  1. I have 2 Cuddeback white flash Capture cams that still work perfect. I love seeing the white flash pics. I dont think you can get these anymore but i do know cuddeback still has a white flash camera out. as well as a couple other companies..
  2. Got tons of coyote pics this week. daytime and night. packs and singles.. Think i need to hunt em now
  3. Scores typical or Non-Typical.. Anything is possible given the right circumstances. Nothing was mentioned about a being typical or non typical. If it were a typical it would be a 1 in a billion(or less) chance. I just meant in general. If deer were managed and let to grow, and basically get old like the rest of us. It is possible no doubt. not very common but possible. We have the right places in this state to do so obviously, but not just in "ANY" area. Im not into scores either, but deer are taken in heavily hunted areas as well as managed areas that top the 200" mark. Every so often. Pictures prove it. At my Camp that is highly unlikely, though i did see a giant non typical years ago, i dont think he was 200" I wouldnt even know where to begin scoring a Non Typ.... Get into WNYBH land of giants then yes lol Or anywhere with AG and Good soils.. I dont believe a buck should be measured by symmetry.. They should be scored based on everything they grow.. Deductions are waste of space IMO. But a 209" deer is more than likely going to lose many inches in its score based of these "deductions" no doubt. But it still grew 209" of bone...
  4. There sure is 200" deer in NY, You just dont here of it as much because its not commercialized like Iowa, Kansas and Ohio are.. along with others. You put a good, big piece of ground together with great soil, and some genetic potential then manage it you will at some point grow a deer of that caliber no doubt. A man killed one here a few years ago in Palmyra that grossed 209" i believe. He hunts down the road from a couple places I have hunting access to, as well as an uncle that owns near this property. Pic attached. This buck is not on the best of managed ground either.. I know quite a few people in this area that hunt the same block of woods/surrounding properties basically.. Cropped out his face.. Also a man I know took a 188" gross buck down the road from my piece in Macedon about 14 years ago or so.. Which had a twin it grouped with during summer the same size.
  5. A half ton pulling 8-10,000lbs daily? If it were me, Id get a 6spd man, Ive got the 5.7 in my 2500 and it has some nuts no doubt but, I still don't think either 6.4 or 5.7 would touch that 5.9. not for that kind if Tow weight. My buddy has the 6.4 in his 2500 but he didn't step down from the diesel, stepped up from the 5.9 360 V8. Beutiful Truck by the way BigVal, when mine decides to crap out completely, Im going back to the 2nd or 1st Gen Cummins hopefully
  6. My bushnells 2 of them did this the last 2 card pulls as well. I formatted the card and have it setup at work hoping to get pics of myself before i set it back to the woods.
  7. Was going to say mid 160s until i read the score lol. Hes got the tine length, incredible beam length and good width. All adds up fast
  8. If you moved your stand up the tree to where the branches go on both sides of you, you would probably be ok. If you like to stand in the stand i think your better off in setups like this, its what I do anyways, blend into tree better. Or as you mentioned 3 split tree would be ok as well.
  9. IT sure is, the same property! Lol. I been meaning to check in, and possibly meet him this year, Landowner said he gave him permission to hunt the field or something of the sort. I went to trim shooting lanes for my stands and one was all trimmed out already. Lol. I'm guessing it was him then. I wanna get some plots into that field next year and get on the same page with him hopefully. And make it a kick ass piece of property to hunt.
  10. What a toad! That drop is crazy! Ive seen some dandies on Stryker. The piece I hunt goes from Hemlock(where the sharp 90 turn is) over to Stryker, and North near Fritz Hill. Does he live in one of those 3/4 houses? Sounds like we hunt close or the same property.
  11. Just noticed you said "8", lol I dont travel that road very often. A friend of mine owns on 8. And i bet your close to him by the looks of those surroundings, and your number. I used to Turkey hunt at the top of 8. I now hunt on Stryker, but also own/hunt about 2 miles straight south on Hemlock closer to 390. Dont think we are too far apart lol
  12. I got rid of Directv and use the Amazon Fire stick now. Ill tel you what, i miss not watching hunting! lol Im not a big Drury fan much anymore but I enjoyed watching Phase 13. Also Midwest Whitetail, Antler Ice Bone Cold(Local guys) I am sure I'm missing some but the ones that are informative on what they do and why and where etc.. and show all their management steps taken to reach where they are today.. Those are my favs Not the whack and stack gun hunting shows. Adrenaline Junkies with the Public Land hunts is good too!
  13. I've always considered Hunting the mid day sits during the heat of the rut. But never really have. After running cams pretty hard last year. in my good spots that are between bedding areas and bedding to food, i had some very good mid day movement on some "Chooters" .. I am convinced this year to sleep in and hunt from 930am-on. And even in the crappiest of weather last year, i got pics or actually seen the bigger bucks out cruising, when most think they arent moving. I believe the big bucks will, in the rainy cooler days.. I only have 2 or 3 setups that I believe would make good mid day sits. I thnk its totally worth the mid day sit, given you pick the right location to sit..
  14. Good luck on those beauties! My cams showed some good movement this pass week, on every cam. The big boys are really moving.
  15. Hard to tell with those pics, but id say 3.5.. Looks to developed to only be 2.5..
  16. May not have them this year of they haven't dropped by now. They've been dropping for a month or more here. Have a good crop this year
  17. Looks like him! Beautiful buck... How do you like the Reconyx?? Wish i could afford an arsenal of them!
  18. Congrats man, Ive followed you a bit around here, and you've been quiet since the post.. Thought you may have smoked him lol! that is awesome. Wall Bound for sure!
  19. Chaos, you'll love those heads. They are built well. When my 5 "Real" Rage hypos need replacing, I will replace with these "Chinadermics" as WNY calls them lol. Have shot rage for a decade now, nothing but good stuff to say about them.
  20. 140+ My buddy shot a 140 gross 10 pt opening night.. Your cam buck seems slightly bigger. Taller tines as well as an extra tine
  21. They do not look familiar, the only gate I can picture at the moment that kind of looks like that is surrounded by poplar trees. But I havent done any driving around in a few years now. Life has kept me quite busy lol.
  22. My buddy posted this on a fb forum today. He is a Deer Search Tracker for the southerntier.
