Aren't you supposed to light a good cigar with a wooden match? I am about to head outside with a budget beer and hope a bit of self medicating helps the back. No pics, To embarrassed. LOL
-
No need for those. No little Robs running around though. The world doesn't need two of me. LOL

Remember when pro ball players did endorsements to help kids set positive goals, push yourself, don't do drugs, stay in school. etc? WTF happened?

There's almost always hunting land. Sorry to say, many will not allow hunters on their land anymore, and part of that is leasing. I agree with that, I also say it's so and so's land, they can do what they want. NYS has a lot of public land, so a hunter will always find a place. Will they be 100% happy sharing the woods with some of bad hunters out there? Nope. It is what it is.

Rob & His Woman sitting under a tree Looking for deer as content as can be First comes hunting Then comes marriage He's to old for a baby in a carriage

Yep. That's what I just said too.

I kind of agree. Those who have the cash to lease make it hard for those of us who don't. I wonder how many people said they already have people hunting the land were getting a few dollars. But, who are we to tell anyone what to with their land?

Thank you. Reviews were good on it. It was this or the Infinite Edge. It feels good and pretty well balanced. I have to get a new quiver as my old one is just to big for the smaller bow. I am going to give the Hostage rest and Apex sight a go and see how they perform. Right now, I am happy with the purchase. Thank you. Doe priority, then a buck. I forget to breathe watching TV, LOL.

Just remember. Its a herd of deer. Some state land is too insane for me to even bother with opening day gun. Most of those are close to cities ( 20 minutes or so ) and get a lot more pressure. Yet some of it, if you leave the confines of rurality behind you could sit all day, know there were other hunters in the woods, and not hear a shot or see them. State land that gets hit hard does suffer a little from too many hunters IMO.

Up here? Not sure. Down south....They shoot each other over the stuff if that says anything.

Never figured I would buy myself a diamond, but............. Diamond Prism Right now the DL is at 26" and feels short ( Just for Bowguy 1, I put an arrow in this time when I drew it back ), I really think 27" will be spot on. DW is 40#'s going up to 55#'s. No d-loop either so that has to be done. Feels good in my hands. If we didn't have a water main break so the land owner is here working, I would have a pic or two for the "1st Shot" thread.

Sounds like the beginning of a horror movie. Investigators went to check it out and were't seen or heard from again. That was 5 years ago. Now, their footage was found. In theaters this Fall.

Ya gotta love when those "re-enactments" go wrong. Makes me think of that part in Young Guns 2 when they do the peyote and the guy ran out of the cave shooting the dblbrl screaming "You guys, you guys! Did you see the size of that chicken?!" .
-
That made me bust out laughing!

They were saying on the news that Tim Brown and Spike Lee were behind what he did. Funny, couple guys who made millions in the USA and now don't like how they are treated? It's a load of 'dung' to me. Bunch of nut cases looking for attention.

Screw-in Steps
DirtTime replied to Rebel Darling's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I have used the screw in and strap on steps. Never cared for either. Used them doe to lack of being able to buy sticks. Also remember, you can't use screw in steps on state land. Pretty sure the APB doesn't allow them either. I would get climbing sticks. If ( that's a HUGE IF ! ), I ever buy a tree stand again, it will be a two person ladder stand.- 25 replies

I would hit Maine or maybe Vermont. Never south. I hate the heat here, could never deal with the heat down south. I see why you are considering it though. Strong family ties are tough to let go.

Me too.

Just talked to the g/f. She said she never threw out the box the bow came in. I just looked in the shed and both closets and can't find it. If I find it the bow will be shipped tomorrow. If not, I would say Thursday at the latest as I just checked the tracking for my new bow and FDX says it's in route for delivery this afternoon or tomorrow morning. All this fancy tracking stuff and still never know for sure when things will arrive.

I see that point. I simply meant that for all practical purposes, shoot the deer you want to shoot, but we shouldn't bag on others for having a different point of view. As long as it's legal hunt your way. I also agree that NYS could do more on the public land aspect to help improve hunting.

Site Suggestions & Comments
DirtTime replied to HuntingNY's topic in Hunting New York Annoucements and News
Noticing some pics aren't showing up in some peoples posts. NM. Adjusted some browser setting and fixed it. Sorry. -
Never thought I would see a day when my plan for the season was get a doe for the freezer, then go after a nice buck ( to me, that's a good 6 or up ) for a few weeks, then back to just getting more meat in the freezer. This is also the first time I have ever had 4 tags though. But, I love to hunt, and I do it for the meat. A nice buck would just be icing for me. I would rather someone hunt for the horns then shoot a small deer that still has traces of it's spots.
