    Age

Born in 57 and I'm 58. Started roaming the woods behind the house alone at 8 or 9 with a BB gun terrorizing the local starling population. Got my first 22 on my birthday in 68 and have been shooting and eating squirrels and small game ever since. Killed my first deer at 15 as we needed the meat for my seven siblings and single mom. Times were hard back then, but they were some the best days of my life.

    Spam

My mother used to make us fried spam sandwiches. Had a friend over after school and he said "I aint eatin that stuff". Years later on a camping/hunting trip,I made a big pot of cubed spam, potatoes and onion soup mix. After he wolfed down the first bowl and was halfway through the second, I asked him how do ya like spam now! Not bad was the reply. .....
  3. I'm surprised he is not plying his phony visa trade in the middle east . Seems he would do a better business there. And I think the moderators here, do an awesome job! Thanks guy's!
  4. Very pronounced mane and a very nice buck!!! I have seen them with a dark strip of hair along the back of the neck. But never one like yours! Really cool trophy!
  5. With the weather so nice this winter, I've been going out for coyote, rabbits and squirrels, most every weekend. Even doing some post deer season scouting. My grandson, hunting buddy and I, have been having a blast!
  6. This is our first year calling coyotes, and I'm learning they are no pushovers! We have gotten five out of fifteen or so sets, on different properties. And so far have not killed one from a set where we have killed one before. We are doing OK, we are learning, but so are the coyotes.
  7. Got slapped a couple of times and threw my back out, the last time I tried "picking up chicks". I'm good with alcohol and B S,ing about low power\fixed power, scopes and hunting guns though! Count me in!
  8. Sounds good to me. Was out yesterday with my grandson for bunnies. 2 for 3 for him. I didn't shoot as I was the dog and he's getting the hang of leading a little bit now. I know of at least one other member that would like to go as well. All are welcome! Got some good state and private land.
  9. If you were just a wee bit closer, and I didn't have to be at work, I'd be happy to join ya. Have fun and good luck!

    Arrows

Switched to carbons years ago too. I like the fact, that they are either straight or broken.
  13. I love bloodtrails in the snow!!! Another nice video, keep em coming!
  14. So glad your Mom is heading back home! Every day we have them is a precious gift. I hope that thing was not used before you put it on!!!........lol
  15. These are absolutely beautiful works of art. What an awesome keepsake to have of a special hunt and buck. The time and talent really shows when done. My hat's off to you!
  16. Welcome! Very good group here and very knowledgeable bunch too. Glad you stopped by, just pull up a seat and join right in!
  17. Almost all of my blinds have a milk crate for a seat. So I will need one long enough to use, while seated on one. Being a diabetic, it can be hard at times to hold a steady sight picture. I'm just looking for ways to hold rock steady be for the shot. And still be able to move the gun to where ever the deer show up.
  18. I'm thinking of getting a bi-pod for my hunting rifle and maybe the crossbow too. I hunt almost exclusively from natural ground blinds. I know it will add a little weight to the set up. And I have a Primo's trigger stick, but attaching a bi-pod, would be less to carry. Anyone use them? Pro's and con's? Opinions? Thanks!
  19. Happy Birthday! Today, it's all about you! Do something you enjoy. Surround yourself with family, friends and good food. Let the good times roll! It's your day!
  20. I won't bring a knife to a gun fight. If a situation is bad enough to have to pull a knife, there are better options.
  21. If I were to classify a crossbow, it would be with archery equipment. Pretty simple I think. So full inclusion is the way to go.
