  1. He's a great coach. Was a great player too. He would be a huge step up for a few teams. I think wherever he ends up he will be a winner. Too much BS going on in Carolina since Tepper took over. They really needed to get rid of Newton last year.
  2. Have you sat him down and told him, "hey, that's just not the way we do it here"?
  3. C'mon.....been way too long, and you guys have been more than patient. I'd really, really like to have one too for a get together. But I'm afraid to order one now. But I will if you guys get yours? Zem, if burmjohn were to OK it. Could you take the logo from the forum and reproduce it on a shirt? I don't mind supporting huntingny. And gladly will if possible. But if the product isn't there or can't be sent, I'd still simply want to have a tee and a sweat with this forums logo on it. burmjohn????

    Beaver

Eat more beaver!!!! Simmer till nice and moist and dive right in! Enjoy! Sorry. Pygmy put me up to saying that.....hehehe.
  5. Deer can not reason like a human. They can not say " hey!... you go first"! Yes, they can learn danger comes from humans, and adjust the timing of their movements to the safest part of the day. Or travel in thicker areas, instead of more open ones. But they can NOT reason! They are animals! Simple as that. Anyone saying otherwise, is attaching the "Bambi Syndrome" that implies that wild animals think like us! Just not the way it is in "real nature". Just for the record, I have seen and killed, a good many mature bucks over the decades. Including this years gun buck aged by DEC at five years old. I can honestly say that never once have I seen them use a "scout". They are by nature one of the most cautious and seclusive animals in the woods. And they become more so with every year they are alive. If not for the instinct to reproduce, most muture bucks, three years and older, would become almost unkillable by most hunters! Myself included!
  6. I've never been one to measure my seasons, by deer killed. But by the quality of the time, trying to do so.
  7. They just don't come any tougher than wooly. He's still around, just really busy. Was wondering about some of the members mentioned too. Hope they are all ok? When I go to the clearing at the end of the path, have a huntingny GTG and talk smack about me!!!!! The first deer season, after I reach the clearing, I'll come and sit with each and every one of ya's!!
  8. Happy Birthday Zeekman!!! All the best for you today, and every day sir!
  9. Nice work Matt!!! They are beautiful! The candlesticks, as well as your little princess! For sure! We will gather up the youngsters, and head over Cole Hill, to Onderdonk, and do some ice fishing!! I'll be looking forward to it right after the holidays.
  10. We fishermen know what we want in a boat. And what's right for one, is completely wrong for another based on how and what we fish for. Rob, you have done it long enough to know exactly what you want and need! Settle for nothing less! Buy once cry once and you will always be happy out on the water! The console steer, is to me the most comfortable with my bad shoulders. And I would always prefer to have a little more HP than to be underpowered. Both of the boats you are leaning towards are nice boats. The only issue you have is deciding what will work the best for YOU. You already know the answer to that better than any of us. Go with exactly what you 'want' and 'need' and perhaps a little more. And don't look back! You will never be sorry! I have had many different boats over my lifetime. And when it came to my last purchase, I knew what I 'wanted' and 'needed' for what I enjoyed fishing for most....bass. So a pro style bass boat was the answer to me. By the time I got done adding all the gadgets and gizmos I had quite the sticker shock!! BUT.....there is not one time, that I turn the key on that boat when my face doesn't light up in a smile. It fits me perfect. That is your decision to make on your new boat purchase my friend. What will fit YOU perfect??? I think you already know. Good luck. Can't wait to see the pic's of the new rig! See ya on the water!!
  11. $120 will get a beautiful euro done by a pro, and camo dipped too! That is where my gun buck went this year. I have done a few on my own. But they don't come out quite as nice as his. AND.... I don't have the mess, or clean up to do. Just drop it off and pick it up. I don't really mind letting someone who is very good at it do the work for me. I'm more than happy with the price and most importantly the results.
  12. What a nice offer! Thanks so much my friend! But I'll decline. If I do go out for muzzleloader, I have a spot on the south end of our property, I can get to with snowshoes. South facing slope with thick pines, on the bottom. With an abundant oak ridge still loaded with acorns above. This spot has produced over and over again in late season, over the decades.
