  1. Anybody here film there hunts, whether its self filmed or buddy filmed? I used to do it years back and enjoyed doing so. This fall im going to get back into it but I need an HD handheld cam, and possibly a remote stationary cam. Id like to start making almost like a journal of each hunting season with the use of HD video and still pictures. I dont want to invest a ton of money for the first cam but was thinking something like the SONY HDRCX405/404 or the Cannon R700/800. Trying to stay around the 2-300$ price range tops . Using it to video tape and capture nice still images while afield. I think it will be either one of these cams to start with, could one tell me which would be the better route? I think they are fairly similar. The SONY has MP4 for easy sharing which i like and it sells with many accessory packages too.. Just trying to keep it simple yet fun, and somewhat cheap for now. I'm not into electronics so I don't know too much about them lol, Thanks!
  2. Mine are used for wildlife observation obv.. but deer and Spring turkey mainly. I run them to see what bucks mad it through winter, and i absolutey love watching deer grow mostly bucks lol. I have A LOT of history with many different bucks through the years. Trail cameras are a hobby of mine, i enjoy them as much, or more than actual hunting sometimes lol. I have used them to monitor my seasonal dead end road for poachers before, with success. But I do not like using them for security purposes unless I have them concealed well. I have one spot i hang a camera for early season and late season, that watches a trail the deer use to cross the road to get from bedding to my big food plot. The cam is up on a bank pointed down as they cross the ditch, and will also pick up vehicle traffic as well. Double whammy
  3. I have 2 cards per cam, I keep all cards in cases at all times. Ive lost too many cards that had pics I hadn't seen yet, from putting them places without a case. I typically put all my empty cards in one pocket of my pants or jacket and put the cards with pics on them into another pocket. But in the mean time while they are patiently waiting to be swapped out of the cameras, they sit in my center console of my truck. just picked up 2 more Brownings from Phade yesterday .. gonna need more cards now.. dang it lol

  20. Yea man, not sure when you can plant it but I'm sure there's time to plant many things yet for screening Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. What maturity group soybean did you plant? I planted 4s and 5s at the end of May. They should be timed perfectly with fall frost.. I also just planted group 1 and group 0 this week to overseed brassicas into the summer Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. Congrats, hope the property becomes yours sooner than later. I just planted my 2 seperate screens this week. But the hybrid sorghum I planted has been planted into early July and still grew near 10ft tall. It's my first time with screens so I'm excited to try it, I bought from Northwoods whitetails.com. Check out pheasantsforever.com for screening blends. My buddy bought some there and his said it matures in 45-60 days, so he's waiting a bit to plant it. Pretty cheap too. And you get like 5 acres worth of seed. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  23. Wish i had a 5 acre field to play with, the things I would do with (1) 5 acre field lol. I like mixing those clovers and chicory right in with your Winter Wheat planting, or into your PTT. Great to use as a cover crop to clovers.. Left over seed, i hope you get good germination from it, Ive heard keeping it frozen in a sealed bag is best for good germination the following year. Post some pics before during and after, those are always neat! Some sort of walls or fruit or hard mast trees would look nice out in that field too! lol
  24. Do you like these cams? I still have a Dicks gift card and they have these on there website for sale?
  25. Nothing wrong with giving them a buffet to chose from. Especially until you find out what they prefer.. damn deer can be picky some times. But your soil can make plants taste less attractive too.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
