  1. That makes two of us! But if there is any chance of a critter not seeing the blondie and all her fidgeting it will be in a blind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. 29 yds from the blind with mad dog. Come on next Wednesday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Had to get my copilot off the school bus now we are back at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It's a challenge, it's fun. It's another aspect of hunting that you have to "earn" it takes a lot of time on the range to become a proficient handgun shooter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don't know what a 1100 acre lease is worth but I made 13k last year getting mine. I only work 3 or 4 days a week at my real job so I have plenty of spare time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I only work when I want after oct 1, and I don't want to very often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. I'm certainly not willing to jerk off a dog but I do bust my butt to have permission to hunt a 1100 acre farm. Four years ago I knocked on his door and asked for permission to hunt, he said no. I asked if he needed any help around the farm and he said no because he needed truck drivers and I didn't have my Cdl license. That winter I paid out of pocket to get my Cdl and after getting it I knocked on his door again and told him that I now had my Cdl and was willing to work on my days off. Now 4 years later I am the one that decides who if anyone else can hunt the farm. Last night I worked a 12hr overnight shift and now I'm sitting in a sweltering truck with no radio or air conditioning and it is more than worth it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My post wasn't meant as a complaint and my feelings are certainly not hurt. Clearly my point wasn't well made. You absolutely have a right to an opinion, my post was simply let you know that your opinion came across condescending and judgmental of other hunters. I'm aware that you didn't mention those terms, that's why I put them in a different paragraph, maybe next time I'll put them in a different post as not to confuse you. Have a good day Doc and I hope you have a great season and have many chances to smell a deers breath! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I am reading in a couple other threads all the prep work that others are doing with their hunting clothes. Am I the only one that does nothing? My clothes are washed with tide they are hung above the dogs kennel in the mud room. I don't use any sprays. The only time I do anything is I put them in a plastic tote on my way to camp because I have a regular cab truck and want them dry in the bed. Anyone else like me? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This is the exact reason why hunter numbers are dropping at an alarming rate! To be honest I'm surprised and disappointed that it is coming from you doc. So because someone doesn't hunt they way you hunt or think hunting should be they aren't "actual HUNTING" and are "cheating themselves" comments like these make you no better than the "why did you shoot that 2yr old" club. If you're doing it legally/ safely and although I despise this term "ethically" all the power to you and enjoy the greatest pastime! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Oh yea with the long bow I'm aiming for the middle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have used chain to fix them but never tried a cable. Don't see why a cable wouldn't work. Don't know what you would need someone to do it for you? Short piece of cable double the cable clamps on both ends and you're done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Mine hand beside my wood stove. Get thrown in a Rubbermaid tote if I'm traveling somewhere. Wood stove keeps them dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If in a tree I'll go with furthest forward. That arrow has a very good chance of exiting and will get lungs and heart. If on the ground I'm going with furthest back because I want 2 holes. 200yds with good blood beats 75 with none any day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. This is the same bullet I use when I carry one of my 7mm08's, if you're worried about the price they shoot almost identical to Winchester white box of the same grain so that wants I use for practice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I prefer 5-7lbs as long as they're clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Not a 94 but a 92 clone. I am a huge colonel cooper fan but I just can't get my head around the scout scope idea after a few tries on different guns. If you decide to do it I will sell you that Burris scout scope for pretty reasonable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Unfortunately not handicap just a scumbag, but an honest scumbag I have to give him that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. 2x4=8 3+5=8 Good try idiot! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Keeping your head in the sand and ignoring information that goes against your ideas, are you a politician by chance? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Busy night at work so I figured I would take a poll of my coworkers that hunt in an effort to back your hypothesis. I work in a town that is on the boarder of southern and northern zone at the foothills of the Adirondacks so it is a pretty good variety of hunters. Of the hunters I asked 18 were willing to answer me on how many deer they have wounded in their lives and how many per implement "gun/bow." 3 said 0- wounded deer 5 said 1- 3 with a bow and 2 with a gun 4 said 2- 4 with each 1 said 3- 3 with gun 2 said 4- 3 with bow 5 with gun 1 said 5- all with gun doesn't bow hunt 1 said 6- 1 with bow 5 with gun 1 said unknown- doesn't get out of truck unless it drops in the field 35 wounded deer 11 bow 24gun That's 2-1 gun over bow from my small poll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I say we start a pole, in 18 years of deer hunting I am up around 100 deer killed and have wounded 3 deer 2 with gun and 1 with bow. I have only found 3 dead deer in the woods 1 during bow season and had a bullet hole in his neck the other 2 were during guns season and freshly killed. So far your statistics and my statistics oppose each other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. No, it will kill'em but getting an exit is very unlikely and from a tree stand your entrance will be high and will likely get very little blood. Handguns tend to kill from blood loss and if they ain't leaking blood on the ground it makes it tough to find them. I won't Cary a pistol bullet that won't exit a broadside deer.
