  1. I've learned from your troubles Larry. - Sleep on bad news - Don't be late going to the bank - Never argue with the wife!!! Now I'll probably get a ticket before the end of the month.......
  2. I was a resident there many, many moons ago. Nice place. What beach., Yankee or Vallano?
  3. Two very nice bucks, congratulations again! It was you and your Dad if I remember correctly. Love seeing that.
  4. Stick with him! It's truly a rarity, these days to always get a job well done, AND "your" meat back. We started doing our own quite a few years ago. Because even then, we couldn't find a place where could get both at the same time. I actually enjoy doing it myself now. And would never even think to bring my deer to someone else.
  5. Let me know how you like the Wicked Lights. I may have to order a set. Got a small hand held and looking to upgrade too. Good luck out there with the yotes!!
  6. Nice coyote gun! At a good price too. I would put a Boyd's stock on that and be good to go! My buddy just put a Boyd's on his Axis, and what a difference it made to that gun! Good luck with the sale.
  7. That looks exactly how I like mine. But you should get what you ask and pay for. Ever think about doing it all yourself? Then it is always, done exactly how you want it done.
  8. I Think McDermott will be a good fit for the Bill's. I'm not a Bill's fan, but I do want to see them do well. And perhaps knock down the Patriots a notch or two.
  9. That picture is a keeper! Very nice artwork for a four year old! You have every reason to be a proud father, of your little hunter girl. So cool to see stuff like this!
  10. These, I'm sure are very nice bino's. I've never looked through a pair of $2000 binoculars. I really am curious as to what the biggest difference is between these and my $200 Nikon's. And I'm sure they are clearer, and gather light better and all that. But I really want to know what makes them 10X more money? To me my Nikons are pretty clear and are decent in low light, for my hunting situations. Though I don't hunt out west, where the difference could be huge. This is in no way a slam on these very nice Zeiss binoculars. I am just looking to learn something is all.
  11. This will be something I'd like to do, when I finally retire in a few years. There are a couple local farms, that produce some very good syrup. I always make it a point to stop by when they are cooking down the sap. I love the smells and the good conversations! These guys have told me when I'm ready, that they have enough stuff to get me started on a small scale. And are willing to help with tips and advice, as well. Just what I need, another hobby! But I'm looking forward to putting something else on the table, that I procured myself.
  12. If I ever saw a deer like that, close enough for a shot. It would be my heart that stopped beating, not the deer's. Heck, just the run of the mill eight points around here get my heart pounding!
  13. It's always fun to meet members from here. So yesterday I met up, for coffee, with biggamefish, at the Mobil in East Berne.. What a knowledgeable and good guy! He has property, close by, in between my two properties. So we compared trail cam pic's and hunting stories and even a few fishing yarns. He really has it together, as far as what he wants to get out of his land and deer hunting in general. He is also a member of a hunting club, I'm on the waiting list to join! Hope to share a hunt and perhaps a fishing trip this year, with a true outdoorsman! Nice meeting you Matt!
  14. I'd just stick to thinking about hunting.
  15. Right on the money with this advice. I'll add that dawn and dusk is good during any moon phase. Also we have had luck at mid morning on cold sunny days. But as already stated, cold full moon nights, at anytime of the night will always be the optimal time to go. Good luck out there!
  16. He is definitely a maure buck. And you can clearly see the pedicil where he dropped one side of his rack. And the spike growing in the center between the main beams. A truly unique buck!
  17. Happy Birthday ! Enjoy "your" special day, with fun family and good times!
  18. Very cool looking! I really like it! Happy shooting!
  19. My grandson and I are headed out to do some small game hunting in the morning. Will combine walking and sitting, to keep him from getting cold. Going out with him always warms my heart, so I'll be fine.
  20. I originally bought mine during a snowy deer season, to be able to get to my deer set ups. But I discovered how much fun and and great exercise it was in the off season during the winter. I really enjoy the solitude of the winter woods as the snow falls gently all around me. Snowshoeing is one of my favorite winter activities. And even my wife and grandkids will go along on nice winter days. So we make it a family fun day with a shorter hike, fire, hot chocolate and some snacks. Good times.
  21. No matter how well you plan your finances, It's always the "unexpected" expenses that throw a wrench in the machinery!
