  1. Good luck to the team today zag!!!
  2. I'm with the just walk down the middle guys. And don't sneak! Nonchalantly just walk a straight line, preferably into the wind, without stopping, until you reach the woodline. Years ago I knew an old timer who told me, "deer know when your hunting them! So act and walk like you're not hunting, when they can see ya"! He killed some of the biggest bucks in this area during his lifetime. So when he gave advise, I listened.
  3. For the money that is a really good rifle Jay!! When we went to rifle here in 4H a few years ago, I bought that same exact gun, in 7mm/08. It shoots very good groups out to 250 yards and sub moa at 100. Most everything I ran through it shot good too. I settled on Federal Premium Nosler BT in 240 gr. Google Axis trigger spring!! For $20 you can replace the trigger spring, and go from about 7lbs to just a touch over 3lbs trigger pull. It made a huge difference. And you can do it yourself in less than 15 min!!! Also, it is SAFE!!! As far a 7mm/08 performance on deer? I've shot four bucks with it. Total distance traveled by all four....zero yards! It is now my grandsons rifle as I upgraded a couple years ago.
  4. Welcome to another football season! Kinda boring, but NFL preseason starts tonight. Looking forward to catching a couple Panthers games. And some other NFL games over the course of the season. Go Panthers! Also some college games, as they are every bit as good, if not better than watching the pro's with the right matchups. Go Gamecocks! What's your favorite teams? Are you expecting them to go all the way, or just be better than last year?
  5. Been running boats for more than 45 years. Never has anyone on a boat I was in charge of, or any other boat, gotten so much as a scratch. Besides a fish hook removed once. I learned and studied marine laws, and boating safety, like many others. There are some who just went and bought a boat, or watercraft, and didn't bother to learn the laws of the water. Don't have a clue. I've seen it more and more over recent years on various bodies of water. And rarely is it a fisherman causing the problems out there. But sure, I do think it's a good idea to take a course, if you are going to be skimming across the water with your family in the new boat. The course has been "voluntarily available" for decades now!! That said, I think its just the latest big pile of stinking BS, passed down from a goofball governor, who just gets himself off by dictating over other people's lives! I'm just sick of some idiot telling me what I need to do!! I don't need to be saved from myself!!
  6. We were there on Monday. Nice stadium to watch a game. Hope you enjoyed the Yankees slug fest tonight!
  7. This is what I was going to say.
  8. I'd give em another year, he'll really be somthin special next year!!!! Yes, I am joking!!
  9. For me......."ANY" participation is a good year!!!!! And I'm sure I'll see some deer at some point in the season.....!
  10. So good to have ya back!!! Stunning work as always my friend!! That owl is absolutely beautiful! (as is everything you do) And certainly one of my all time favorites too, of my "Spirit Bird" !
  11. Nice shooting from the claw clan!!! Way to go !
  12. I could read the happiness in your words John! That was an epic hike my friend! The pictures are stunning, but no doubt nothing like being there! I'm happy the mountain spirits smiled on you!
  13. My observations of Baltimore, is if you stay close to the hotel, the harbor park, and Camden Yards field, it's not too bad? Got a ton of street hustlers everywhere though. And the rest of the city I've seen is a big ****hole! The boys and I did have a great time at the game. Made some more memories so it's all good. Be heading home to the green hills and fields in a few. No way in hell could I ever live in a place like this! Like I said, I've never been much of a big city guy. But even NYC seems better than Baltimore.
  14. Both my old Mathews and the new to me Obsession, shoot FP's and BH's the same. I'm shooting fixed 3 blade 100gr Muzzys from both bows. Shot some NAP Thunderheads too from both bows, and POI is still the same. Both bows set at about 50lbs.
  15. Saw quite a few head turners tonight! ...lol I am old but I ain't dead!!!
  16. Some nasty areas coming in for sure Biz! But Camden was a nice place to see a game. Great game tonight, and Thaaa Yankees win!!!
  17. Downtown Baltimore before the game tonight. I'm not much of a big city guy. But the game in Camden Yards should be fun!
  18. Perfect! Looks awesome Larry! Guess as the knees get older, it's either build a taller skinning shed, or shoot smaller deer? You made the right choice! With Tim and the guys helping out, that is what it's all about! Friends helping friends.
  19. Looking great Biz!! Good idea towing the tire to open up paths!!
  20. Heading down to Camden Yards for tomorrow nights game with my son and both grandsons!! Looking forward to the "boys get away"! Never been to downtown Baltimore, so don't really know what to expect? Hey Biz, what is the magic number for Yanks to clench the division? Can you give a daily update like last year?
  21. Wow!!!! Deer porn at its finest!!!! Some real studs ya got there!! Be waiting to see a couple of those bad boys on the ground this fall!
  22. I'd scream like a little girl if that thing landed on me!!!
