  1. Put in my 10 bucks just to be in it. My life won't change if I don't win. It's only money.
  2. Welcome! Glad that you are joining us! Great bunch of hunters here for sure. Just pull up a seat and jump right in! Sounds like you have a lot to share.
  3. Welcome! Nice to have you stop by. Just pull up a seat and join right in.
  4. You have a great hunting partner with him! Hope he got a treat !
  5. Thanks for the case of heebie jeebies!
  6. Law abiding hunters should never be restricted, because of what a criminal poacher MAY do! Scumbags will always find a way to be scumbags!
  7. There is very little repercussions for committing certain crimes, but "easy" jail time. Perhaps if the penalty for that crime was death, maybe the crime would not be committed as often.
  8. First I have seen it. But looks good and has a good price. Give it a try and let us all know what you think, after some use.
  9. Sling on mine too. My Barnett Raptor is short and light. But still a bit awkward to carry while still hunting or a spot and stalk. But on a sling, just going to a stand, not bad at all. When I first started carrying it two years ago, it seemed way more awkward. But as I carry it more and more, ya kinda get used to it.
  10. When it's cold and sunny, I'll see more than when it's cold and cloudy. Also when it's real cold, they seem to spend a shorter amount of time out of the nest. Haven't seen one yet, just come in and jump in the stew pot! Bundle up and go get em! Even a short hunt is better than no hunt, if you have the time. Good luck!
  11. Happy Birthday! Hope your special day is filled with all the best things. Like family, friends and good food!
  12. Nice! That's a real beauty there!

    LayOff

Good that you had a long season this year. Maybe an early spring will get you back soon enough. And perhaps you can get stuff done that you didn't have time to get done. Throw in a little fun stuff too! Best of luck.
  14. Nice pic's and cool that you can call.....without a call!
  15. Very cool hobby! Looks like you have everything set up nicely too. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress!
  16. I'm not too good at judging photo's but here it is anyway. Three year old. Because he seems a bit broader in the lower neck and chest area than a two year old. It's just a guess and I'm wrong more often than right! Beautiful buck, whatever age he is.
  17. Welcome! Glad you decided to stop by. Got lots of great folks here, who are great at sharing a variety of hunting and outdoor knowledge and stories. Just pull up a seat and join in anytime!
  18. Always found it funny. When deer hunting, there would be half a dozen squirrels running around a spot. Then you go out to hunt the squirrels, and don't even see one! But see a bunch of deer! What's up with that?
  19. I think any improvements you make, will only benefit you. For a little time and money, what have you got to lose. Go for it!
  20. It's our rookie season. We will learn more each time out. We have a few different properties, time, and a few tricks of our own to throw back at them. And I love a good challenge!
  21. Calling in five on our first set was a cool surprise for a couple of rookies. But we have a bunch of coyotes on this property. And they have never been called to, that we know of. So each time we go, they will be harder to get, as I'm sure they will learn the game quicker than we will. I'm in no way under estimating their intelligence. That being said, I'm looking forward to learning each time we go out, to get better as well. We will constantly change locations and set ups along with calling sequences. Times of day and night. And it was just plain fun!!! We are using our deer rifles for now. And I shot this one with a Nosler BT. I do have a box of a solid copper Hornady XXT? (Not sure if that is right.) That may not tear them up so much. If we keep having fun doing this, I see a 243 or 223 in the near future. We also have shotguns with buckshot or turkey loads if we get them in close enough. Our main goal is to just reduce their numbers, while getting a bit of exercise for a couple of older guys, while having fun! And thanks again to all who responded!
