    Good luck

Good luck Paula, can't wait to see the pic of the bigun!
  2. That's awesome? Good luck! What does your wife drive if you drive the chick car? A truck?
  3. Got my first crossbow deer today. Good sized doe. She came in alone and gave me every opportunity to shoot her so I took the venison on my last archery sit of the season. After she was down I had two spikes come in. Got to watch them spar lightly which I have never witnessed before. Saw two more doe and about 4pm got another encounter with the wide white horned 8 when he came into about 25 yds but just wouldn't clear the thick brush. Would have loved to have harvested the 8 but I got an opportunity at a shooter...harvested a large doe and saw lots of deer. All and all it was a great archery season. On to rifle Saturday.
  4. Exciting end to my archery season Got the doe. Saw 2 spikes and watched them spar a little Had the wide white horned 8 I missed Sunday come in to 25 yds but would not come around the thick stuff. Couldn't close the deal on a buck but let several small ones walk and had two encounters with a target buck one of which I blew. Great season
  5. Big doe down. Can't believe she was by herself with nothing following
  6. Back in. Last chance for the crossbow. Seems perfect! Just need a big boy to cooperate
  7. Sitting in my truck waiting to head back in and just watched a buck cross the open field at 12:40 in the afternoon. Guess I am heading back in now
  8. Thought this was going to be one of those epic mornings when that little buck was chasing the doe and grunting like crazy at first light. Not a thing since.
  9. Been in my stand in 4k since 6. Feels like a perfect morning. 20 degrees almost no wind. Had a spike chasing a doe grunting like crazy around 6:30. Hope his grandfather comes through now that its legal time. Good luck today!
  10. So sorry for your loss, I had tears in my eyes reading that, thank you for sharing
  11. I choked epically on Sunday with what would have been far and away my biggest archery buck and maybe my biggest buck. I am hoping for that kind of redemption tomorrow with my crossbow. Beautiful Deer! Congrats!
  12. Thanks, you too, hoping for another crack at the wide white horned 8. Trying to decide if I should sit the same stand or a tripod we have about 150 yds away. I'll be shocked if he comes by that same stand again.
  13. I bought two buck bombs last week to use this past weekend. I used one of them. What I did was about 150 yds away from my stand I gave it a spray about every three steps. Then when I got to 20 yds of my stand I emptied what was left of the can where I would have loved a buck to stand and give me a shot. It didn't bring anything in but I did have a fawn run over the trail and paid it no mind. The stand I was hunting is placed between bedding and food (corn field) and the way the wind was blowing the scent would have been going into the corn instead of bedding which is also exactly the wind I want to hunt the stand. I was wondering if I would have had more luck if it was reversed and was blowing toward bedding. Not that you got your question answered but that is what I did with the buck bomb. I am going to try it again tomorrow.
  14. No tracks and to heavy to register like some side x sides. But that thing is awesome!
  15. Well just took tomorrow off to give it one more go with the crossbow. Looks like it should be a good day. Cold, light wind and hopefully the deer will be moving with the snow rolling in tomorrow night.
  16. A little scary looking being a black rifle....maybe you can paint it blue or something.... Sweet rig....
  17. I would probably just wait it out. If I somehow forgot my grunt tube that is always in my backpack I would forget my rattle bag also
  18. I actually had problems with my first one. It shot all over the place. After a year of fighting with Browning I got a replacement. The synthetic stock would be more practical but the wood was pretty I had to get it. Especially since they were the same price.
  19. This was my dream rifle and I finally bit the bullet and bought it few years ago. Browning BAR short trac in .308
