  1. That skunk was no match for you!!! His days were numbered from the very start. Nice work! Hope I never get on your bad side!!!
  2. Happy Birthday sir!!!! All the best to ya!
  3. One of the best threads of the year. Wishing You, Luna and Kunox a safe and successful tracking season! You guys are a spectacular team! One of these times we have to meet up when you go to John's place. I'm "right around the corner". If ever I can help, just give me a shout.

    Blind Work

For me, nothing beats hunting deer on their level. You know what I mean Biz, you're a ground pounder too!
  5. I would think corn fed deer taste better too! I know Chef is just playing. But probably a baiting thread is not good for our image here.......

    Blind Work

Today my grandson and I were at the farm. We redid my hunting partners favorite blind. He's been a bit under the weather. He's killed a few nice bucks from this spot. Killed a couple there myself. Probably one of the best spots on the property. He's good to go now. Next we went up to "the big swamp". Got two blinds in there that always gets some action during the rut. Just a bit of tidying up needed here. We had a great day in the woods together. He has a busy schedule with school and football. So nice he spends his one day off with grampy.
  7. Good thing I wasn't with ya Jay!!! I coulda really embarrassed myself....
  8. Happy Birthday times two!! Hope ya had a great day guy's.
  9. Welcome back Doc! Missed you around here!
  10. For late season, as long as it's an open pattern, brand doesn't really matter that much. But you will want warmth. After there is snow on the ground, snow camp is awesome. Again, brand doesn't matter to me. Quality is always a good buy in the end though.
  11. Tried to vote, but I don't have Facebook.
  12. The 'REAL' Bill Schmidt knows turkeys! Good luck out there Cynthia!
  13. That gas soaked rag at night is what works best for us too. 9 Out of 10 times, it will work the first time. Good that ya didn't get too tore up Moog! Them little bugger's are nasty! And are quite painful.
  14. My day started pretty early for set up. And to early evening with clean up. But we added 29 new hunters to our ranks today! Great bunch too. Asked lots of questions. Even during the breaks. I'd be proud to share the woods with any of them. Becoming a Hunter Ed instructor has been, and is, one of the most rewarding things I've done in my years of hunting. When a novice, youngster, or lady hunter asks a question, and you can answer in a way they can understand. You see that light go on in their eyes.......like "Oh Yeah"! It is so worth the time and commitment. Ten times worth it. As you know they will always remember it. The big smiles and fist bumps at the end..........are truly priceless.
  15. Should wrap up the division this coming week. Perhaps home field advantage too? Going into the playoffs, there is definitely some stout competition for sure. But I think the Yanks do have a legitimate chance of going all the way. Will have to see how it all plays out. I do enjoy postseason baseball!!
  16. Glad you're OK Jerry! A wild animal can be unpredictable. If that buck lives a couple more years, he'll run off every other buck nearby. Just a real aggressive buck. I killed a buck a couple years ago with my bow that we called Big Bully. He was three when I killed him, but only had a decent four point rack. We named him that when he was a yearling spike, because any time he saw another deer, he'd run it off! Even bigger bucks!! At two years old we watched him run off a mature eight point!!! Didn't matter to him! When he stepped out in the open with other deer, he immediately laid his ears back and postured. Does, fawns, bigger bucks, didn't matter. He truly was a big bully! The day I shot him, I saw a nice eight going away from me so I grunted. A short time later here comes Big Bully down the run looking for the deer that grunted with his ears laid back. When he stopped ten yards in front of me and looked out to the brush field, I put an arrow through his boiler room. Could swear we heard the other deer in the area having a party, as we loaded him up! Pic's of him in the bow harvest thread from 2017.
  17. I am embarrassed to admit I'm a Panthers fan. C'mon Man!!!! Scam Newton needs to go! When you put that much thought into your wardrobe, not the playbook. And haven't won the last eight games you played in? It's time to move on! Your ego got the best of ya Cam.......
  18. We have some Browning Dark Ops cams, and a bunch of medium to low price cam's as well. Some of the best pictures, quality wise night/day, that we got last year were from a cheap Primo's cam, I won from phade.
  19. I can't begin to thank you enough, for all the hard work and dedication you put into this wonderful program. I know you don't look for accolades. But if anyone deserves them, it's you and all the other volunteers who make Field To Fork work, to bring new hunters into our ranks. In these times, it is sportsmen like yourself Bob, that give of themselves to make a difference. It is far too rare to give back the way you do. If hunting the way we know it now, is to be passed on, to future generations, it will be because of sportsmen and hunters like Culvercreek, who stood up and made a difference!
  20. We are doing another Hunter Ed Course on Saturday. Woodlawn Sportsmen's Club. Think we have about 30 coming. May be able to fit a couple more. Giving the Bow course in two weeks. Same place. Adding safe hunters to our ranks is very rewarding to me. The smiles and high fives as they receive their certificates, is the icing on the cake.
  21. Nice that someone else noticed. It is a beauty for sure. Harvest moon. How cool is that. The next full moon will start up a little bit of rut action!
  22. New four legged family members are always fun!! She looks like the perfect addition to the family!
  23. Really enjoying the pictures and commentary from your Main vacation Bionic! You two are definitely in your "Happy Place"!!! Keep it coming! Enjoy all the Maine woods has to offer! Hope you see a moose!