  13. With no 4H DMP and 30+ inches of snow, guess I'll have to make do with following this thread for the remainder of this season. Even though I know where the deer will be! Late season in the snow can be very productive, with the deer more settled down and patternable. Some of my best bucks have come at this time of the season. Best of luck to all still trying to punch tags!!
  14. My wish..... is to have as much fun hunting next year, as I did this year! Hunting in WNY with moog, Culvercreek, Terry and Gary was a highlight of this season! Santa is still saving for an AR predator rifle. Maybe next year?
  15. All the thanks I need, is to see you in a picture with your first deer! You really do got this!
  16. With the amount of deer sign in your pic's, there WILL be some deer in that area. Either some of the ones that saw you, or others that did not. The key as I said before, is to get in there quietly, and sit there quietly, downwind, without movement, to draw their attention to you. And use a big tree or something to break up your outline. It really is that simple. Try not to over think it. Get in there and send it!
  17. Tom, Luna and Kunox are the dream team of blood trackers! So sorry to hear injury has cut short, a dynamic season you all were having this year. Sending you all, good thoughts and prayers, for a full recovery. Wishing the dream team a wonderful holiday season. And to continued success in 2020 ! Take care.
  18. OK Hank, just settle down a bit and let's work this out. First, you have plenty of deer in that area with all those tracks. That's good! Next those deer were feeding there in your pic's. Looks to be an oak and they were pawing the snow to get the acorns, which are a preferred food source, for deer this time of year when they are available. Also good! So you have an area where deer are obviously feeding. You need to sit DOWN WIND of this area about 75 yards away. Find a big tree, a blow down, or large rock to sit in front of, to break up your human outline. SIT! Don't move! When you do, make it in slow motion. Deer are very good at picking out the slightest movement! Just sit and wait them out. Trying to stalk them, or cut them off, won't work so well until you get a bit more experience under your belt. Sit so you have at least one or two open shooting lanes, to the trail with all the tracks. And just wait for a deer to move into your shooting lane. Slowly raise your gun, get on target, aim small, miss small, and gently squeeze the trigger. You got this man! It's not real hard if you have the deer there, and you do! OK quick review. Find a spot DOWNWIND, a ways off that trail that will hide your outline. 75 yards or so. Sit quietly. Don't move around! Slow motion when you do. Especially when deer are near. Wait them out. They are there! They will come. Make sure where you set up you have a couple open shooting lanes to where you expect the deer to come from. Take your time with the shot. Aim small, miss small. Hope this helps ya. You will learn something each time you go out! That will build experience. The more experience you have, the more enjoyment and success you'll have. Always remember, the deer themselves will always be your best teachers. Slow and steady. Good luck! You got this man!
  19. My Panthers fired Head Coach Ron Rivera. Mixed feelings about that. He was the best coach in franchise history. Also the Panthers current problems go much deeper than the head coach.
  20. I find it disgusting that ANY team would play to lose, to gain a better draft pick the next year!! Every team should try to win every game they play, regardless of what their win loss record is!!! Any team found to be doing otherwise, should be sanctioned and fined millions!!!
  21. I'm just thankful you made it out of that adventure well and good! Smart of you to not risk coming down that ladder! Glad it all worked out Jay. My Christmas lights stopped working after we got the 30 inches of snow. I'm not going to bother finding out why either!
  22. With so much connected to the newer vehicles of today, I would only let a factory (dealer) mechanic do this type of work. Yes, it absolutely will cost more to have it done at a stealership. But in the long run it could save you much more money, if not done to the specifics and codes, of that particular vehicle? And it will not in any way void the factory warranty. Also, should ANY problem develop, they are the most qualified to fix it. As opposed to someone who just 'kinda knows' how to install a remote starter.
  23. Went for many years with just a Woolrich red checkered hat and coat. Then went to the black camo pattern on blaze orange. I have been very close to deer, on the ground, wearing this and not noticed by the deer. Even though it's not the law to wear blaze orange in NYS. It is highly recommended that you do so. Be seen. Be safe.
  24. A hearty congratulations on your first deer Enders!! Well done sir. Over the many years I've deer hunted, I have killed a few deer. But none were as sweet as that very first one!!! Like others have said, each and every deer you take home is a trophy! Enjoy the bounty.
