  1. Since doing some serious reading on coyotes, will admit I have a begrudged respect for them. Actually miss hearing them at night. Still don't like them much and feel they are a nuisance and threat to deer, turkey, and other animals if numbers are not kept in check. But, there lies the issue. Not many people trap or hunt coyotes, so the numbers in over populated areas will continues to grow. The only thing that kept me going out solo last season was I have no one to call and say "Come get it for the hide.". Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk
  2. Why do you get so worked up when people don't respond to your threads as fast as you think they should? Not trying to tick you off, just curious. Many threads posted on this forum that you can't bothered to reply too. So if people do not reply to you ASAP, maybe they have more important issues going on. Like me, take a look at the news about what's going on my area. As for picking up throw away trash or garbage on the side of the road, out my way people don't toss anything of use. Most find a way to use it or post their garbage on CraigsList. Sometimes they host flea markets or yard/garage sales to get rid of crap.
  3. For more info: https://parks.ny.gov/parks/146/hunting.aspx You need a day pass to scout. A day pass to the park is $6. So I can't get over there a ton. Sorry. I will try and get in there as much as possible. Perhaps others who seemed interested can help out in the scouting? As I said, the sites for tents are small. I have a 9x9 tent and I have enough room for one other person in that tent, and willing to share the site cost. If people are actually interested, we might have to meet up over there and have a look around. This was just a though. There's a lot of details to a tent hunt.
  4. Really? Seriously? I tried to agree with a few points you made, but, the above excerpt from your post made be take a few steps back. So God has put you in right place of someone else hitting a deer and wrecking their vehicle, possibly having serious injury to driver and passengers ( possibly even killing them ), just so you could kill a deer with "pocketknife"? Perhaps you should rethink this part of your post. You come off as more concerned and "dispatching a deer" ( and putting a feather in your hat ) then being worried about the well fare of the people who hit the deer. Seems a little self righteous in my opinion. Are there many people killed hitting a white tail, nope. But, there sure are a lot who have totaled their vehicle hitting one. Some people have very high deductibles and premiums! So that deer you "dispatched" and got to put in your freezer was only free to you! It may have cost the driver hundreds or even thousands. Did you get the name and numbers of these people who hit the deer to ask if they wanted some of the meat? I doubt it. Jesus would have done that! Jesus would have offered to process the meat for them and give it to them. ALL OF IT IF THEY WANTED IT!

  10. Yes you need a permit, but it's free. Archery and shotgun only. No rifles or handguns. As for scouting, haven't done any yet. Once the bass season opens will get some done. You have to pay the day pass fees Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk

  12. Congrats on an awesome bird!
  13. Pulled 4 off our dog in the past week. 3 around her eyes and one by her ear. We check her daily ( and ourselves ), she gets her vacs like clockwork, and use Seresto for collar. The damn ticks seem to be getting used to the chemicals used to keep them off us and our pets.
