  1. I’ll add to this. For the metal heads, Lamb of God covering Wake Up Dead with Dave Mustaine on backup vocals.
  2. I don’t own a .380, I have a couple 9mm’s. I’ve been a bit snobbish about the .380 and dismissed the round. However, I have held and shot a few, and I’m coming around to the idea of getting a sub compact .380 for a warm weather carry gun. OP, congrats on the new pistol. I have an old Star in 9mm, made in Spain. All steel, heavy to carry, but it’s build very well.
  3. Also for the quick release swivel stud that is not on the base of grip area, Thordsen relocated it to the side of the enhanced buffer tube cover. That’s an easy swap if you need. https://www.thordsencustoms.com/enhanced-buffer-tube-cover-kit-black/.html also there’s this: https://www.thordsencustoms.com/bottom-mount-mash-hook-loop/.html
  4. If you remove the rubber butt plate, there are 2 long allen head socket cap screws that hold the spacer stacks to the main stock. Remove the screws, and the spacer stacks will come off. If it were me, I'd remove them, take the one you want the swivel in, locate the center on the bottom, use a punch to get a hole location, drill a hole for the swivel stud, and if the stud is long enough, add a hex nut to the stud on the inner portion of the spacer stack. Add epoxy or loctite. I cant remember what the inner body looks like, its not solid, but its not wide open either. Might need to dremel out a small pocket for the nut to sit, back filling with epoxy would be added security. Knurled threaded insert is also an option, Drill the exact hole needed, once you thread in the stud, the insert expands, and the knurls bite the surrounding hole, but again, its only a friction fit with minor mechanical tooth.
  5. I’m certainly no expert, but I only use brushes if it has a lot of build up. Even then, it’s the first step to loosen it up, patches and solvents only afterwards.
  6. I have a Mean Arms mag lock, and I don’t know how it can be argued it’s not legal. It’s not removable without drilling it out. I’ve thought of this a few times myself. I’m not a rich man, but I’ve decided that I could live with the decision if I were to destroy a lower in an attempt to reverse something while not in NY. If it survives great…if not, off to the gun shop for $100 Anderson.
  7. Looks like fun. I have a Beeman PCP rife, and its suprisingly accurate with the right pellet. Every so often I set up a homemade pellet trap in the garage, and plink with the Red Ryder or CO2 pistols. PCP is a bit much for indoors as you also stated. Being in the burbs also puts a kibosh on back yard plinking.
  8. Well, if the current prices or highter are here in the fall, I will definately be less picky as I was last season. I passed up alot of deer waiting for a mature buck.
  9. Gem Diner is a good spot if your looking to grab some breakfast. Dinosaur BBQ is a good one, as well as Limp Lizard. Rise N Shine Diner is another good one, but you better go hungry!
  10. The EV trend right now is in its infancy. The technology is pretty cool in itself. Its a shame its as politicized as it is. I think some of the trucks are very capable vehicles, but I'm not on board until the charging stations are as common as today's gas stations, and I can be back on the road in less than 10 minutes. That being said, Ive heard analysts predict within the next 20-30 years there will be a 25-35% mix of EV's and gas burner/hybrids(what ever the progression of today's vehicle is by then). As much as the talking heads and even the automakers claim to be totally EV/emission free by 2030, its just not feasible. IF that $5B is actually spent on exactly what it says and not pissed away on stupid shit, charging stations and such would only barely be in place by then, and paid for by us the tax payer.
  11. Maybe your Walmart has a better selection. The Cicero one has had a very lackluster hunting department this past season. There wasn’t much in the way of clothing….or anything else.
  12. I carry a Shield as well, and also have been thinking of looking for something smaller. I’ve handled the Ruger LCP Max, but I admit I’m not a fan of the .380 round. I’ve also held a Sig P365, and that was very comfortable. I haven’t held the Hellcat yet….if you get it, let us know how it feels.
  13. I carry mine from time to time. I have a few shotguns to choose from. If I plan on walking a lot, Or if I’m home in Onondaga county. If I’m sitting elsewhere, usually I have the rifle. Actually killed a doe with the 12ga at Thanksgiving this year….sabot slugs are expensive, woof!
  14. My dad and his wife claim to hear them at night. I’ve got a pair on camera at all hours of the night. My plan is to begin the setups just before dark and work my way between setups. 20-30 minutes each spot.
  15. Evening. I am going to try to get down to my dads a few times within the next month or two to try calling in some coyotes. his property isn’t huge, but I have access to other family members land that is not too far away. If I have 3 spots planned for set ups, is it worth my while to hit spots 1,2,3…wait a little bit, and hit 1,2,3 again? Farthest spots would be about a mile drive, maybe a little less as the crow flies. thanks in advance.
  16. Aside from favorites…what’s on everyone’s shortlist to buy? never been a fan of the .380 round due to having a 9mm. BUT, some of the sub compact .380 pistols are amazingly comfortable to carry IWB, I’ve tried a few out at the gun store. I’m actually really impressed with the Ruger LCP Max.
  17. You carry a judge? I’ve held one and all I could think of was sciatica at the notion of it as a carry gun. My Shield sometimes feels too big.
  18. I have two climbers, so this one is going. Older steel Viper. Cables are in good shape, replaced the shrink wrap a few years back. Has a gear pouch, hoist rope, Third Hand stability straps and bow holder. Sling seat has rips in the fabric, but still functions as it should. $80obo. Located in the Syracuse area.
  19. Thanks for the reminder. Did mine about a month ago now. Also checked my Dads status and will be helping him navigate the internet. My mom got hers all done too.
  20. Forged in Fire is on Netflix, good show if you just want to have something on to kill time.
  21. Out for one final short sit, then taking the blind down and packing out. Been a long season. Plenty of excitement throughout, but in a way, I’m glad it’s over. Happy New Years!
  22. I was thinking of going out this afternoon…weather says freezing rain, I may pass and go in the morning instead.
