Wow, what a load. So lets see, in your eyes my 3 less then 1/2 acre plots are baiting. And if it was up to you I wouldn't need to bust my @ss at all in the woods because I don't have groomed fields on my lease.

Have you tried the interacive mapper? http://www.dec.ny.gov/pubs/42937.html (broadband)

Sounds good. The project is not a rush job, which is a good thing. Should sorta be ongoing anyway. And seeing how my tiller has a flat I may need spare funds for that. The fan is basicaly one of these. So that is 15w plus a small light, car bulb size. Now I'm thinking down the road there's got to be a way - something to charge aa & aaa batterys without using the inverter. I have seen the mini solar chargers - kits that have their own panels but most of the ratings mention they take to long to be affective. Speaking of time to modify a post Something like this perhaps http://store.sundancesolar.com/ac20bach.html seems a little pricey though.

And I thought you just had to much coffee. I think the time to modify a post was changed.

BBC show on raptor flight - awesome footage

That was wild footage. -
One plot goal (or at least thinking about) I have this year is a Clover/Chicory mix. Before I plant it I'll do a soil test and most likely need lime. I want to time it so it is productive durring summer/fall, then into Archery hopefully. Anyhow so I find this article about Clover in northern climates. sourceWhat the crap? So if that is true hows that going to pan out with a mix?

Well after getting some work done at camp I 'distributed' the dunk tabs. Broke a few up acording to instructions - which also metioned treatment lasts around 30 days. So I'll do it again mid May and see how it goes. After Spring Turkey I should have results to post.

Ok have been rethinking the solar power plan a bit. A marine battery box is cheap, 100$ deep cycle, cables etc., is still less expensive then one of those optima's. Will still go with a 15w panel & a meter-tester to keep an eye on things. Salvaged a dc light for back up but for now I'm mainly concerned with powering the fan. Want to know what a smaller 1 panel system can do before I invest or need upgrades. Recharging power tool / batteries; same way as before with the inverter & run the Jeep I guess.

Hope things went well, seems to be a weekend for that kinda thing. Just got back from camp, I should have packed the tent because it was Awsome up there. But at least the work I wanted to do got done. Of course there is more in due time. Then I went for a walk, busted 4 grouse, saw two turkeys and lots of deer prints. Man that gets the gears turning.

This gives me an idea. Something along the lines of a turducken.

I see some of you guys have apartments on wheels Just ribbing - modern campers are expensive and worth protecting. I'll be able to get away with building a slant roof shelter for mine. And replacing a heavy duty tarp every other year or so. Btw if your not used to running flexable copper tubing it's easy to find out how quick you can mangle 5 feet of it. While browsing for battery boxes & window hardware I found this site rvtruckparts.com might be usefull. Ha! hilltop camper link

Well I couldn't find any concrete evidence supporting eating lemons as bug repelant, but several sites posting that lemon or lemon juice is affective. Heck if it works a lemon a day would sure beat dousing with deet. I hate bug spray on my face. These days on the ground I usually go out with a head net and cap or boonie hat & net. At camp I have spots of standing water, this spring I'm going to try treating them with mosquito-dunks tablets.

Well I recently got off the phone with a customer in the Watertown area. I asked him if there was any serious snow on the ground. He said no, but it's muddy. I think he was lying, customers always lie.

Deep cycle batt would be the better option, absolutly. After buying this camper & a rear-tine tiller was just looking to save on the budget for now. Those optima's are 250$ or so. I would be interested in what the cut-out is about. I thought store the battery inside the camper if it's safe. Up front there's compartments under the seats, like most of these things have. One side had the old water tank. Now gone that leaves a spot I could install a plastic battery box. This spot also has a 2" or so opening to the outside (where the water fill was) that I can rig and seal off for cables to the solar panel. Either that or part of the rear compartment under the bunk. But there I'd have to make an opening. From inside run a pair of good wires up and over in some conduit to a point probably near the kitchen to a box. From there I would think to fuse the + and be able to allow for expansion. From that point be able to run a toggle to the fan.

You had to post those, didn't you? Now, I will not be able to sleep untill May.

Anyone use 12v alot when your camping? I'd like to start a thread discussing what we do without 120v. First off - does anyone familiar with solar power know if you can keep those panels clamped to the battery while drawing from it at the same time without a charge controller? Not so much for lighting, I mean we have our lanterns, battery puck lights, etc, but more along the lines of camper ventalation fans. Modern campers have appliances such as refridgeration that have dual power sources but I tend to think these 'set-ups' are designed to plug-in somewhere. I'm redesigning an older camper because it was cheap enough, and I won't need the appliances, aside from the stove. So they are gone and I installed shelves & slide out cooler storage. So I should be able to get away with 1 propane keg. That leaves 1 'luxury', the stove, but above it on the wall there was a 120v vent. Keep in mind I removed all the 120v jazz. I do have a 12v fan similar to the ones you can buy at auto parts stores. The plan: I have screened & framed the vent so I can clamp this fan and use it, fits good suprisingly. Also be able to slide it out to oscilate inside. 1 fan, dual use, replaceable. I can hook it up to something holding a 12v tool battery, or plan B would be a car battery or deep cycle. But I don't want to become dependant on running the Jeep to keep that charged unless I need to. Enter the 50$ solar panel for a trickle charge of sorts. Which opens other possibilities. Could use a new battery for the Jeep, while the one it has isn't dead if I eat the core cost then I can recycle it that way untill such a time demands an upgrade. I'll also have my inverter with me but thats just for recharging the 18v tools & aa-aaa batteries. One thing I like to do is cook using the pit but now I'll have the camper stove & spare single burner for back-up. It'll be nice for coffee while gearing up before sunrise or perhaps being stuck inside from a downpour. The whole idea is not needing to leave camp in case one system bombs. Oh yeah so I'm in harborfreight the other day and spotted those wind-up led lanterns. My first thought was why do they make them look like a regular lantern? They are designed for 20 minutes on a change. But they don't look like they are built to last. Anyone have one of these lights?

Something like that I'd have to see it again. I do remember Sandrine Holt being in that. And I need to change my vote - since a movie about a U-boat isn't exactly outdoors. How about a series, like Band of Brothers.
-
For anyone who liked 'Man called Horse' check out a flick called 'Black Robe'.
-
Well, my take on benches for camp is for coolers or gear not for the seats at the pit. I mean the thing is with a portable folding / lawn chair you can quickly move it to be closer to the fire, away from the smoke etc.
-
Well got the target core replaced, and the back yard is open. But haven't been shooting like I want to, sprained wrist last month. Pulling back on the Bow I can tell not all is well yet. And here I am trying to get work done on the camper - :-X

Ethanol is crap. The oil industry knows it. The U.S. Dept. of Energy is forcing a serious smoke enema up our collective @ss.

I'll second the Yardage Pro. Had mine for a few years, nothing fancy but it works. It was on sale at the time but I know it was under 200$.

Yeah -- well the 1st Under Seige was good.

What is, the difference between this thread and the AR guys seeping their cause into every other section of this forum like vines? Realy none. Because oh fracking no, they certanly can't keep there 'matter' in one place. They need it too seep into everywhere else just like oil seeping out of the Arizona. How else can they get attention.
