  1. Same here. I just don't seem to find time during the week. And want to hit the range next weekend, or the one after that. Just a few shots to make sure my hunting rifle is dead on. This load works perfect in my Sako. Once bow season starts time really gets scarce. So today was the perfect day for me to get lost in the basement. I'm still relatively new at reloading. So I really take my time with case prep and the loading process. It is tedious, but I've found that I really get into it once I get going.
  2. I should have been cleaning the garage. But hit the bench instead. Best of luck on the pig hunt. That sounds fun!!!!
  3. Best set up I've found for my Sniper 370 is the Carbon Express Piledriver And the Muzzy Trocar HBX 100g 4 blade hybrid head. Very accurate and hard hitting. And for the money the 370 is a great crossbow.
  4. Was a rainy day here today. So went down to the reloading bench, to get some 270 rounds done for the range and hunting. I find my time at the bench to be very relaxing, and enjoyable. 140gr Nosler BT 52 gr of H4831 Overall lenght... 3.265
  5. Not all my blinds are this solid Mike, but most are. I've found that I can get away with more movement, if I need to shift positions for a shot. An important factor for consistent ground hunting. Also on long cold sits, I can move my feet and legs to stay comfortable, and not get noticed as much. Your blind looks good! Hope you get one from it this year! Nothing beats being eye to eye with the deer on their level. I've found it to be much more exciting than being high above in a tree.
  6. Looks great! Brush blinds are my #1 way to hunt. Find a good spot you know deer will be moving through, and gather up whatever is laying around. Got dozens of them scattered between two properties. In really good spots, I'll have more than one, for a changing wind direction. This is one of my favorites. Killed a few from here. Bow and gun. Saved and hunted only for when the rut heats up. Many times I've had deer standing just outside the blind.
  7. After a couple small adjustments, I now have this years hunting set up shooting well, out to 40 yards. Went with the 100gr four blade Muzzy MX4 fixed head, and the Glory Nock lighted nock. And of course my new to me Obsession Phoenix, set at 52lbs. This is what I'll be practicing with now until the start of the season. Everything on this set up is new to me. And light years ahead of my 20 year old set up from last year. I'm very excited to head out to the deer woods on October 1st !
  8. Here is my unbiased opinion of the Glory Nock. I love it!! Installed the bushing and then the nock, it fit fine, bushing and nock were nice and tight, no glue needed. Easy. I added my Muzzy MX4 100gr broadhead, and shot at 20 yards. Was consistently hitting high and right. I shot a different arrow without the lighted nock, and was hitting the same spot. So it was the broadhead that changed my POI. Even tried a three blade Muzzy, and a NAP Thunderhead, all hit the same. So it was not the Glory Nock that made the difference in POI with my set up. So I made a couple of small adjustments and was hitting fine out to 40 yards with my hunting set up. Cool! The Glory Nock was so easy to shut off! Just put the nock back on the string, press the button, and pull it off, and it's off. With no tool needed. That simple! Picture above, doesn't really show how bright the nock is. It's plenty bright. Brought it into the garage, to simulate lower light conditions, and it was super bright! Being this is the only lighted nock I've ever tried, I can't really compare it to any other brand. But I will say, that these were easy to install, shot fine, are so very easy to turn off, and definitely bright enough! Just another change to my hunting set up for this year. Even an old guy can change things and make it more fun!! I give Glory Nocks the grampy two thumbs up rating.
  9. My money would be on wooly! A world class artist extrordinaire! And a heck of a good guy too!
  10. First shot at 20 with 100gr Muzzy MX4 and Glory lighted nock. Shot three more after this, they all landed about the same spot. So looks like I'll need to adjust a little.
  11. First shots of the day. At 20.... At 30..... At 40..... Hitting pretty good. Now on to broadheads and lighted nocks.
  12. That with the longbow? Yup....that will get it done sir!
  13. Nice pic's! Got plenty of activity going on the property!
  14. Shooting from a chair is perfect practice for ground blind hunters! Way to go Biz. That practice will pay off nicely, when one of those shooter bucks comes in to ya!
  15. Nothing touches my heart more than a growing family! Nice additions my friend! Those two look like they can really chew up some wood! I know you will keep em fed!
  16. Most of my deer hunting over decades did not involve trail cams. That said, we would look for well used trails, which usually is mostly doe and fawns using them. But with hunting the doe, it's easy enough if you know what and where they are eating, and where they are bedding. Then just set up between the two. Soon enough, a doe group will be coming through. For doe, use a fawn bleet! They will most of the time come to check and see, what fawn is "lost" or whatever. Even if she has no fawns of her own.
  17. All time favorite car of mine too. Many years ago, a good friend of mine had one. Pearl white. He did a frame off restoration, and dropped in a 327 built with a moderate can. It brought a smile to my face every time he cranked it up. Sadly he hit some hard times and sold it. And I didn't have the $ at the time. I regret not buying it to this day.
  18. That blank wall looks so much better now! What a great buck and beautiful mount! He'll be hard to top, but you can do it! Better make more wall space!
  19. My youngest brother called and wanted to fish. OK I said, so we headed down to the Mohawk, between locks 9 and 10. Hammered the smallies! And had a great time with little bro! These were the biggest two. Mine.....3lbs 13oz Little Bro......3lbs 11oz
  20. Very nice restoration of that Cub. They are wonderful machines, even after all these years.
  21. I'm probably the worst on this forum for guessing age from a picture. I do much better on live deer. But with the pot belly and good size antler bases, my guess is at least a three year old buck. And a very nice one at that. Once he starts to bulk up his neck muscles, and prepares for the rut, he will fill out more. If he's on land you can hunt, good luck with him! He's a trophy buck!
  22. I'm not from the area. But if Dad is looking for pizza, hopefully he won't be in the hospital much longer! Hope he feels better soon, and you find some great pizza to share with him! Sending all the best with good thoughts. Bon appetite.....
  23. Got back home from the Buffalo area this evening. First thing, was to put Mr. Matt Bear in his new home. He looks pretty happy there. And I'll be happy and honored, each time I look at him. Because I'll think of the awesome friend that made him for me. Thanks so much wooly!!!!!
  24. Trico was a lucky pup to have you, and the family he loved so much. All his life, he loved you all, with all that was in him. Even when you missed the birds he put up for ya!!! He could not have had a better life, with anyone else. He trusted you would always to do the best you could for him. You didn't let him down this time, or ever. His loyalty never dies. When your time comes, you'll meet again. With tail wagging and orange vest in his mouth, he'll be waiting for ya. Just don't miss.
