I never had one in all my years of hunting, up until last year my new single pin adjustable came with one. With my same form, after comfortable at full draw, i glance down at the level and to my surprise i hold nearly dead nuts level without it. I was quite surprised lol but yes while practicing i always come to full draw, get comfy then glance at it. Kind of keeps me in routine like a quick mental checklist before releasing havoc on a critter

True, But they were 6 inches high of where i was aiming lol. The second grouping followed by the rest, after a "form check" sent them where they were supposed to go...

Use a roller and pack it in. YOu wont need the rain as moist as that soil looks.

Where are those plots?

Same here, tons of food everywhere. Apple's acorns lots of new native growths. I think what ruin my rutabaga planting is the fact that I "opened up the gate" to my soybeans and they were growing great with the beans. So as they started flicking the beans heavily they browsed my rutabaga tops as well. Think I'm going to give it a shot of urea beginning of next week before the next available rain. My ground in my plots is still pretty hard and dry.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

Checked on my murder plot again and set a cam up over it for the first time this summer. The clovers are getting grazed hard and the few soybeans that are left have pods somehow lol. Clovers are nice and thick for un broken ground on the new logging road through what used to be a mature Blue Spruce stand. Pic from thinner part of plot, soybean is maybe 6-8" tall max.. and has 4 pods on it lol My other plots the deer are completely wiping them out, brassicas and all. They have never done this before. I already cant wait for next summer to put a fence around everything! lol The WW i overseeded in every hammered plot is all beginning to sprout. Hopefully fills it in nicely and gets consumed.. -

Nice view!! Nice plot! -
Just plant a clover chicory blend, and get some Cereal rye, or Forage Oats or Winter Wheat of some sort to mix in as a nurse crop to clover.. Youll be fine, just have to do it in the next couple days is all.

Ive always peed from the tree, I dont believe its hurt my efforts any. I will be pissing in some mock scrapes this year with cameras set over. Piss is piss, predators pee, everything pees. It makes sense lol, i dont think my wife would be ok with me wanting to "bottle some up". maybe if deer piss is going to be illegal now, if i can bottle hers up and sell it to make some cash she would be alright with that? lol

It will help clovers out. But I think some warmer days would do a bit better for brassicas and grains Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
Need a deer deterrent!

Pie tins worked for a few weeks, then the doe families got brave and it didnt bother them, but not 1 single buck to be seen all summer. It did give the beans enough time to grow and put pods on.. Took the tins down a couple weeks ago and now every doe and buck on the hill it seems is annihilating them! I bought a 150$ electric fence for next year. I also thought of making what looks like a hot zone fence. Single strand of rope or wire on the outside about 18-24 high. then the interior fence about 2 ft away have one at 10" and another at 30-36" high. Ive heard just the deception of the 2 is enough to through off a whitetail.. -
I wouldnt go man, There aint much that scares me.. But hurricanes is one of those things!! lol My 81yr old Grandma would be at her home in Spring Hill now if it wasnt for her health. Hope her home holds up. Bst wishes to all involved one way or another.. Stay safe

Haven't had it happen to me but I was with my wife as she struggle getting her bow back on a doe last year opening night. About the 10th attempt she got it back somehow, and without the deer noticing either.. which was unbelievable lol sad to say she only cut a few hairs off the back.

I love how the deer and turk dont mind much for vehicles. Ive driven right up to them and had them walk right by them. They must relate them with farm equipment(on certain properties). Or when you walk back to the quad or truck after a morning sit and there is a stud and some does literally spitting distance away from your wheels that wreaks of fuel and what not.. lol

Purplish reddish color is a nutrient deficiency yes. As for saving your plots I would over seed on the extra heavy side with a winter wheat or forage oat. Some brassicas(if a forage brassicas) will regrow, just depends what species you planted. But this late in the year still wouldn't amount to much if they did regrow. As for oats and chicory/clover. The clover and chicory should help the oats with nitrogen needs. Not sure on ideal fertilizer to use. The only fertilizer I use is urea .. cause I'm cheap. I just rotate crops. But I definitely would not put urea on that oat chicory clover plot. If you over seed a good cereal grain in, once they start growing you can spread urea.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

They sure do. I usually try to do my saw work in mid to late winter when food may get scarce. They do love them buds though Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

Over seeded my rutabaga and soybeans(lack there of) with Winter Wheat last night, will finish today with the other 2 plots. in hopes we get the rain they are calling for saturday and sunday. The deer have basically wiped out my big bean plot pods and leaves completely. Also are hammering my Rutabaga. Cant wait to put the fence up next year on time lapse mode with the browning cam. -

Heres a natural Food plot.. From 1 of 3 clear cuts done back in April. Cant wait to see what happens next year. Nearly 600 pics in just over a week.. No big boys but the doe and fawns are loving it.. -

I agree! Hats off to you cory! I have spread a couple hundred pounds of small grains and soybeans by hand several times and i hate that! Couldnt imagine 3000lbs. I would have cut the bag up some and drug it behind the 4 wheeler lol. -
In Steuben 8P, We see bears every year. Have gotten 5 or 6 on cam this year so far. Had a sow with 3 cubs hanging out for a week or so about a month back.. They typically just travel through around us, and dont stay long.

Clovers are best planted with a nurse crop like wheat, rye or oats. Or can also be planted with brassicas. Nurse crop helps weed competition while clover gets established. I like to do clovers in the end of August early September with a cereal grain like wheat, oat or rye. Or a few weeks early with brassicas. The fall planting I think is best. The following April you will habe the first piece of green and it will be lush by May Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
Got a few to chose from!! Very nice
