A good friend you are. Hope you will have one of your own to do after this weekend!
  2. Just love those Adirondack bucks! Congratulations!
  3. You can get into the woods as early as you want. Just can't legally shoot until sunrise.
  4. Congratulations! Nice buck.
  5. Great story! There are so many more things that make a fun, successful hunt, besides killing a deer! I believe you already know that though. Best of luck to you for the rest of the season!
  6. Never too late to move a stand, to get to where the deer are! Just move it and hunt it ASAP! Good luck!
  7. Welcome and best of luck this hunting season!

    Wind

Welcome back to NY Belo! Happy to hear you and the family made the trip intact! Best of luck to you hunting NY, while on vacation!
  9. I don't share many pictures of the deer I kill, except with family or close hunting friends. Never felt the need to brag or boost my ego. It's just a personal thing with me. I do enjoy seeing pictures of other hunters deer though. The picture in my mind, of the deer just before the shot, can never be duplicated.

    Help

As others have said, just hang your stuff outside. I don't take scent control to extremes anymore. I do shower in scent free soap before each hunt, wash clothes in scent free washer, hang stuff outside on covered part of the deck. I do take wind in my face while hunting to my advantage as much as possible though. For sure, you do not want to smell like an old billy goat. But there is nothing you can buy or use that will prevent a downwind deer from smelling you. Wish you the best of luck fearthebeard. I too have been finance challenged or broke in my lifetime. And I can tell you money does not make the hunter or the man.
  11. Welcome! Glad to have you stop by. Look forward to you giving us a few ADK buck stories and tips! Just pull up a seat and join right in! Best of luck to you hunting the big woods!
  12. Wow!!! Nice, no, awesome bucks!!! Got any room for an old grey beard grampy?....lol
  13. The best of luck to you and your son! He will carry those memories for life!
  14. I got a pain in MY shoulder, just LOOKING at that picture! Owch!!!
  15. Got everything ready to go. 7mm-08 is fine tuned, scope is turned down to lowest power as there is only a 60 yard max shot in this set up, first time hunting this spot opening day in four years. Three year old eight point last time. Clothes are all washed. Got the blaze vest and hats out to air. Warmer clothes on standby for when needed. Snacks, zip ties, rope, odds and ends in the pack. Honey do list, completed last Sunday. Just counting down the hours now!

I think we have all been spending too much time in the woods lately.
  17. Good for you! Glad you found something you like and will use, for a bargain price! Got pic's?
  18. Single pin HHA for me too. Been just a single pin for the last 15 or more years. Out to 30 yards i'm good to go. Great site picture, no pin confusion or blur. Works for me!
  19. Love Snickers while on stand! But the wrappers are so loud! So now I just unwrap a bunch of mini's and put them in a sandwich baggy. There! my deer hunting tip for today!!!.......lol
  20. We all have things go wrong while bowhunting, no matter how long we do it. You have two positive things going for you right now. First, you know what mistakes you are making and are doing all you can to sort them out. Second you have not wounded a deer and have plenty of deer in your area. Get back out there and get it done! You will feel so much better, once you lay hands on your bow kill. Best of luck to you out there!
