  1. Try Biekircks in PA? I'll be taking a drive down there in a few weeks hopefully Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  2. Your letting me down WNY .. where are these hunts of bone at? Still holding.. ? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  3. Im ordering mine this week, hope to have it spread next week. I gained permission on a friends property as well. He and his family want to start improving habitat, holding wildlife on their property and seeing better quality animals. HE asked for my assistance in getting there. Hope they get serious with it, and it becomes a hobby like it is for me. They dont have equipment yet to break ground so we are going to start with frost seeding some clovers into a hay field. Or ill get my quad and boom-sprayer to him to kill off the veg. and he can spread and roll the clover seed in.. Up to him more than me lol. Then throughout summer into fall i can hopefully bring over some equipment to help out more after my child is born lol. In the mean time we will get busy with the saw..
  4. ITs awesome watching lightning. It was ligting up the dark sky this morning beautifully at 4am on my ride to work. Lots of lightning and ver little rain on the ride in. I love how mother Nature impresses me so easily lol.
  5. First Light, Im not sure exactly where you are located, but i know your not too far from me. The coyotes are thick in our parts. A couple of my buddies have been around killing coyotes all winter, having luck every night or 2 and ive been seeing guys run the dogs too. Some guys ran them on my neighbors last year and never asked anyone else besides us for permission, they just went in after them. I wouldnt really care as long as they just carried on with their business and didnt tinker around. But It is nice to be in contact with them. After they ran our hill they told us where they found dens and such which helped with our success calling them in... I found a guy trespassing on my neighbors a couple weeks ago, driving a white Toyota Tundra with dog cages in the back. I know he didn't have permission. As Soon as he saw me he pegged it and got out of Dodge.. Im not one to be a rat, but i keep an eye on our properties since most owners are not locals. Not everyone's property is open to the public..
  6. He'll be on the bottom of the hit list probably yes. He just dropped his half. Latest pics show his right pedicle all bloody Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  13. Each deer is a little different among each other, and their habits do change slightly from area to area, but they do have to survive us humans and mother nature... Creating a sanctuary is one of the very best things you can do to a property. Along with creating food and water(especially within the sanctuary). But a sanctuary is not truly a sanctuary if human activity is present.. Compare it to our living rooms, or man caves or bedrooms within our homes, or our homes in general.. its not any different for a whitetail.. Everyone hunts for different reasons, and with that being said you could just stay out of there as much as possible to better your luck, but it wont truly be a sanctuary. Just a lower pressured area. But the chances and choices are yours to make. From this maps view it looks like a decent spot, especially if they already bed there. then go through with it. If you do put a blind in their, id do it once green up starts.. let them get used to it longer and in a time when there just curious and not cautious. I have 2 sanctuaries on the property i hunt, and they are probably only a few acres a piece. I do not hunt any wheres near them, except down a trail 100+ yrds that leads to food.. and wait them out. Id rather hold the deer on my property than the neighbors. We are all in competition for mature bucks so leaving our woods untouched or little as possible our best.
  14. Grow, I know you do a ton of saw work and hard labor on your property.. but have you tried building bedding areas for bucks? I agree with wooly probably holding more does and fawns. But even with all your food id think you'd find atleast a few. There must be an ag field near by that they are predominantly going to for food. My plots are only being hit lightly now. The bucks hit them super hard throughout December and January.. they must have built back up their stomach, strength or what not and are eating a little of everything now.. Seem to be spending more time in a disked in corn and soybean fields than my turnip and radish plots. Lots of turkey sign around this year Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  15. How big of an area did you plant of the sunn hemp and iron clays, grow?
  16. Most of mine are still holding in 8P according to cams. I haven't even started searching yet. Neighbor picked up a match set to a 4pt this weekend in a WW plot.
  17. I don't think it would hurt anything. It needs to freeze and thaw more before "frost seeding" works at all. I like to wait til early March. But I bet if the birds don't find it you'll be fine Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  18. I've been talking with my marine buddy who's coming home from overseas as we speak. He's pushing me more into vortex for being American made and great quality if the mid or higher grade scope is purchased. I did not serve. And could only imagine the quality difference you speak of. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  19. Oh I know, low quality glass... Had it all my years of hunting lol. The scopes with "good numbers" and an even better price. Just like everything else practice and experience. I won't go cheap on a scope but I can't break the bank on this one at the moment. I've swapped all "low quality" scopes off of my guns except for one that needs replacing still. 20. Totally agree with close up shots and low power. I'm looking for long range equipment. 200+ ideally I want to be a better shot out to 300 and 400 yards Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. One of mine is a refurbished strike force from ebay as well. Flawless cam for 76$. Have 3 strike force cams and just ordered spec ops platinum this week Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. That's good to hear airedale. Thank you for the ideas and advice. You are right, this is only a big game hunting rifle and not a designated long range rifle. I wasn't worried so much about the 1/2" MOA just more of the friction adjustments, since they are not "clicks". Idk a hole lot about reloading and such. I just purchased some novels to read on reloading and making the most efficient rounds as far as speeds and trajectories go and etcc.. along with some dies to reload other calibers too. I'm certainly looking forward to this. Most hunting centerfire riflle are dead on out to 200 and maybe only a few inches low at 300 and that would be my absolute max on a "good" hunting day weather wise. I will use this 270 to hunt with I'm sure but if it stayed a target rifle I would be fine with that as well. I have enough other calibers to hunt with. I do have a mossberg 243 that came with a factory scope that I'd like to change so at worst it would go on that. I let my 11 yr old son shoot this gun as well as it being my go to coyote gun with a 58gr hornady. The leupold would be nice on that for after dark hunting. Now I have to make up my mind again. 23. But I can't break the bank, having 2 kids and a 3rd due soon.. gotta be conservative lol Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  24. All of my scopes are nikon buckhunters or prostaff and I love them. I'm not set on one or the other really. Nikon or leupold I'd like to stick to. And I do plan on hand loading this (.270) Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
