  1. I kick myself for not buying a .35 Marlin lever when I had the chance. One of these days..
  2. Got a better solution for you quote junkies; "climber".
  3. Thought of ordering from Saratoga, they have screaming deals it seems. But I don't need 100 of something.
  4. Not sure about a tiller you would drag, and from using tillers I can say a rear tine wouldn't bounce like a front tines would. But I don't need a 3 horse garden tiller, I need something that can get down to business. So 5 horse should have enough balls I would think.
  5. I've been looking into rear tine tillers, before I drop 600$ I got a question for you guys that have used both regular & counter-rotating tillers in woodland, or I guess non conditioned plot areas. Frankentiller, an 8hp rental works good but would sort of 'jump' when you encountered a huge root or flat rock it couldn't deal with. So I'm imagining a counter rotation might be dangerous in that situation. Yet I hear they are better at churning soil. Is the counter rotation that much of an advantage? Figgure instead of spending 200-300$ on rentals look into buying one.
  6. Well those look darn good, might have to peek into what it takes to make them. What I do know is I've done 6 batches of venison jerky since last season and if I don't keep a small private stash it disapears quick! "You gotta make more"...
  7. Ultimatecamo treebark pattern. Was wearing it on all my bow hunts this year.
  8. Yes the tie thing was messed up but it's not a public place it's a place of employment. Tell you what's realy messed up; Aguilera singing the anthem, great - I'll need a shot of penicillan before the game, we have the black eyed peas at 1/2 time - over dubbed nagging crapp. I'll have to have some alt. entertainment cued up. And now I'm reading bestbuy will have a commercial with Ozzy & bieber. Straight up I can't stand that little snot weasle. My team finally get's back to the S/B and the media is throwing this at me.
  9. Sounds ok if you got the property. Mid feb seems odd. Good luck.
  10. That picture gave me Subic Bay flashbacks.
  11. I am having AT flashbacks .. ???
  12. Hate dozing off and having one of these things sneek up on me..
  13. No offence but that's a bad running joke. I would respect what he has done to promote hunting and 2nd amendment rights but the man would make a terrible potus, too much hate. Put him in charge of the Southern border, maybe.
  14. 12 Plots! Wow more power to ya. Nice pics that 2nd one reminds me of an old logging trail I worked into a plot-strip. Of course mine didn't turn out as well but I think I know what I did wrong. I got one of those hand turn broadcasters from C/T, works good. And hopefully budget a decent rear tine instead of renting one again. That would give me more time to work in two more spots similar to the 4th pic (w/ deer in it). There are no open fields or flat open areas larger then 1/8 acre maybe, it is what it is but I like it.
  15. I could use 3 cams, another ladder stand, & a 5-6 hp reartine tiller.
  16. Nice looking mount. Not to pry but could you say aprox what that cost to get done?
  17. High - scoring on the last day of Sept. & using a prior year tag. Low(s) - running out of doe tags, fried the power inverter, fried an 18v charger, destroyed the new tent for the most part.
  18. Very cool Cake Looks like the deer knows about the last stand perk in CoD 4.
  19. jimbodwb; Depending on where you are in cny I can think of a few shops you can look at. AJ's is out past Cazenovia, Legends of the Fall I think just south of Tully & even Ra-Lins can help set you up. If you can set aside a few minutes with a tech have them watch your draw and make correction recomendations etc. Some shops have indoor ranges, or you might look into a club that has one. If your anywhere near Fulton I can recomend one
  20. It is ovious the Buck is a distraction to the students and their studies. Cornell should feel free to have the animal transferred to my lease so it wouldn't be a bother on their landscape. A sacrifice for higher education.
  21. I think most people are smart enough to know drives would be done anyway. I don't see alot of difference in a planned drive, or simply taking advantage of a position when knowing other hunters are moving in / out of the woods.
  22. What are you talking about? If its broke dont fix it? What are you talking about? Nobody is convincing me the seasons are broken at all. Seems to me it boils down to people wanting the best season for their preferred weapon, oh yeah of that particular year. Since moving into a lease in the NZ I've had to deal with some abrupt season changes, so I dealt with it. How about all the noise the waterfoul hunters make hmmm? Shall all the Turkey & deer hunters band together and vote to shorten their season too? This is the same BS I read on almost every hunting forum there is, every year. And it's getting fracking old. One more thing, any of you guys that want to shorten my Bow season can pack sand.
  23. The problem I had scouting Cicero Swamp was I found the landscape to be very unwavering. In other words it felt like everywhere I was was like everywhere else there. Made use of my compass I can say.
