On Denying Climate Change
philoshop replied to Curmudgeon's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Climate change is in fact happening and has happened continuously since long before humans entered the equation. Blaming it on humans is politics at it's worst rather than real science. The ultimate goal of AGW believers is to crush the U.S. economy so that the Nation can be brought heel amidst the Global rise of Socialism. The whole belief that "everyone must suffer equally" has always been a sickening concept to me. -
Trump - Clinton Debate
philoshop replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I hope it does. We're supposed to safeguard the Constitutional Republic that is the USA rather than the self-serving politicians who happen to have an (R) after their name. -
The polls can be considered 'accurate', until you look at their internal methodologies. Most of the media polls are conducted by hard core left-leaners who contact very small numbers of citizens and who heavily skew those numbers of citizens in favor of Clinton, and when confronted with results that don't fit their agenda they simply manipulate the numbers to get what they want. This sort of chicanery was uncovered just a few months ago in a Reuters poll when an intrepid media watcher managed to attain a copy of the poll containing the results before the manipulation occurred. To the best of my knowledge this sort of activity is not illegal, but it is dishonest and casts doubt on the moral integrity of the entire media polling system. Don't forget also that Trump supporters fully understand that any open support for the candidate could likely result in violent confrontation from the more radical elements of the Democrat party, and therefore don't respond at any to polling interviews. We're talking about millions of people who's only participation in this election will be at the ballot box. Call it the "silent majority" or the "monster vote".

Trump - Clinton Debate
philoshop replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I would like to add that pulling the lever for either of the other two candidates or simply sitting out the election is essentially casting a vote for Clinton. -
I couldn't disagree more with this line of thinking, partly because I have zero respect for the blatant manipulation of polls coming from the left-leaning elite media. Trump wouldn't have handily defeated 16 contenders in the primaries without massive support from the voting citizens who have an extreme dislike for the current Uniparty establishment, represented by people such as Kasich, Cruz, and Rubio. These three you've mentioned, as well as most other career politicians, would do whatever they felt necessary to ensure they hold on to their own personal political power. Doing what's needed to keep our Constitutional Republic would be a secondary concern when the fight to preserve that power gets tough. Trump doesn't think like that and neither do his many, many supporters who understand that you can't rely on a rigged system to reform itself.

Trump - Clinton Debate
philoshop replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I've never wanted so much to slap the smug smirk off of Cllnton's ugly mug. -
Trump is currently being forced to fight against at least three distinct groups: The elite media which is heavily populated with progressive socialists. The never-Trumpers who are primarily Republicans or Rinos who simply dislike the guy for whatever reason. And the Uniparty globalists who can easily be further segmented into distinct groups: The elite Wall Street banksters, the UN lovers, the anti-Amerca anarchists, and the open-borders supporters, just to name a few.

Trump is an openly politically-incorrect guy who immediately 'claimed ownership' of his statements rather than lying about the whole thing, Lying would be the first response from the vast majority of career politicians such as Hillary Clinton. The bottom line is this entire issue is much more about political-correctness than about what was actually said, and the fact that the Uniparty and it's supporters view anyone who is politically-incorrect as unfit to hold public office. A view which lies 180 degrees opposite my own.

Thanks for the heads up, Growalot..

Welcome aboard dalo143! And congratulations on having Wooly as your mentor!

The best solution is to live in an area that is not populated with criminals who have a belief that they're somehow entitled to other people's stuff. I realize that many can't do this, in which case I would recommend the best safe that you that you can get, even if means sacrificing on the household budget in some way.

I'm guessing the same. By the time gun season rolls around the does will be heavily into it because it's a different type of winter nutrition that they need, and the bucks always follow the does. I wouldn't be too quick to abandon that stand. It could be primo in December, if it's placed carefully on the route that the bucks will use before sundown. Just my .02 cents, Wooly.

