I'm set up well for a WNW wind! And I won't melt. Though trying to blood track in the rain is a challenge.

I'm ready to send it!

I recently went through some issues with arrows hitting all over the place. Part of the problem was the bow, part of the problem was me. A simple tiny movement down, with the rest helped the bow part. (thanks moog) Due to shoulder issues, and a new bow this year, I noticed my form changed slightly, after filming some shots with my phone. I was moving the bow arm during the shot. And punching the release instead of squeezing it, during the float when the pin hit the target. So my grip now has my bow hand in a V, with fingers forward and not curled around the on the grip. And with my mental check down of the shot, I now include "SQUEEZE" and "FOLLOW THROUGH" while the pin floats near/around the target. What a huge turn around in accuracy by making these simple adjustments. Sometimes it really is the little things that make a big difference.

No frost here yet...... But the last couple of nights have been in the 30s. Mid 80s for this weekend though. Typical up and down late summer, early fall weather. Leaves are starting to change colors nicely too! We'll be hunting soon!!!!!

That ban hammer would be used up, to where there'd be no one left.... Except Turkeyfeathers.

Of course "HIS" insurance company will try to pass the buck if possible. That is what they do!! Like if you were injured, they will ALWAYS try to get you to settle for a lowball amount. That is why you get an attorney. Never take what they say. Or sign off on anything!

Congratulations Grizz! Great story, Great hunt, Great bear!!! And also a hearty congrats to the young hunter that scored as well! You have officially drawn first blood here this year! Way to go sir!

I second that motion!

I have a set of that mesh leafy pattern stuff too. It does work great for the ground blind hunting that I do. Inexpensive and slips on over anything. I did trim off the "leaves" from the inside of my bow arm though.

Deer will smell you if you use permethrin or not. That's a fact. Ticks will surely chow down on you if you don't. Be smart and protect yourself. Use permethrin. It works really well, but also keep in mind, nothing is 100% but it is very effective. So check yourself and shower after every outing. Lyme, or any other tick borne illness is no joke. And every precaution must be utilized to keep yourself safe.

I have been looking at some of Bionic's pictures and thinking the same thing!! You doing any fishing up there Bionic???

A world class beauty right there! I've never heard of them before this. But on some rainy evening I will go online to check out Connecticut Shotguns. Just to look and learn. As my gun fund balance is no doubt way too low for something this nice. But like you said, it doesn't cost anything to dream! Thanks for posting this!

I may be going out to see moog at the end of October? I could drop them off. You and I could do a bow hunt together before that, at the lake property? Also....I have owed you a cup of coffee for so long, I forgot what for???? At the very least we can meet up for that!

I see you went with lighted nocks Jay. Cool! Nice job on the eats Larry! And good luck with Cuomo's grant money.... But you academy guys deserve it!

Thank You my friend! That was it!! Shooting much better now!! First shot tonight at 20. First shot at 30. First shot at 40 Took a few more shots at 40 and they were all good ones. I haven't had much time to shoot lately, getting stuff done. But lowered the rest just a bit, last time I shot, and that seemed to help. So I resighted the pins and let it go until tonight. And BAM! Confidence is back! Also changed my grip slightly. Now I can just concentrate on shooting this hunting set up every chance I get. Again thanks to Moog, and all you guys that gave advice to help me out. As always, you're the best. Real close to being ready for the season now. And to think, I was contemplating giving up the bow last year.......

Being a bow hunting only zone, the bucks can get some age on them in the Pine Bush. That's all they need to get big. Along with all the expensive shrubbery they can add to their diet. I too have seen some real slammers in the PB. The key to hunting it is access. Finding the right piece to set up on, and a good way to get into it, will really up your chance at a wallhanger. I would like to be more specific. But I have been sworn to secrecy. If I were to give details on where, how, and when, "they" would come for me! But really, if you can overcome the access issue. Most anywhere in the Pine Bush, can be a great place to hunt trophy deer, for an adaptable bowhunter.

That skunk was no match for you!!! His days were numbered from the very start. Nice work! Hope I never get on your bad side!!!

One of the best threads of the year. Wishing You, Luna and Kunox a safe and successful tracking season! You guys are a spectacular team! One of these times we have to meet up when you go to John's place. I'm "right around the corner". If ever I can help, just give me a shout.

For me, nothing beats hunting deer on their level. You know what I mean Biz, you're a ground pounder too!

I would think corn fed deer taste better too! I know Chef is just playing. But probably a baiting thread is not good for our image here.......

Today my grandson and I were at the farm. We redid my hunting partners favorite blind. He's been a bit under the weather. He's killed a few nice bucks from this spot. Killed a couple there myself. Probably one of the best spots on the property. He's good to go now. Next we went up to "the big swamp". Got two blinds in there that always gets some action during the rut. Just a bit of tidying up needed here. We had a great day in the woods together. He has a busy schedule with school and football. So nice he spends his one day off with grampy.
