  1. Does bird populations really play a big part in hunter success? The guys I know that kill 2 birds every spring kill 2 birds every spring regardless of population trends. The old saying about 90% of birds are killed by 10% of hunters is something I think is very true! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That probably matches the numbers of new hunters this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I do this regularly if there’s tracking snow. Not in woodlots but mountains. Do a lap along the bottom in the thick stuff then go straight over the top. Then circle back to where I started looking for a fresh track. This works especially well immediately following a fresh snow before they’ve had time to lay down tracks. It’s a lot of walking but if you can get one moving you know it’s a fresh track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yup takes 1 minute. Take the bolt out that the rail sits on, find a pin that fits in hole. Make sure the pins long enough. Sit in stand and lift rail up to where you’d want it for a gun rest and trace the edge of rail on stand. Drill a hole off the lines on both sides. Takes 1 second to change between bow and gun. 5. Drill 2 sets of holes and use pins for the rail to sit on. 1 for bow hunting and one set of holes for a gun rest. I’ve done this to work every ladder stand I own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I miss Monday openers. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore! That weekend at camp was awesome before it got serious on Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. This country is heading to war. There is a large portion on the “right,” a large portion going further left, a bunch in the middle and a few on the extremes. The ones on left want to take rights away from the right. The right is about done letting it happen. The problem is it won’t be a civil war. It will be the right against the world. It’s been in the making since right after WW2. Much of the world wants the US to become part of a world power because then they can control us in a way they’ve never been able to. I just hope that enough on the right have the balls and the love for this country to make the stand needed. The left in this country will fold like a cheap tent in a wind storm. It’s what the rest of the world powers do that will decide the fate of the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. What if the answer to fixing our healthcare system was less government, not more? I would love for someone to find me something that the government has taken more control that got less expensive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What a deer looks like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Growie is screaming at her kindle reading that! I agree, stupid unenforceable law that no one follows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I hung a stand this morning in an area that was heavily logged last winter. It’s probably the highest stand I’ve ever hung because the higher I went the more I could see so it’s got a 20ft ladder stick and 5 sticks. It’s thicker than hell and getting a shot might be tough but I should be able to see them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. First morning I’ve taken off since early October. After driving home from camp last night. Needed a break, I’m exhausted been putting in some serious miles in loud crunch conditions. Decided to come home regroup hunt opening day with my brother and probably head back up Sunday morning. It felt soooo good to sleep in this morning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. All things being equal shooting wise I’ll always go to copper but you can’t go wrong with either. Ballistic tips are my favorite cup and core bullet ever made. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. It’s funny because i took count after I hung up with him and I have 18 cartridges that I would consider suitable for deer and have at least 10 boxes for each, most many many more but I don’t own a 6.5creed. As I said before I admit to being a bit of a hoarder of ammo but I just can’t fathom having none for deer season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Just got an interesting phone call from an old co worker. Haven’t talked to him in almost 4 years and he called me a few minutes ago and asked me if I had a few 6.5creedmore bullets he could borrow because he shot all of his this summer and recently realized it and can’t find any in stores. Although I am a bit of an ammo hoarder I can’t imagine not having ammo for deer season. Anyone else in this position with the current ammo crisis? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wait until 2pm he won’t be far, dead ones don’t go anywhere but dead on there feat can go along ways!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m sure it’s up to the dec officers discretion but I was once told that a stand left on public land was for public use as long as it was not removed or tampered with. I was surprised by that answer and his response was “that’s why you don’t leave stands up on public land.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Andy can shove my turkey leg up his ass! I’ll have as many people at my house that I want! I plan on posting copious pictures of my extra large thanksgiving gathering on every social media outlet I can find with #fuckandrewcuomo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It absolutely does but that doesn’t bother the marketing department! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Been a tough 4 days in the big woods! Loud woods mixed with very little rut activity so far. Saw a small buck yesterday bedded mid day and let a pretty good buck go this afternoon. Hoping these next few cold days gets them moving. The 18th is historically my day to kill in the ADKS so hopefully it happens again. I’m here until turkey day unless I get one and will be back turkey night until season ends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Saw 6 bucks yesterday at my wood lot in sz. Fun day , a lot of chasing. Heading north today, have to be home on thanksgiving. Hope to have one dead before then. Snow coming early next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Been baking a cake I all day for daughters Bday party tonight “single dad” grabbed my rifle and ran to my blind for the last hour. Saw a deer in front of blind so snuck around to ladder standing in same field. 3 small bucks have been within 30yds and IMO wearing jeans cowboy boots and a flannel shirt. Other than getting soaked it’s been a good half hour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Happy birthday to all my fellow marines! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I also own a kubota side by side and it’s a tank! I use it like a tractor and it gets used very hard. It’s been bullet proof but it’s also zero fun to ride around because it’s slow and rides rough. I also have atv’s for fun if not I would have one of the other sportier side by sides. I’ve always been a Honda and Yamaha guy so I would go that direction. I would avoid Polaris after 2 bad experiences but there are guys that love them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
