  1. Happy Birthday! All the best to you sir.
  2. Miraculously, no innocent bystanders or officers were hurt. Was it 19 rounds the officer fired before reloading? Looks like he needed every one! I'm happy he got to go home to his family.
  3. Did some hog hunting with dogs when i lived in South Carolina, many moons ago. Good times!!! Between the snakes, gators, dogs barking, hogs squeeling, running, laughing, cursing, grabbing, rolling and dragging the hogs.......not sure if I can still hang. But would love to do it one more time!

    Opossum

I would have knit my shikkers! Glad the fall wasn't worse than it was! How did that thing get in there? For whatever reason, I've always held a bit of animosity towards opossums. They just look like big rats to me. Heal up and have fun in Colorado!
  5. Man, that looks sweet! What a beautiful piece of art! How'd you get so much talent and I got none?.........'grampy shruggs'
  6. Is this a sub moa gun Bill? Resistance is cracking.
  7. I still have my red plaid coat from when I started deer hunting. But it's shrunk quite a bit since I wore it last. Was wearing just jeans, layered sweatshirts, and that coat, when I shot my first few deer. My Grampy, would just walk out in his barn clothes, and engineer hat, and shoot a deer.
  8. Should work perfect for what you want to do! With your new wheeler, you'll hardly know it's back there! Happy plotting and happy trails to ya!
  9. Surprised you haven't already done it my friend. It's just around the corner though! You're one of the best shooters I know.
  10. Someone got a heck of an outboard, for a heck of a price! That ol Merc will still be chuggin for years to come!
  11. I wholeheartedly agree. Especially with Growalot, this forum is not quite the same without her wit and knowledge. And she was always willing to help anyone. Though we butted heads a time or two, I'd like to see Belo come back as well.
  12. I agree. You don't even need to look at the head. Body shapes are completely different. The second pic, is of a much younger deer. A three year old offspring perhaps? Still a dandy buck!
  13. Thanks for sharing! This is the perfect solution for small "in the woods" plots! Easy work with a wheeler too!
  14. I'm with ya moog. I'm in it more for the fight, than the filets too. Most of the fish that do go in my freezer, are caught from beneath the ice. But seeing some of those really nice "eyes" that a few of the members here are reeling in. Makes me think FISH FRY!!!
  15. Two different bucks. The brow's are at different heights on the main, and the one from the bottom picture appears to have a burr or growth, just below the V, of the left brow and main beam.
  16. Those airdales in the first picture, look just as hard as ol Coyote Jack!
  17. Dang Larry, wish I was your neighbor! You got lots of cool stuff I'd be carrying home! And a good stash of ski I'm told too, for those over the fence discussions we'd have! Here's to you "neighbor"!....lol
  18. Looks like you got a real nice start to your "first real plot"! A little playing around with adjustments, and hitch, and you will be fine, for small out of the way plots. Much easier than using a hand rake, that's for sure! Best of luck with your plotting chef! You got this!
  19. Those old Merc 9.8's are almost bullet proof! This one looks to be in nice shape, at a great price! If I had a use for it, be well worth the ride out to you!
  20. Got a lot done today! Looks great! Nothing like working your own land! Could almost see the glow of your smile, from the Albany hill towns! Keep us posted on the progress.
  21. RIP.... I never met him. But have heard from others that did, they say he was a great guy.
  22. Once it's thoroughly dry, I don't smell the permethrin. My nose isn't the best anymore, after mant years in a print shop. But the Mrs, who can smell a ladybug fart at 100 yards, gave my treated hunting clothes the sniff test, and said it all just snells like dirt. I keep all my hunting clothes in airtight totes. In the bottom of each tote is a pillow case, half filled with dried leaves. Whenever I open a tote, all I smell is that leaves/woods smell. No matter what we do, if a deer is downwind, they will smell us! But anything we can do to keep our scent to a minimum. And perhaps mask it a bit with natural smells, does seem to help......sometimes.
