  1. Climber: Can see farther, better scent control, can move around a little more without getting pegged
  2. Your best bet is to locate flock, run thru the middle of them, sit and wait and call them back. Guys will use dogs for fall bird hunting. Fall birds are typically tight lipped as the toms aren't looking for love like the spring.
  3. Look how quickly I derailed this post too
  4. I quoted your empty box with only a period in it and if you look at the post it now says EDITED with your drawing you did on an Etch a Sketch
  5. Before you edited you had posted a blank post saying nothing
  6. This maybe the most intelligent thing you've ever said
  7. Actually his avatar is much cooler than yours
  8. Wait til the scumbag writes a book and makes money off his 2 month evasion and how he did it
  9. My buddy hunts grouse and woodcock with a LC Smith side by side 20 gauge that turned a 100 years old this year. It's in pristeen condition too.
  10. It's usually multiple many tined bucks that this happens to. The more the points the better the chance they lock up Saw a pick of 2 great bucks locked up and found in a pond in Marilla , NY last year. Dang shame
  11. Every year the night before gun opener I tell the wife it's good luck to have sex . Some year it'll work
  12. Ha, I know the name from Trapperman forum. That guy knows his steel and coyotes ! Probably one of the best coyote trappers in the country if not the best
  13. ""He got 220 coyotes along the 20 miles he was trapping. An average of 10 dogs every mile"" Would love to see a pic of all that fur put up
  14. Question : Mind you I try and keep my hunting clothes as odor free as possible. Wash them before season and when needed but don't hang them outside or put them in a tub just back of car. Never really sold on Scentlock and the merchandising. I play the wind So here's my question : During gun season, deer can't smell all the gun oil and Hoppe's #9 on your guns? Gotta think that's a pretty strong odor for them to pick up on. Everytime i open my safe I can smell it. Just curious Ozonics not for me.
  15. Wouldn't worry about spooking those 2 .There's a lot more than 2 deer in the woods. They'll forget about it soon anyhow.
  16. Here's the deal, I have an old H & R single shot 12 bore with rifle sights and smooth bore. Friend bought me a duck stamp and I have a box of steel shot 4's. I was thinking about flogging some ducks off my brothers trout stream and swamp. Woodies mostly . A few black ducks too. Any idea on what choke this gun is ? Shots will all be pretty close range. I did manage to shoot a nice drake woodie a few years ago with same gun and about 15 minutes later smashed a nice tom turkey for 2/3's of a tur-duc-hen at 10 yards. My guess would be improved cylinder. Unfortunately my other 2 shotguns are slug guns
  17. Congrats on the deer. I'll fess up and admit I also shot a button years ago thinking it was a doe. I've now learned to notice the block head and that a solo deer has a good chance of being a button vs a solo doe. Backstraps on the skillet today ?
  18. Awesome first buck ! Congrats on the retrieval . Well played all around
  19. Envious of traditions like these. My only tradition sadly is I hunt opening day and turkey day morning. I hunt solo but someday would love to get into a group hunt at camp like that. Driving deer already ?
