    Hope you didn't take that the wrong way, I wasn't second guessing just asking. I remember the first doe I ever shot. I gut shot her and my Dad and I tracked her for what seemed like miles. We jumped her once and she was running away and I didn't shoot. My Dad was yelling at me asking why I didn't take the shot and I said I only has an @ss shot. I remember him yelling what are you going to do wound her more? Take the damn shot!!! That has stuck with me now for 20 years. We finally caught up to her in a bed that she was too weak to get out of and I put her down.

    That sucks WNY, I have been looking back all morning waiting for updates. You have to know you did everything you could and sometimes it just doesn't work out. Just curious why you didn't take the @SS shot? I don't ever condone that shot but on the few wounded deer I have tracked I figure anything goes.

    I shot this deer in the neck 3 seasons ago with my .308. He dropped where he stood and never twitched.

    Just saw the second deer I couldn't identify this morning. Thought it was going to come out in a lane. Nope...disappeared. thinking it bedded

    Good luck to everyone today. Loud walk in. Figured there would be no deer around after that walk. In stand at 6:07. Hear grunting and comotion 5 min later. Saw deer but to dark to tell what it was. First shot 6:21. Have seen 2 doe and had a spike come through as I was typing this.

    Congrats to everyone that tagged one today. Some beautiful deer went down. We had a slow day on the lease. Can't remember the last opening day that a nice buck wasn't taken. Last year I think there was 4 if I remember correctly and the two years before that I contributed to some really good opening days. Only deer down was a guest that shot a doe and was out be 8am. Back at it tomorrow.

    Had a doe come running almost straight at me. Went by my stand at 10 yrs. I'm thinking game on and keep watching where she came from. After 15 minutes or so I start relaxing and sit back and I catch movement again. Its another deer and I am looking for headgear. Can't find any. As it gets closer I can see 2 little spikes. Not even a legal buck. Still got the blood flowing.

    We got dumped on Thanksgiving morning a few seasons ago. I dont remember the year. Maybe 2015. I didn't want to trudge all the way to my normal spot there was so much snow. I saw a group of 4 doe in the couple hours I sat that morning and my buddy shot the biggest 6pt I have ever seen. I am no expert but I think tomorrow will be good. They probably bedded today for the storm. Tomorrow they have to eat and there is a hot doe the bucks will be after her. At least that my opinion.

    I was only teasing and assumed you meant you had a couple nice ones. I hope you tag one and fill your dmps. I know you use every scrap of meat those deer provide for your family and there aren't alot of us on here that can say that. Good luck!

    My wife had a 3 series xdrive. It was fun to drive but if I was by myself I always felt like I was driving a chick car. She has a new maxima now. It is terrible in the snow

    I would say we got about 6 inches here at my work in Malta, a little bit more at home in Saratoga. Hope there is a little less where I hunt in East Greenbush
