  1. LOL!!! Almost snarked coffee all over!
  2. I'm thinking less hunters = less shots = less incidences. Also I think hunters using rifles are less likely to spray and pray. But whatever the reason, hoping this will be the safest season on record. And also hoping the trend continues.
  3. Twice in my years of hunting, I have killed a nice buck on the last day of the season. And have seen top end bucks for my area, late in the season quite a few times. I saw a pretty good one Sunday afternoon, about 150 yards out, walking a field edge, along thick cover. But have no buck tag. With so many other things going on at this time of the year, it can be tough to stay motivated and make time to be in the woods. But I will tell you, it can and does pay off big time to hunt late season! Best of luck and keep at it, all you can until it's over!
  4. Going to the farm, Saturday and Sunday to help try and put a couple does in the freezer, for my hunting partner. Saw a real nice buck yesterday, but no buck tag.
  5. There you go! Get out there and get one down! Best of luck to you!
  6. If ya don't go this weekend, ya gotta wait almost another year to go again. Up to you, but I'd go!
  7. Unless I get a "REALLY" big one, it's euro mounts for me, from now on. Nice job on your first euro mount grow! I bet River will love to have it in his room!
  8. Does the same thing when deer breath too. When deer are in close, I try to breath over my bottom lip, forcing the air down in to my chest.
  9. To me she is just another hunter who happens to be a nun. Congratulations to her on a great buck! Way to go and nice job!
  10. We are being over run with coyotes! We shoot them when we see them. But want to learn how to call and decoy. I really think this could be fun after deer season, through the winter. Don't want another debate on should or should not kill coyotes. Just want some sound advice about what calls to use, electronic and mouth. What brands. And the same with decoys. Don't want to spend more than $200 to get started. We have rifles, shotguns and a good idea of where and how to set up. Any advice from experienced coyote callers would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Not touching this one.....lol.
  12. As long as they are on the property, you still have a better than average chance of putting a tag on one! Keep after them and good luck!
  13. Don't mountain lions stash their food in tree's?
  14. Great price! Pick me up one too!!!.....lol
  15. Nice pic! Handsome little guy too! My grandson/hunting buddy Zac, is 11 years old, 5-11, 165 lbs. and wears a size 14 shoe! I see lots of deer dragging in his future!.....lol
  16. Nice buck! Congratulations! Hell of a season so far. Way to go!

Great first post! Welcome to the forum and hope to hear more from you!
  18. Guess I'm back in the game! Hunting partner called and wants to fill a landowner permit and a 4H DMP. He was saving them for his daughter, but work obligations won't let her get out anymore this season. And he has a bunch of stuff going on and can only hunt a couple hours here or there. Soooo, heading up to the farm in a bit, to help fill his freezer.
  19. I use the Zeiss lens cleaning wipes. Pre-moistened, and cheap, from wally world. Been using them for years and they work fine. Might use something else if I had high dollar glass though. All my scopes are $500 or less.
  20. That's the spirit! Gotta stay positive, get out there, get after them and get it done! Best of luck to all who are still out there, getting after them!
  21. Having a euro mount done for the first time on the buck I killed last week. I'm getting a weathered plank from the old homestead on the property and some old "bob" wire from the area where he was killed. We now have a bigger home but I have a smaller trophy room. So this will fit nicely. Again, congrats on your beautiful buck!
  22. Enjoy the company and good times! Best of luck to you guy's!
  23. Welcome! Glad you dropped bye. Just pull up a seat and join right in anytime.
  24. Use what you love! You only have to please yourself.
