  1. open sights to start. My kids were shooting Shoot n see targets at 25 yards. Add optics later.
  2. I have a keystone .22 single shot for my boys. They will out grow it quickly. The single shot is nice for early safety learning. A typical bolt action would be awesome, as the easy learning stages, just load the mag with one round and build upon that. Ruger American is a nice rifle. 10/22 is a staple. I recently bought a Rossi RS22 semi auto, it’s a great little rifle so far. Small and light, it’s essentially the same as a Mossberg 702 Plinkster. https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/rifles/rossi-rs22-blackfde-semi-automatic-rifle-22-long-rifle-185in/p/1503925
  3. Oh it’s straight up Bull$hit of the highest order. FUKH is worse than Andy.
  4. I’ll likely be dropping over the PA border from time to time now. Hopefully this all gets thrown out. It really sucks for the small local shops, this will likely end up being a death blow to them.
  5. I like to think I don’t go crazy…wash all my clothes with scent free detergent. I shower with scent free soap either the night before or the morning of a hunt. Clothes are stored in a regular plastic tote from Walmart all season long, between the truck bed and garage. Rewash base layers frequently, outer wear gets washed maybe once or twice throughout the season. Usually I spray down quickly with a mixture of baking soda and water before I walk in. And definitely play the wind on what stand/spot I head to. side note: outer wear gets sprayed with permethrin and let set overnight before going back in the tote.
  6. Pretty sure, as of right now today(7/10/22)...its still legal to sell ammo to another person without an FFL or BGC.
  7. I just recertified this past January. the NYS website says i dont need to recert till 2026...we'll see how long it takes for that to update.
  8. Ok. I can’t read that legal speak. Anyone with a knack for it, is there a layman’s summary for the key points? I’ve had my permit since 2010, and was upgraded to no restrictions a few years ago.
  9. Same as most have said. I like to get out, but it’s very weather dependent. I have a spot in the NZ so I do like to take advantage of early muzzleloader as well for that freezer filler. Again with gas the way it is, I’m more likely to shoot the first deer I see and not be picky.
  10. Put the mower on the level driveway, or garage floor. Measure both sides of the deck to the floor to see how far your off. You can likely add or remove air from your tires to compensate the lean, if you can’t adjust the height via mechanical points from the chassis to the deck. sharp/new blades would definitely be on the list as well.
  11. I got upgraded a few years ago. I dont carry often...but when I do, I keep my mouth shut about it. What they don't know... I wonder if I'll have to do any future back pedaling from Führer Hochul's dictates?!?!
  12. Having one while putting tools and things away in the garage…
  13. Sweet rig! The green riser looks awesome!
  14. This would likely work quite well for targeting those muscle groups. https://www.amazon.com/Synergee-Resistance-Portable-Collapsible-Outdoors/dp/B086R2CG48/ref=asc_df_B086R2CG48/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459710755857&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9379590672183479712&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005171&hvtargid=pla-920763649366&psc=1
  15. Hey everyone. A chilly start this morning. Carter and I took our little boat out on the Seneca River. We both pulled in 22 fish. He keeps count let me tell ya! Mostly dinks, sunnies and rock bass. But he hauled in a nice LMB using worms and a drop shot.
  16. Very cool! My son and I saw a momma and new fawn the other day. It’s funny how small they are brand new.
  17. A Molle frame is a big help! Attach all straps to the frame points, lash the frame to the platform. Adds about a pound of weight.
  18. Evening folks. I got the boys out again for fishing. Once again, my youngest is out fishing me and my oldest combined. He got two decent large mouth and a 21” walleye on Oneida Lake. We’ll have the walleye tomorrow for dinner.
  19. Hey everyone! I took my 9 year old out for the second time so far, and he was hammering the rock bass on Oneida. He also managed to get a decent bullhead out from under the docks. He for sure out fishes me, he’s also comfortable taking most of the fish off the hook and putting them back in the water.
  20. I use the Molle frame on my summit. Some felt and some really heavy duty zip ties to secure the Molle frame to the stand.
  21. He was talking about it on his show on WSYR. I haven’t read the column yet, but he was a bit vague on some things other than he said it was affecting his personal life and family. I enjoy his show somewhat. There’s times he gets a little preachy for me, but I wish him the best regardless.
  22. Good luck! You working out in addition to the diet? Usually helps speed things up.
  23. Hey all. I have some pellets in .177 up for sale. My gun doesn’t like these, and I’ve settled on a pellet that shoots great for me. I’ll sell this lot of 5 Tins for $20. Prefer ftf in the Syracuse area, not looking to ship.
