Cooked up my birthday trout tonight with some homegrown potatoes and the first asparagus from the farmers market.

Thanks everyone, I went fishing with a buddy whose birthday also is today. We caught some brown trout,the local creeks are high but clearing up after the recent rains.

Got my 2nd moderna shit yesterday,otsego County building..No wait,and feeling okay today besides the muscle pain in the arm. I did not sleep well so felt a little loagie today. I am definetely on the upswing now and expect to be fine tomorrow.

Forgot to post last weekends shoot in Richfield Springs. It was a beautiful day to be out there. Is anyone planning on going to the Waterville shoot on 5/9 ?

Constructive input, great! How do you know 99% are justified? I think cops can shoot for self defense and to defend other lives in danger. I don't know that a woman threatening another woman with a knife deserves 4 bullets. That is kind of going nuclear on a first hand weapon. I don't know the details and split second decisions are difficult. In reality we are both second guessing.

I switched to a single pin last year and love the sight picture. I shot a great round of 3d two weeks ago with the sight set at 26 and not changing it. And that is a nice bow @Otto,I have the halon x which is a little longer which I like for my longer arms. Good luck with it.

Like I said, it is an OK concept in theory. The others could get their resources cheaper by buying from developing countries,or make it cheaper by paying their workers less. Or incur hidden costs that are not showing up in the price,like conventional farming for example. Or oil production. The playing field is not level and as one party gets more power it becomes even more distorted. This has got to be the country with the least government market regulation in the western world, no? Look at how many people live in poverty. Something does not seem to add up,or does it? The richest country in the world has quite a few people living in less than civilized conditions. They are all lazy and content?

I don't care about people that are worth 5 mil or 10 mil,it is the folks that are worth billions that did not earn that amount of money through honest work without screwing people along the way or inheriting most of it. That was my point,having the filthy rich pay their fair share.

I disagree. You are hanging on to the old from rags to riches narrative. How come so many people are still living in poverty here then? Because they like it? It is true that this country has created some of the richest people in the world,but at what cost? They must be pretty happy you are defending the system that allowed that to happen.

Oh,you think it would be affordable if all regulations were removed? I don't believe the free market is best for all mantra,it only serves the few powerful. It is human nature to take advantage where you can. Sounds good in theory,but the human factor(greed) messes it up.

I doubt that mister doom. The health insurance and drug companies pay enough campaign contributions to both sides to keep their interest safe(profits above all). Anybody who thinks the free market creates the best healthcare needs to explain to me why the u.s has the highest health care costs and ranks not even in the top ten for population longevity or health.

Yup,different drugs or substances people are addicted to,sugar and nicotine. They just happen to be legal but are costing the taxpayer or insured a lot of money.

I got a 7.5' 4 weight years ago for the small streams. I like it a lot and only get my 9' 5 weight out for bigger water and some high stick nymphing. Or if I go on a trip to the Catskill where distance is more important.

Nah,there's money in speeding tickets. That's why the state should get in on the money in drugs. NY has serious budget issues every year, but there was/is a pandemic going on which made things just a tad worse. The ops question was why legalization now,and that is the answer. I would like to see any government agency be more responsible with our money, but you know how that goes most of the time .

I am for legalizing all drugs, the only way to stop drug trafficking. Addicts gonna be addicts. And do me a favor and look up studies about the harmful effects of pot vs. alcohol. Not even a close race. I don't hear you asking about the cost to society of alcohol though. Liver cirrhosis anyone? Drunk drivers? What cost to society does pot incur? You got some examples?

People are smoking weed if it is legal or not. Might as well have the state make some money from it. I doubt people will start smoking pot only because it is legal now.
