The question of whether or not your daughter should get the shot should be discussed with her doctor. As a parent, if either of my kids had a condition that compromised their immune system, I would want family members who have regular contact with the child to have gotten the shot. The flu is a serious problem.

Interesting that there were so many posts about this show before it aired, but none after. I saw only a few minutes of it and thought it seemed fair. I didn't get the impression that they were equating 'trophy hunting' with the type of hunting that most of us do on a regular basis.

I would think you’ll be fine. As others have mentioned, as long as you blew out your water lines well. I had the same problem with the shower trap as First Light. Now I make sure to pour some antifreeze in the drain after a shower. For the toilet, I use a siphon to empty the tank and bowl before pouring in the antifreeze- the type of siphon you’d use to fill a kerosene heater. I’m hoping to get up to my place in the coming weeks and plan to turn the water on and use the shower.

We go out of Point Lookout a lot. That’s not far from you. But, you definitely need a boat there.

AT, where on the Island are you located? Without a boat and a dog, your options are limited. Access on the island is tough, especially out east. Look into Southaven. I haven’t hunted there, but one of my duck hunting buddies has and he says it’s pretty good. It’s a walk-in deal and you don’t need a boat or dog. A great way to make contacts is to join the local DU chapter and become active in it. The guy I hunt with started that way and made some great contacts who were very generous with their time and experience.

Congrats Reeltime. But, I’m confused. I have a seven year old who I’m looking forward to hunting with. You mentioned the ages of your young hunters as ten and eleven. I thought that the youngest a hunter could be in NY was 14. Am I mistaken?

Definitely will use loads of bore butter next time. It is loaded. Otherwise, I'd consider hitting it with a torch to warm it up a bit.

I have a 50 cal TC Omega and the breach plug is stuck. I'm cranking on it as hard as I can. The tool is starting to bend and I'm afraid it'll crack. Just sprayed a little Rem oil on the plug and will try again later. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I saw a major difference this weekend versus last. I hunt the edge of a large field. I watched a few younger bucks checking the does in the field Friday afternoon and a couple of mature bucks chasing pretty hard. Yesterday afternoon, I had five different bucks in the field and they were all pushing does around. The bigger bucks were the more aggressive. I watched a real nice buck chase a few other bucks away and then he bred a doe in the field. Had a four pointer chasing does early this morning. Had a couple of close encounters over the weekend, but didn't get a shot. Hope they're still active next weekend. I'm in 4F.

Maybe this weather will start the migration. Opener in two weeks in my area.

Philo, I think the meme is funny to the poster because it's an invitation to anti- Trumpers to a protest in Miami this weekend in the middle of the storm. Instead, it's actually funny because of the inability to spell of the creator of the meme or anyone who would post it.

I think that this is a question whose answers are really opinions, not fact. What might seem like a great investment to one person may not to someone else. It also depends on how you personally define 'investment '. If you're specifically referring to the prospect of a financial gain, you might answer differently than if you consider the reward to be the enjoyment you get from owning the land. For me, I hope that I'll never need to sell my place- if I do, I hope I won't lose money. Other than that, I consider it the best possible investment because of how much I enjoy owning it.

Whether or not you believe in scent control, for a few bucks, you could solve the issue. Sounds like you have a pretty good camp and hunting ground. Why let it fall apart when there's a relatively easy solution?

How about buying one of those 'scent crusher' clothes units? They probably don't cost too much and could solve the issue?
