  1. Not a clue, but its very strange and a little spooky.
  2. It's hard to beat a Leupold. I have a number of them that have gone swimming in swamps or jumped from treestands, and they're still going strong.
  3. Put it on a seriously accurate squirrel gun, like a well-customised 10/22. They give up and fall out of the trees without a shot being fired just at the sight of it.
  4. I went back and used some surface-wobbler lures to catch a few of those pike, but I draw the line at baby turtles and ducklings. ;-]
  5. I was pike fishing on Sodus Bay many years ago and eased into an area near Hunter Point. There must have been a turtle 'hatch' going on and the pike were taking them off the surface in a frenzy. I managed to net a few of the little guys and transport them to another part of the bay where they were more likely to survive. One of the weirdest things I've ever seen.
  6. The south is not really trapping country, because the critters never really grow much fur. You could look into pest control as a side business though.
  7. Actually most on the left consider it 'agitprop', and part of the 'vast right wing conspiracy' to take down Clinton. In fact, " Clinton Cash" is the best piece of investigative journalism since Watergate, fully confirmed by even left-leaning news sources. Clinton is pi**ed that a few reporters are actually doing their jobs, and she wants to shut Breitbart down. The 1st Amendment was put in place to allow the press to act as a vocal check to the government by informing the citizens. Hillary Clinton does not like informed citizens.
  8. I won't argue with any of that, Core. I also won't give up the fight to inform these indoctrinated 'special snowflake' millennials, either. I'm in a college town, and it's the least I can do for my country. ;-] I'll probably be dead before they come to power anyway.
  9. SCOTUS rulings don't need to be 'pro gun'. They only need to uphold our national Constitution. That's their job. And there's a big difference between the two. 'Activist' judges from either side are detrimental to our country.
  10. Clinton and the DNC are currently looking for ways to restrict the 1st Amendment by claiming that Breitbart News is not a 'legitimate' news source and therefore should be silenced. Clinton would very much like to have only favorable press, which she absolutely gets from the MSM, and to he!! with those who disagree. If she should become President she will change the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the American way of life through her judicial appointments and other actions. This is not about choosing the lesser of two evils. This is about preventing an anti-American from getting a seat in the White House, to continue the anti-American sentiments of the last 7 1/2 years. A protest vote, or a non-vote, won't accomplish this. Please reconsider the gravity of this situation before you reject Trump simply because you don't like him. There's too much at stake to make 'personality' a major issue. I wouldn't so readily dismiss NYS in this particular election either. From what I've seen there seems to be a good deal of Trump support among the working class urbanites. If he can swing 25% or so, he has a real shot at it if the rest of the state gets out to vote. Sitting home on November 8 won't help.
  11. Clinton has already shown that the 'Rule of Law' doesn't apply to her.
  12. The key to longevity in the construction trades is having a good helper. Once I'm on my knees doing tile, laminate, or wood flooring I stay there and let the young guy do the legwork. I'm a short guy, which helps prevent back injuries, but my hips and knees are pretty well shot from all the years of 'up and down'.
  13. Watch the movie "Clinton Cash" to get a real sense of just how perverse this crime syndicate actually is. No thinking human being would ever vote her/them to the office of president. http://www.breitbart.com/clinton-cash-movie/
  14. I can't say for certain, but I would suspect bad batteries. Even testing them on a voltmeter doesn't really tell the story, because they have to be tested under load to get a true assessment. This comes from years of experience with power tools and model airplanes. Just because the batteries check out at xx.x voltage doesn't mean that they will hold to that voltage when subjected to a working load. Wish I could offer more, guys.
  15. Neither Clinton nor Trump will 'go nuclear'. The difference is that Trump is trying to prevent that scenario from happening by others through strength of leadership. Clinton is trying to prevent it through appeasement to the others. And she's trying to increase her personal wealth in the process.
  16. I embedded pennies, representing year of manufacture, in most of the furniture, boats, and musical instruments I've made. The owners don't even know.
  17. My squirrel-hunting buddy passed away a few years ago, and I haven't really done much squirrel hunting since, other than thinning the herd in my woods. I go out every opening day to one of our favorite spots as a memory sort of thing. I'll be out on 9/1. Even in the early season we would carry rimfires, and use pseudo-military tactics of hand signals and what-not to get 'em onto the trunks of trees where one of us could make a safe shot. It was more about the laughs afterwards than it was about the kill count. It's something I truly miss.
  18. The black p-shaped part is a clamp. Loosen the screw holding that clamp. It will probably take a bit of force to to move the sight because it will likely be wedged in there pretty good. Remember that moving that sight to the right will move the point of impact to the left, and vice versa.
  19. Trump is willing to say, on the national political stage, what many of us feel in our hearts. He's a refreshing change from the politics-as-usual crowd of candidates.
  20. The state of Maine stopped subsidizing people who consider failure a life-goal. The U.S. was founded by, and for, people who contribute to it's greatness, Uptown Redneck, and free-loading needs be discouraged. There are plenty of other countries around the world where you'd fit right in. Stop trying to my country into one of those.
  21. The only way to fool a deer's nose is to make sure you're downwind of the critter. If he's downwind, he knows what you had for breakfast before you even get out of your truck.
