearlings. They nursed for a few seconds then putzed around and nibbled on the plot.

I don't recomend mirrors. Yes that trick will work but it will also increases panel heat which actually decreases efficiency, not to menton the constant work. A tracker makes more sence if you want to deal with the mirco-mechanics. A few years ago panels were pricy, still not super cheap but just over 1$ a watt and more efficient today. Imo it seems easier just to adjust for the angle of the sun now and then. I use a hybid system at my off-grid camp. Refridgeration, ventalation, lights, power tools etc.

I hook up when I'm in stand. Taken to a harness that came with a Gander stand, brown straps, nothing fancy at all but it's quiet and doesn't get in the way. The Gorilla vest harness is easier to get into and all, plus the quick metal connections are coated. But I feel just a tad less flexible wearing it.

Yeeeup.
