How Early Before Sunrise Do You Get In Your Stand?
Buckmaster7600 replied to buffalojay83's topic in Bow Hunting
At least an hr hr and a half is better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Still hunted all day with the bow drove across the river and I'm gun hunting for the last hr. While I was climbing in my stand I had a basket 6 chase a doe by me at 15yds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All my blinds have office chairs in them. Take the wheels off and they don't sink in. They are heavy to get out there but are the best thing I have found as they are silent and comfy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I promised my daughter I would have breakfast with her on her birthday so I didn't get to the woods until 8:30. Nov 10 had been a good day for me planning on being in the woods all day and with quiet leaves it's a perfect day for still hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is what I did when I wanted to hunt Ohio. Did my research to figure out what counties I wanted to be in. Watched the forecast and waited for a couple rainy days in a row. Booked a hotel drove 11hrs stayed in hotel dressed in nice cloths and started driving around knocking on doors. Got told no a lot but on the second day I knocked on a door that an elderly lady answered she was super nice and said she would get her husband. He came out and was the nicest old man I have ever spoken to. They are retired and have no family around. Long story short I now have a 200acre farm that my brother father and I "lease" for 600$ a year and I had to talk them into taking that. We go out 2 or 3 times a year just to visit and help them when possible. My father and brother are out there now and yesterday raked their lawn for them. He still hunts a little but struggles to get around, last winter I bought a 500$ 4wheeler that I fixed up and gave to him this spring and you would have thought I handed them a million dollar check. The land is out there you just have to work for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes some are louder but if a safety is loud enough to spook a deer at 30yds something is broken or the XBow should be in the trash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What to do after punching your archery buck tag
Buckmaster7600 replied to wolc123's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
This is the exact reason why I am so stingy with my tags, nothing worse that not hunting during deer season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Does anyone else enjoy finding signposts as much as me. Every time I find one I just imagine how many bucks have rubbed this same tree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Favorite .308 factory ammo for deer?
Buckmaster7600 replied to Jdubs's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Barnes ttsx or Winchester ballistic silvertip. I use both and they both perform phenomenally. I have used 150's and 180's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Nothing I like more than tracking a buck in bare ground and coming up on a sappy fresh rub that a buck made within minutes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I voted, I took a pole at work today and of the 43 people that I got answers from "only 1 didn't" I got 41 trump 1 write in and 1 Hillary. My daughters elementary school did an election and the results were 183 trump 71 Hillary. I only hope the nation follows these trends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes year round, I don't remember the model. The only thing I do is keep a stake in the center of the roof when I'm not in them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have 3 double bulls and after 4 years of never coming down they are in perfect condition other than faded. I don't use hen often but if I was buying another today it would be a double bull. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What type of .30-06 ammunition to use for deer hunting?
Buckmaster7600 replied to mossy725's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
The thing about accuracy is its all subjective. A 1" group is great at 100yds but I would guess that over 95% of hunters have never shot their rifles at targets beyond 200yds. Who cares if your rifle should shoot a 4" group at 400 when most hunters have no clue where it will hit when it gets there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What type of .30-06 ammunition to use for deer hunting?
Buckmaster7600 replied to mossy725's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
If that was the case why wouldn't you have used a 223, it wouldn't need as big of a hole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My leupold is 10 years old and had worked flawless. I think it's still on the original batteries. I think it's an rx 800 or something like that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I shower once a week if I need it or not, I think I washed my hunting clothes last year but it might have been the year before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What type of .30-06 ammunition to use for deer hunting?
Buckmaster7600 replied to mossy725's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
There are a bunch of things I think are more important than accuracy. I shoot a lot and 99% of it is freehand and I don't know of anyone that is pinpoint accurate freehand especially having walked X amount of miles to get to that shot, being out of breath, shooting free hand and being in a hurry accuracy suffers. There are people who are way better at the game than me but if I'm tacking I have snow and I know I will find the deer so I try to get a good one in them and as many as I can after that. Most guys that I know that still hunt and track don't even use scopes. Hunting the big woods and tracking is my passion it's how I grew up hunting. My views on topics are vastly different from many who have never done it. I will take shots that most would consider "unethical" if my scope is sighted in and I'm not checking to make sure it still is on I don't shoot from a rest. My family has an old stone pit that we roll tired of the bank with cardboard inside to practice shooting at running deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What shot makes a deer kick up hind legs?
Buckmaster7600 replied to older042's topic in Deer Hunting
The only thing that you can tell about a shot when a deer kicks up its legs is that you hit it. No deer acts the same as another shot he same way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