VP debate highlight
philoshop replied to Salmon_Run's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I can't pin down anything specific. For me it's the overall tenor of the debate. Pence came across throughout the event as a very dignified and sincere candidate. Kaine came across as a very defensive pro-Hillary talker who generally sounded like an over-eager high-school kid who ate a couple too many Ritalin prior to taking the stage. -
I think they, and you, have the beliefs of the two candidates completely backward. That's a tactic right out of the Alinsky playbook by the way. Trump's only a demagogue in the minds of people who believe that Americans deserve less than what we're capable of, while Hillary fully believes that the U.S. would be better as a global entity without any sovereignty, suited to being ruled rather than governed. Who's actually the demagogue here? Trump's xenophobia only extends to those who wish to do us harm: radical islamic terrorists and illegal drug dealers and other foreign miscreants who would love to abuse the U.S. criminal justice system to advance their agendas. Hillary's xenophobia is directed at U.S. citizens who oppose her in any way shape or form. Trump's 'sexism' doesn't extend to his numerous companies. He has thousands of well-payed women in the upper echelons of his employ. He's intolerant of mediocrity, and it has nothing to do with what's between someone's legs. Hillary"s sexism extends to... well, all men. She's a radical feminist who believes she has some sort of 'right to the presidency' simply because of her gender. Tell me again, who is the real sexist here. Know-nothing and liar: Hillary has been in government for 46 years, and has never done anything of substantial significance to help the population of the U.S. And she's made a pile of money for herself in the process. She's not entirely a 'know-nothing', she knows precisely how to run an ongoing scam for her own benefit. But she cares little, and knows absolutely nothing about governing and maintaining a great nation. I could overpower this site's bandwidth with regard to the history of her lying to the American people. I'll admit, to an extent, that Bill wasn't a horrible president, but 20+ years ago we pretty strong economy and didn't have the number of openly leftist socialists trying to take over our government and our country that we see today. Bill didn't have to fight that internal enemy. Thinking citizens see the reality of this situation. That's why things like Common Core and easy government freebies were put in place. It's a relatively simple way to prevent the citizens from ever becoming 'thinking' citizens.

I gave up my 25 year old f-150 a few years ago. It was a dependable work truck that drank gas like a sailor on shore leave drinks beer. A leaking rear main seal was what convinced me to sell. I had a Jeep 4WD pickup back in the 70's that quickly turned into a complete rust-bucket, but they were well-known for that. I sold it in 1980 to a friend who stripped off all the sheet metal and is still using it as a tractor to pull firewood logs out of his woods. She was a tough old bird. I miss them both. My condolences to you.

The difference is that Romney and Ryan were/are RINOS (Republicans In Name Only), or at least Democrat sympathizers willing to sell their souls for Democrat approval. Neither Trump nor Pence are like that in any way. Sarah Palin was the only true liberty-loving Republican to stick her neck out in complete opposition to Obama's agenda, and she was quickly shut down or reigned in by both the McCain campaign leaders and the Republican elites in the 2008 election. Here's an excellent analysis of that situation:
-
Polling and prognostication is generally based on history. There is no history that is relevant to this election. For strong borders vs no borders, for energy independence vs being forever beholden to the ME, for strong vetting of migrants vs no scrutiny whatsoever, maintaining U.S. sovereignty vs ceding it, free-market healthcare vs socialist healthcare, free-market jobs vs government jobs... I'd like to go on but I think I might throw up given the reality of the situation.

I sincerely hope you can get it worked out eagle rider.

2 Women Attacked By Coyote(s) in Wayne County
philoshop replied to Cabin Fever's topic in General Chit Chat
In the mid 1970's no one believed there were coyotes in Wayne county, where I lived. The preferred name was 'coy-dogs'. Not sure how you can have 'coy-dogs' without the 'coy' part. I ran a 5 mile trapline every day before school, and was surrounded one morning, well before sunrise, by a pack of 'whatever' that wanted what was in my trap. I screamed and yelled obscenities, threw things at them, and eventually they moved off and left me alone. These were not friendly critters. -
The site seems to be working normally again today. Kudos to whoever figured out what was going on.
