Ticked off my SIL...
Buckmaster7600 replied to philoshop's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Oh it's comical trust me! She is a liberal hippy that is a child psychologist. To say we don't get along is an understatement. Everytime she brings up gun laws I promtly explain to her that drugs are illegal and that doesn't stop her from smoking pot and she gets pissed and doesn't talk to me for a while "but never long enough." -
That's a fact! If they were ever on sale I think I would have a lot more of them.

My favorite scopes that I own and have on I think 5 of my rifles Are the leupold vx-2 compact 3-9x33. I don't know if any of them have ever been over 3x in the woods but I like having it for sighting them in. I have never had a problem with low light during legal hrs with the smaller objective.

Oh how I miss being able to get a 500 brick of lightnings for under 10$. Thank god I was smart enough to buy thousands and thousands of them back then.

I have the luxury of being able to shoot in my backyard and in my basement so I shoot my Bow daily and rifles and pistols a few times a week. I can shoot out the to 600yds in my back yard and have a set up where we can shoot rifles at movers out to about 150 yds. So I would imagine I shoot way more than the average hunter. Yesterday I was hanging out at my LGS and I couldn't belive how busy he was and he was telling me how busy his last 3 weeks have been and I always thought that gun shops were busiest right before season. He explained that the weeks before gun seasons were busy but that most hunters have their rifle and need maybe a box of bullets for the year and then they are good. I guess I just never thought about it but it makes a lot of sense. My question is how often do you guys shoot with your hunting guns?

My sil is in the same boat so every year for the last 5 years I have gotten my daughter and father a gun for Christmas and make sure that I give them to them at our family Christmas get together. I get as much enjoyment out of her looks as I do watching my daughter and the old man opening them:) -
Anyone tried these Stands?
Buckmaster7600 replied to peepsight's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I have their climber and a few of their hanging and I love them! They needed a little tweaking but they'd are super light and easy to put up. -
I use 180gn barnes and they are the best middle ground that I have found for the 06. If I want heavier than 180 that's what I have my 358win, 35 whelen and 338-06.

Ever do anything stupid at the range ?
Buckmaster7600 replied to fasteddie's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I was a Range safety officer on Parris Island for just under 3 years I have witnessed recruits and Marines do more stupid things with rifles and pistols than anyone could possibly imagine. The stupidest thing I have done while shooting is I blew up a Glock barrel with one of my reloads that didn't exit the barrel. -
Ever do anything stupid at the range ?
Buckmaster7600 replied to fasteddie's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I have one of those huntsmans haven't shot it in years but I always hated that ram rod but for shooting at the range I always just extended it and left it out of the gun, if I was hunting on the ground I always had it extended as well. -
CCW pocket stuffer suggestions ..
Buckmaster7600 replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I too have big hands and the lcp doesn't fit my hand well but I don't think its really supposed to. I haven't found anything that I can put in my pocket that does fit my hands. Even with it not fitting my hand I still can shoot it plenty accurate at personal protection distances. -
Can't go wrong with a leupold. The II OR III's are both excellent scopes.

I have the lcp and lc9 for pocket carry. I carry in back pocket most of the time unless I'm wearing shorts. I carry my lcp just because it's a little smaller. Both beat the hell out of having a knife. -
HHA 1 pin no clutter and you will have more fun shooting at 70-100yds than you thought possible.

Prove it!!! Tomorrow shoot a video of a 3 shot group with this magic gun you pick the distance and the shooting position and After posting I'll do the same shot with one of my rifles and we will see who wins. I'm not dissing shotguns at all, I have killed plenty of deer with them but to compare the accuracy of a smoothbore with a bead to a Scoped rifle is ignorant. But the challenge has been layer out let's see what you do. At 100yds your standard 1/8" bead covers roughly 15" and about 16" at 120yds. Unless your browning shoots very high and allows you to lolly pop or 6 o'clock hold at that distance you would basically be covering the front half of the deer with your bead, not ideal for pinpoint accuracy let alone minute of deer.

In my pocket I consider it better than a stick or a knife but I hope whom ever I'm trying to kill doesn't have a gun or at least doesn't know how to use it!
