In the hilltowns of 4H got busted by does this morning, no bucks seen. Different property for the afternoon, no deer seen. Leave the property on the way home a quarter mile up the road a big mature 8 crossed in front of me,heading to our property. Back out to do it again tomorrow. Hoping for better results!

I will be heading out with the crossbow in the morning. Hoping to have blood on the ground at some point!

I have a Barnett Raptor, $350 or so. Got bad shoulders, so when they passed the law, I went and bought it. Didn't want to drop a lot of money if I could only use it a couple weeks. And I wasn't sure if I would even like it. Well, I do like it. Not love it. And it is fun to shoot, and very accurate out to my hunting range of 30 yards. But the scope that came with it is garbage. It is very loud and the plastic bolt retaining spring broke the first time I shot it, a Barnett thing. So perhaps after full inclusion I will upgrade. But for now it is ok, and I will be hunting with it the next few days. Hoping to kill a deer.

To bad some scumbag poacher stole that beautiful buck from a real hunter. Glad that you were able to keep the meat though. And you did the right thing. Hope with the evidence, the catch the low life, eventually.

Right now with the rut kicking in, get out there anytime you can. Doesn't matter what you do. It's 100 percent better than not going and doing nothing! Just get out there!

The cool thing about hunting is you get to make the choice!

As for me? I'm going to put my compound down, pick up my crossbow, and go out and hunt Saturday through Wednesday. I don't feel it will make me less of a hunter.

My buddy at the farm says bucks are chasing does everywhere. On the way home tonight from having work done on my truck. Had a small 8 standing on the side of the road with a doe. This will be the week we have waited all year for. Weather looks great. Lets get out there and kill some deer!

I'm old enough to remember when you could expect to get a minimum of ten years use from an appliance. Even the low end ones. Now you are lucky to get half that many years out of them.

I know some guy's here have properties where they would pass a buck like that. But I don't. And I would be happy to shoot him!
