Stoned again. Leave that "hemp" alone and stop blaming the kindle for your typos. LOL.

The one here was over quick. Lake George had an issue with a lightning strike in a park yesterday, and Caroga Lake got slammed last night. News said a lot of people in the Saratoga and some surrounding areas were without power for a long time. I didn't really follow up on the news. But I guess some areas really got hammered. Edit: Just found this and a few other reports about Caroga Lake. http://www.twcnews.com/nys/capital-region/news/2016/08/13/large-incident-at-pine-lake-campground--in-caroga-lake.html

Looking for land access in CT - $
DirtTime replied to BizCT's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
Why go to CT? Your dad just bought some land that's looking like it will be great hunting. Buy that bow from chiefbkt or a new bow and get on the land you bought. Just sayin'. -
I was looking at charcoal. Unsure about propane, and I don't really want electric.
-
I was informed last week by the g/f I can no longer make my jerky in the oven as we use propane now and she doesn't want the oven burning for 7-10 hours. Can't argue with her on that, I agree. Looking at a decent but reasonable one. I could go dehydrator, but, would rather get a small smoker. At least that way I can do ribs, chicken, fish............ How well do they work in the colder winter months? It would be outdoors so just curious.

A little off topic but just looking over my tags I forgot to get my turkey tags. LOL. I have until May for that. The cost for our tags isn't that bad for everything. How much meat can you buy for around $100 these days? I spent $40 to be able to take 4 deer, rabbits, squirrel, etc. I will have to add $10 to that for my turkey tags making it $57. If I was able to take just one good size doe, it will have paid for itself.

I guess I won't drink apple juice and then pee in the woods then.
-
Good lord! Can someone answer my apple juice question?

Lobster claw is on my hit list
DirtTime replied to HUNTINGS IN MY DNA's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
In this day of trail cams, cell cams, and every "app" in the world to help with wind and so on, why bait? Not trying to be a jerk, but seriously, why? If I had 1000 acres of my own land, I might put out a few cams, plant some apple trees or w/e, but never bait. At some point it's not hunting anymore. JMO. -
I would welcome wolves before cats.

I keep looking at the pics and the target. As far as paper tuning, the holes are damn near perfect. I just need practice time and get used to the new anchor point. That might be screwing me up too.
-
That was actually pretty cool. Too bad it did nothing for the dew point and humidity.
-
Just went out for a ciggy and was watching a storm move up from Ravena north. Thunder is pretty nasty but not hearing rain in the trees yet. They said we might get a small part of that storm slammin' LA, western NY, and the high AKD's. Lights just started flickering. My dog hates storms, she's in here with me in my office and not moving anytime soon.

The best advice I can offer is this, if the tree is away from the wood line, make sure you can get a good way in and out without jumping deer in the field. Might be best as an evening stand. That way before you venture out in the open you can scan the field to make sure it's clear. Yes, sometimes spooked deer come back, but, many times they won't.

And every law abiding citizen in it! Some don't see it, but, she will sell this country out in a heartbeat. The sad part is she will do it below list price.

Nothing special, Bud Light ( ehem, American beer ). Wish I was sitting outside right now drinking this but, it's too damn hot. Sit out there for 10 minutes and the dew in the air makes your clothes stick to you.

Beautiful dog Paula.

I guess 20+ years will do that? LOL Edit: Rather be a T-Rex then a knuckle dragger. LOL

OK. First shots of the year ( page 4 ): http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/33946-almost-might-still-get-got-in-trouble/?page=4#comment-488927 Second round wasn't horrible, great groups, but have to fix the foot high issue.

That's because you are Mexican by beer intake.
-
Too hot for the grill. Roast beef, swiss, tomato, onion, and spicy ranch dressing. Side of Herr's Hot Sauce Chips and home made jalapeño pickles.
-
Never used scents, so hoping to learn something reading this. I was serious though, I wounder if apple juice around the stand is baiting or an attractant.

Good deer right there. Will taste good and look great mounted on a wall!
