  1. Will give it a shot. I use just a splash in most of my wing sauces, and I like fries with gravy and a touch of vinegar ( damn, add to my list of future dinners, been a few years ).
  2. Yeah I know................. This is actually a serious question. I read a a lot on here about how many hunters are subject to hunting pretty small parcels of public land with roads and hiking trails all over the place. I hunt one area like that, small and roads on all sides. Say you shoot a deer and either it runs a bit or it's a bad shot and runs for a long ways. What's the legal standing if the deer you shot runs into a road and causes an accident, or in the highly populated hiking areas it crashed into a hiker and hurts them. So my question........... Are we as hunters liable for damages?
  3. HA! This is on the menu for Tuesday or Wednesday night! I have a ton of leftover ham from last night! Cider vinegar? Hmmm... I haven't made bean soup in a long time. Never used any kind if vinegar in it before. I may try it in the bowl, but for some reason I feel you are messing around TF. LOL.
  4. Oh boy! Why bring this of all other things back to life? LOL. Are our soldiers abroad using silencers? Yes, military grade rifles most often have a flash suppressor, but rarely a silencer. How do you silence a bomb? Many a troop that comes home suffers from PTSD, but their hearing is good.
  5. I might have to check out the web site, looking for another blind or two for next season. Our local store doesn't carry stands, and they only had one style of blind last October. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. WARNING! DO NOT DRINK THIS STUFF! Rockdale Light ( I guess it's Wally Worlds brand ). Barely foams and tastes like a watered down Coors Light.
  7. Left a good amount of meat on the bone, going to freeze it for a split pea soup down the road. Sliced up some for sammy meat, and filled a platter for dinner. Went with roasted garlic-thyme-rosemary taters, and the garlic-parm peas.
  8. Put a 12 pound honey smoked ham in the oven about 3, not sure what kind of potato yet, and I'm thinking Parmesan-garlic peas or ranch broccoli. Will get a pic up when it's done.
  9. Happy Birthday Cabin Fever.
  10. Home made sweet and sour pork with sweet peppers, sugar snap peas, sautéed onion, and rice noodles.
  11. Tughill Plateau and the Northern ADK's are in for the the worst. All the weather channels were talking feet, not inches for those areas. Hope everyone takes it slow while driving and stays safe.
  12. Looking in the fridge, had a few leftovers from NYE. Decided to give a second try of Best Damn Root Beer that was left behind. After one sip, I still don't like it. Opted to rinse my taste buds out with one of the home brewed German October Fest my buddy made. No pics, sorry. My phone would have crapped out of I tool a pic of that adult root beer.
  13. Congrats to Ranger Clay and his daughter on a great hunt! A huge tip of the hat to Cabin Fever as well!
  14. After 40 you are allowed full freedom to be cranky. Happy Birthday.
  15. Larry? You hitting the brown cocktails again? Just kidding big guy. Look, if it's good enough for terrorists, why not LEO's? Saves tax dollars if they don't have to use bullets.
  16. Those roll caps were fun, but rarely did every one of them spark. Then they came out with the cylinder and single caps for the ( at that time ) new age cap guns. Now those you could get inventive with.
  17. Gave this a try just now. Adirondack Bear Naked Amber Ale. I will be trying this to soak some brats in this Spring or Summer. Pretty hearty and flavorful with no fruity, chocolate, or coffee tones.
  18. If the scope works for you are ahead of the game. I have no issues with Bushnell scopes, the scope I bought for my Howa 7mm-08 is a Bushnell Throphy XLT and it's great. Just a tip though, take a look and make sure the bolt isn't hitting the scope on your Axis. I have to at minimum switch out the rings on my Axis XP Stainless because the bolt hits the scope. It will surely be a yote killer, and never say never about using it as a deer rifle. You may decide to venture out of your WMU and drop a deer with it.
  19. To me, still hunting and stalking are two different types of hunting. You need to know your $$$$ for both as it's a stealth game. To me a stalk is driving and glassing, or walking and glassing fields for game, then trying to sneak up on what you spotted, hence "stalking". Maybe getting of fresh tracks and "stalking" the tracks. Still hunting, while similar, isn't the same as stalking to me. Still hunting you move slowly through the woods, looking to catch a flicker of an ear or tail. You walk slowly through areas where you don't always know if deer are in there or not. You scan the area for both deer and the next place to stop at, then slowly move to that next spot to stop. Then you just repeat that from one cover point to the next. The big common factor to both is this, stealth! There's a reason many hunters call stalking and still hunting an art, you have to have your head on a swivel in every direction! You need to be looking down to make sure of your next step, you need to be looking around for your game, and you need to always be aware of were you are and what's beyond your target. Sitting in a stand no matter what it is ( blind or tree stand ) over food plots is great, but getting up and going after your deer can be a lot more fun, and walking helps keep you warm and in shape for dragging the deer out.
  20. The Axis is a great rifle for the money! The only fly on it is if you buy the package deal, get new glass on it ASAP. That Bushnell that comes with it is not up to standards. Kudos on going bolt action wooly! That's hunting! Seeing you are not overly concerned about selling the pelt, the .308 will be a "bang-dead-on-the-spot" for a coyote. Most factory ammo will get the job you want done effectively. So shoot what you want and shoots well for you. Congrats on adding a new rifle to your safe!
  21. I hope 2017 brings you all great hunting, and more great memories!
  22. Moog, power lifter, big buck killing machine, drives a sissy truck? I don't believe that for a minute! I use a tarp for the back of my Jeep, but if any blood leaked out I would call it a trophy stain. Hell, about the only time it gets washed is during a rain storm.
  23. Thanks for the congrats GreeneHunter. She took up deer hunting this year.
  24. Happy Birthday Turkeyfeathers. Hope you have a great day with family and friends, great food and a good ice cold beer. Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk
