I always have wipes with me. Came in handy last weekend when my buddy sliced his finger on the broadhead while field dressing his buck. My way of dealing with the "deer expert" is to keep saying "you don't say" to everything he says.......

Awesome looking truck! Congrats! Now go out and get her dirty!!!!
-
Congratulations! Great buck!!! And he sure looks good in the back of your Ranger!

Yup.....that would be a sure trip to the ER for me! As long as I fell on moog, I'd probably be ok....... I have a three day weekend starting Saturday, and another next weekend. With this cooler weather moving in, there should be some great deer movement, along with some rutting activity! I took a good tumble last night climbing over the pasture fence in the backyard, retrieving an arrow shot at 60ish, that I misjudged distance on. (long shots at practice make shorter ones hunting a chip shot) Very sore today, but lucky I didn't break something! C'mon Saturday!!!!

I tried em for the first time when I was in the Army. As hungry as I was, I still couldn't finish the tin. Tried em a few more times over the years. Still have yet to finish a tin. Even tried warming the tin over a campfire. Didn't finish em. Just never could aquire a taste for em. Same with sushi.

I've seen some of your knife skills and you are pretty dang good! It won't take long for you to master those new knives. The coons came out nice! No doubt, soon you'll be adding some song dogs to the racks! Were you thinking Terry's for the floor anchor and winch? Real nice set up there! And a heck of a guy too! Great thread.

Chasing and grunting over at the farm tonight Matt. I'll be over your way Saturday morning. Cooler temps. And good timing should make this a great weekend! Best of luck to ya sir! -
Big time grunting and chasing behind the house up at the farm this evening!!! 4H hilltowns.

No......I'd rather hunt gators in Florida. And who in their right mind would make a post about hunting freakin manatee's????...

Over the weekend out in 8H with moog, we saw a bunch of bucks running doe. I saw one of the biggest bucks I've ever seen in the woods checking a doe, that still had her fawn with her on Saturday. Next day I jumped the fawn bedded by itself by the stand. Going to work this morning in 4H I saw two small bucks running a doe. This weekend, with cooler temps moving in should really be good for deer movement! Go to your pinch points and funnels guys!!! The next two to three weeks are gonna be good!!

He looks kinda pissed off that you weren't there!! What a buck!

I got one in the mail for 4H a few years ago, and my grandson got one a couple years ago. Be nice to find one in the mail this year as we both got declined for the 4H DMP this year. Congrats to you guys that got the nice surprise!!!

Been up most of the night! Hard to sleep when my buddy sounds like a wounded wildebeest!!!... Outside right now, the wind is blowing the rain sideways! Not a good day for bowhunting. But what a day we had yesterday! Thanks to a guy with a heart as big as he is....moog. He unselfishly gave me and my lifelong hunting partner Gary, the best stands on the property. Based on wind and his experience. Both Friday evening and Saturday. And what a property it is with multiple big mature bucks seen! And a nice one taken by Gary. A tip of the hat to Bob (CulverCreek) and his friend Terry!! Two absolutely great guys who offered a perfect place to butcher and cape Garys buck! They just don't come any better than these guys out in WNY!! Will post more on Gary's deer and hunt in the harvest thread when I get home. Thanks again Brian! Our door will always be open to you for hunting anything on our properties! Same for you Bob and Terry! This has been an awesome trip!- 9790 replies

Head west old man....... -
Yeah it really would be nice for that! All my 100 inch euros could fit in there nicely!!! And 100 inch bucks are good ones around my part of 4H ! With just a small bit of shelf work, it would also make a darn nice crossbow cabinet too!!! With the euro mounts in there too!!! And if they would just pass full inclusion, and I could use my crossbow more. I perhaps would shoot bigger bucks? But then the euros would be too big to fit in the cabinet! Hmmmph......

I've never tried deer heart before. But after reading this, I may just use a recipe from here, and give it a go? I will have to shoot a deer first. Never a guarantee around here! But I usually do just enough to get it done.

Looks like just plain bush or tree roots to me. Also much too long for sang roots. The pronounced segregated lines on what you have are not found on the ginseng roots.
