I would experiment with other ammo and if you have an issue with any keep the spent brass and check it for any gouges or bulges and use a micrometer to measure for consistency. If it is found to be a chamber issue although I don't think it is it would be a perfect candidate for a rebore to 338fed or 358win.

I'm assuming that when the gunsmith cycled the casings for you they were unfired?
-
The action still might work smoothly with no resistance and start to bind when there is resistance. It is almost certainly not a tight chamber because you would feel that while closing the slide.
-
Did u save any of the spent casing that "jammed?"
-
Technically this would be failure to extract but I think I'm following whatbyou are saying. I would bet it's one of the action bars on the slide. If they get bent or twisted they will cause the slide to "bind." The fact that it's only happened with some ammo is weird but if they are coming half way out of the chamber it pretty much alleviates the tight or dirty chamber idea. Holding the bolt release after the bolt is unlocked isn't doing anything unless the bolt release I broken or bent. Can u feel the action catching when moving the slide back and forth on an empty chamber?

At average hunting distances its minimal out past 5-600yds you will start to see effects. In the dessert where 80 degree changes in 12 hrs are common we never really worried about it until past 500m. With muzeloaders the powders are more susceptible to temp changes because they are not encased but with shorter max ranges it still doesn't amount to much of anything. The only exception I have found to this is the Jim shockey gold powder in my limited experience and testing I found as much as 6" in elevation variation at 150yds between 70 degrees and 0degrees. But this was also back when I used powerbelts and I know the ring on them contracted in the cold and that may have played a part in the fluctuation as well.

Failing to eject sry not extract.
-
Sounds like a junk! Might wanna give it to me cheap! On a serious note can you give a better description of the failure to eject? I have a half dozen 760's and 7600's so I have been inside them a lot. There was an issue with extraction where the bolt would lose the rim and the casing would stay in the chamber but that was a while ago and a limited number. As far as failing to extract they are a very simple design and aside from from "short shucking" or a broken pin I don't know what else it could be.

Even when I called I never sat for more than an hr after fly down. After that I was on my feet trying to close the distance, did I bump birds yes, did I see more birds and have more chances absolutely. I don't know how you guys have that kind of patience to sit for hrs waiting on a bird to come to you.

Who said you need a beagle

I pay 30$ an acre for hay fields I don't do any tilling so I'm guessing that would be more.

Hunting big woods I don't score on antlers I want weight so it's different for me but I am always looking for the next challenge. Next year I plan on doing all my gun hunting with a pistol. Still hunting the ADK's with just a Glock. Shooting a mature buck with my Glock will be my ultimate trophy. After that maybe I'll try it with my bow.

Gold tip pro hunters here they are indestructible and shoot great. I think I have an arrow that's killed 7 deer.

There is a few more pics of it on adk hunter.com

A 30 cal projectile at 650 fps is completely underpowered for deer and would not have enough energy to open a hollow point. That's over 1000fps slower than a 30 carbine and a 30 carbine is at the bottom of the spectrum for a deer cartridge.

Who said you need a beagle
Buckmaster7600 replied to Buckmaster7600's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
He's alot better at laying on the couch than he is at hunting but he will chase a fresh track as good as a beagle once in a while. -

How did you know it was a good shot if you lost it?

Find a local shop and give him a shot at getting what you want! My local guy can basically get anything in 3 days after I call him. It's not always as cheap but to me doing business locally is worth it. If I am asked for my permit while purchasing ammo I leave it on the counter and walk out! We have strict enough gun laws from the GOV. I don't need it from stores too. As far as the companies not selling to NY. Oh well it's hurting them more than me.

I can't think of a better PA elk cartridge than a 35whelen or a 358win. They work perfect inside of 300yds in CO.
-
I have a 300wsm but it has a 18" barrel so it's basllisticaly a 30-06. It kicks but not terribly. I think a 300wm is the 30-06 of bigger game as far a versatility. For deer it's not needed but will certainly do the job with the proper bullet.

Crosman Airbow, $849 air-powered arrows @ 450 FPS
Buckmaster7600 replied to Core's topic in General Hunting
I don't in any way consider that a bow, crossbow or Any type of archery but I would consider it cool as hell and now I want one! I don't know what I would do with it but that's never stopped me from buying stuff before! -
An impact velocity over 3000fps is asking a lot of a bullet. That's one of the reasons I don't carry my 270 anymore I had a few issues with bullets not staying together. Never had the same issues with anything under 3000fps mv.

Semi-auto shotgun recommendations ?
Buckmaster7600 replied to BaldguyLee's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Take a look at the franchi affinity. It's my favorite shotgun I own I think I got mine for 769$ in camo.
