  1. I don't think he was actually suggesting someone take her out. His problem is that there have been so many examples already of him saying outlandish things, that it's easy for some people to believe he would make such a statement. The most recent example is his accusing Obama of actually creating ISIS. When questioned afterward about his statement, he clarified that, yes, he did in fact mean to suggest that Obama created ISIS. Then, the next day, he claims he was just being sarcastic. He is his own worst enemy. This is why he has the reputation of being a loose cannon. I'm all for the non-PC approach. But, I think he uses the PC angle to cover for the fact that he really is a loose cannon.
  2. I'm not familiar with paint-on membranes. But, I've always used a vapor barrier behind the cement board. You can use tar paper.
  3. Not a plumber. But, that sounds like a blocked main drain.
  4. I found a picture of oats that looks kinda similar. Would that make sense for Otsego County?
  5. thanks for the suggestions. I googled sorghum, buckwheat, and tricticale- no match. The height was about 30 inches. I thought it looked like wheat, but with much fewer 'seeds' at the tops. It looked pretty straight.
  6. It did look similar. But, there were far fewer seeds?' at the top of each stem compared to what I'm seeing on google images.
  7. I walked my property this weekend for the first time since late May. My neighbor has had corn planted each of the past two years. This time, about half the field is something different and I'd love to know what it is. I should have taken pictures, but didn't have my phone with me. The field is thick with something that looks a bit like wheat to me. But, I know very little about farming and can't be sure. I did some looking on Google images and haven't found pictures of anything that looked exactly like it. I checked wheat, oats, barley, golden rod, etc. The deer seemed to like it- there were loads of trails into it and we bumped a few deer bedded in it. I know this is not much to go on. But any suggestions as to what it might be would be appreciated.
  8. Whatever you're gonna do, you should do it soon. The last thing you want to have to do is work this stuff out in the woods on opening day after bumping into your new neighbor. Good advice to seek the neighbor out. It couldn't hurt to stretch the truth a little and tell him that you have a large hunting group and definitely plan to post someone near that stand.
  9. breaded and fried zucchini sticks. that's actually what I'm making tonight.
  10. AT, you're right, I'm sure. But, the problem is the fact that some don't recognize the difference between science and opinion.
  11. A fast action six weight is pretty versatile. Probably at least eight feet for bass flies.
  12. It is nice to have that large platform to fish from. But, it's a pain in the ass to have the boat constantly spinning out of position while you're trying to cast to a shoreline.
  13. I have done a lot of fishing from a pontoon boat- my brother is quadriplegic and uses a power wheelchair, so pontoons are the only type of boat that he can get onto. They are not ideal for fishing from. Really hard to keep properly positioned while drifting, even with a trolling motor. Also really tough in any kind of wind.
  14. Can you not just shim it on the low side?
  15. It's often difficult to get a mortgage for just land- at least if the purpose of that land is specifically recreational.
  16. Bowguy, the point is that there is a difference between a theory and a scientifically proven fact. Yes, theories are only theories- until they have been tested. Scientific studies are done based on theories. A properly performed study will either prove or disprove a theory. When a large number of studies have been completed and found similar results, and if these studies are peer-reviewed and accepted, a theory has been proven. It is at this point that the only option for those who prefer to remain ignorant is to deny science. Yes, there have been studies done by 'scientists' who are on someone's payroll or who have an agenda. These studies do not pass the 'peer-reviewed' process and never get published in respected scientific journals. They will usually only be used as propaganda by the companies that funded the study.
  17. Oh please. Then, why don't you define 'scientific consensus' for us? Or, is there no such thing in the world of science denial?
  18. Nonsense. There is no such thing as an 'empirically proven cause'. There is 'empirical evidence'- which is an observation or data. Observations lead to theories. Theories are tested using the 'scientific method'. Data is collected. A scientific consensus means that an overwhelming number of independent scientists have arrived at the same conclusions.
  19. I have used both. I'd definitely recommend buying the pex tool and using the crimp rings. It costs about sixty bucks and is worth every penny.
  20. I have, many times. Pex is the best thing ever. Easy to work with, especially for non-professionals.
  21. Do you know which models they are?
  22. I'm in 1C also. I might be interested in the lock-ons. Would you consider selling them separately?
  23. Fresh sea bass and porgy filets that my six year old caught yesterday on a party boat out of Captree while I puked my guts up over the rail.
  24. Hi Culver. I'm sure we agree that opinions have no place in science. I don't claim to be an expert on climate science and I'm sure you don't either. But, the studies that I've referred to are conducted by experts. Do you actually believe that 97% of scientists are biased toward one particular agenda?
