  1. The excuse this was aimed at the bowhunters. They seem to be the only ones worried about other weapons invading their precious season. I was not making any point against this weapon. I would like to see a side by side comparison with this arrow shooting gun compared to a crossbow, a compound, and traditional bows though.
  2. Well, as for who is in fear of loosing seasons?.....Hmmm....... No comment...... My worry is if the air somehow gets low ( o-rings get weak etc ), and a hunter using this doesn't look at the gauge, it will result in a bad shot. Other then that, all I can really say is, it's just not for me. I like the noise an actual firearm makes. It helps me locate other hunters on state land and lets me know how close they are.
  3. http://govtslaves.info/everything-is-a-scam-health-politics-finance-but-heres-how-to-beat-the-system/ I agree with most of this article. The big thing I liked was there is no reference to being totalitarian. No being a Republican, no being a Democrat, no left wings or right wings, just stand up as an American. A united front!
  4. Welcome to the forum. We have good eggs, bad eggs, and eggs like me who just have a black yoke. Toss some bacon in and things are easier to swallow. Look forward to reading about your worldly hunts. What does your signature mean? DEATHBY416?
  5. This will be one of the season where we just say WTF! That's for sure. They killed off Jessie so Rick could 'hook-up-with' Michonne? I mean, we all pretty much knew Rick and Michonne would get together even for a one niter at some point, but this wasn't the best way to write that in. As for the new guy..........That never works out and telegraph that more then a fighter who drops his left just before trying to make the knock-out blow from the right. But.....His presence will keep me watching to see where it goes.
  6. Homemade turkey pot pie. I cheated and used store bought turkey gravy as I had no flour or corn starch to thicken a broth.
  7. This was from a woman. This was from a man. I really just felt both comments were oxymoron's. As a gun owner, if someone breaks into my home and they are armed I will defend my family and property. With the same gun I use to hunt with. Why learn to shoot of you do not have intention to own a gun? I get that people have weird thoughts and issues with guns, but, this particular conversation was dizzyingly hard to get a grip on. As for saving someone I know was anti-gun or hunting? I would do that without a second thought.
  8. I have been mulling over a conversation I had this afternoon. I really don't know how to convey it, it was the most surreal conversation on gun control I have ever had. One one hand, a person stated they had no issues with people owing "firearms" to hunt. But, they were against owning a "firearm" for self defense. Another person said they wanted to learn how to shoot, but had no interest in owning a "gun". WTF! It got political for a while, I was getting PO'ed, lost my cool, and stated, "Look at the world we live in, if you watch the news you can't even trust co-workers who have glowing backgrounds. Look at that **** that went down in CA, and all the nut-bags killing just to kill! You think your politicians care about you? They don't! All they care about is lining their pockets, adding to their bank accounts and allowing stupid ******* morons to attack our country! I don't give a rats *** if you are a Democrat, Republican, Liberal, or rooting for the independent, you are are *** ***** American and what's best for this country should be a priority! Gun control won't keep weapons out of the enemies hands!" After about a two minute pause with everyone looking at me all slack jawed, the subject was changed. I felt embarrassed for the outburst, and proud at the same time. Then they said, "When are we doing this again?". I said, it was the most surreal account of gun control I have ever had.
  9. I just took it. Again let us know where this goes and the results.
  10. I just read over the questions. Would be nice to have a place to explain why I made my selection. Where does this go?
  11. A claim to fame for social media is an educated risk people! The want the like's on FB and Twitter so they evaluate like a 2nd grader eating paste.
  12. Had someone post this on my Facebook page. I am not providing a link as there are some racist comments in what he had to say, but this actually took me off guard; .
  13. Another nut job being stupid. If the USA would make a universal law that the punishment for murder in cold blood is the death penalty no questions asked, I think crimes like this would go down by a pretty large percentage. IMO that is.
  14. An AR that looked like an AR, none of this sissy grip crap. The g/f would be PO'ed, but she'd get over it.
  15. Got home late from visiting friends so just roast beef with horseradish cheddar sandwiches, a little Russian Dressing good to go.
  16. I mean no disrespect, but, who goes into NYC for a "family day"? Maybe shopping, but a family day? We have no kids, even if we did, doing a family outing would be a pic-nic, hiking trip, or just getting out of the city we live in. Maybe it's just me. Being someone who loves being in the woods for more then just hunting has possibly tainted my view on what "getting out of the house" means. NYC has always had the violence, it just got tamed in certain areas and some areas were left out of the public eye as for what goes on. I don't live there, don't like to go there, and I hate the fact then when you tell someone from another state you are from NY they automatically 'assume' you are from NYC.
  17. I used the nice morning to get out for my last squirrel hunt of the season. It was a bit screwy wearing just a sweatshirt and light camo jacket in February.
  18. Never heard of it. Just looked it up on IMDb. Sounds interesting. We just changed service providers and I haven't set up Netflix on the new provider. Guess I have to now.
  19. G-Man has a solid point. Hunting as it is right now is a 'privilege', not a 'right'. To have an amendment will never happen though. They keep taking away from the Constitution, I am sure they won't add anything. Being vocal and making our thoughts known is the best way to go. Start petitions like Mike Rossi did for dove hunting. I posted a link for free online petitions; http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/31107-free-on-line-petitions/ . As for the numbers they come up with and people who don't report deer kills? I don't see that changing any time soon. Too many skirting the laws and not tagging deer unless they absolutely have too. The only way to get a truly united front is to get the people who break laws willingly to stop.
  20. I do! Getting down to my skibbies in this weather with a snorkel and mask is brutal.
  21. Saltines and Ritz are great with sardines. I also like ( this might not sound like it would be good but...) sardines on original nacho Dorito's.
  22. I am scouting a new area of state land. So far not very impressive for gun hunting. But, there is potential for bass fishing. I also spent a little time getting re-acquainted with some other state land I used to hunt.
  23. Cooked a turkey, made garlic and basil mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans.
  24. I have tried watching Mountain Monsters a few times. I have to admit that crew cracks me up. Especially the episode where the leader yanked out his own tooth with a pair of pliers, even it if was fake it was funny. I love how the "traps" never work. You can't catch what isn't there. LOL
  25. I love sardines! I buy them all the time, never paid attention to brand. I like them in oil, hot sauce, and basic tomato sauce. They are good for you and a great little snack.
