I am not trying to derail this thread. But, I have a question. Are you hunting them over water or fields? I only ask because there a ton of geese in this area, and I have never actually hunted them.

From a tree stand or on the ground, I think the backdrop behind you comes into play. I would suggest a ground blind brushed in, in area 1.

You are concentrating on one specific area of the state. I posted this a while back, it covers the entire state for public land access: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/82098.html I don't think water shed lands are listed, as they aren't regulated the same as basic state land or WMA's.

After hitting Wallyworld to get my tags, batteries for the cam, a couple SD cards, and even bought some scent killer while I was there, I stopped at a public land WMA near me. Noticed a few new rubs starting to show up here and there. That was a good sign. I apologize if my continuing to make posts on this thread isn't cool. I just don't see a reason to post a new topic every time I scout or do something for prep when this thread is here. Grampy started a good thread here, so giving it a "bump" here and there should be a good thing.

Ran a few tests today after getting some batteries and a couple SD cards. Pics aren't bad IMO. I need to adjust the delay a bit more. So far I am not unhappy with the purchase. I will say this, it was very odd to see pics of me taking my dog out with a date and time stamp. LOL
